I love Bento Boxes and a majority of the places in the area are closed during most of the week and charge a ridiculous amount. I am so so happy for finding Man Sun Japanese. Stopped by there yesterday to grab some lunch to go. I ordered on their website, $10 for the lunch special Bento Box and it comes with your choice of chicken, beef, or salmon teriyaki and includes tempura veggies, rice, salad, 4 piece California Roll, side of miso soup and some Korean side dishes. I got there in time for my puick-up, but they were running behind and hadn't seen my order on Yelp. The lady said next time to phone in the order and it would be a lot faster, so going to try that next time. Still got my order pretty fast. They also offer a Yelp Check-in and you can get free edamame. They seemed busy yesterday, so I didn't want to bother with it, but good to know and use for next time. There's some parking on the street, but the lot for the Farmer's Market next to it had plenty of parking so I parked there. Looking forward to coming here again soon for lunch! read more

If you're in Diamond Bar, this would be a good restaurant to eat sushi because: 1 - service is good unlike the one by Walmart; and 2 - the food is traditional, their miso soups doesn't have zucchini unlike the restaurant by Albertsons. A handful of us didn't enjoy the side dishes as much and I thought it was a waste to give the sides out to people who most likely wouldn't eat it. It's probably be a good idea to confirm with people who ordered if the side dishes as they are would be something they'd like or if they can swap them out with something else. You won't find the highest quality fish here, but you get other perks - free banchan, other Korean menu items (the daegu tang is a fave), and the ever-friendly owner who always brings a smile. This is the worst udon I have ever had in my life. It looks like the chef forgot about it in the pot. The noodles were so overcooked that they were falling apart, and I could barely pick them up with my chopsticks. The tempura was cold and unevenly battered; one was falling apart. Oh my gosh I did not want to review this place like this because this was my all time favorite place to eat at when in Los Angeles for the price and value that is given. If you were a seafood lover this was the spot... I don't live in Los Angeles but in a land far far away and so this was always a special treat from... So to start the special is now 60 bucks which is ok I don't mind but the food quality sucks... the special is what you always order here and the chef have never gone wrong... sushi was definitely fishy... the once lobster sashimi is now gone... there was no salmon head but replaced with two mackerels... one good the other firm and chewy... lol not sure if they were show casing the two different types? One edible one inedible... Ok the saving grace for this meal is there is an in and out burger right across the street... we are heading there right now to eat... Sadly after 7 years and at least 9 trips here this disappointment does not even begin to describe how sad I am about this place... Like some other reviews have said, this place has fallen behind...so much. Prices increased. Inversely, the quality decreased. I have no issues paying more if the quality is maintained, but this is a no-go. This used to be a special place for me and my family. In the past and for years, we'd come here for special occasions and since the state "fully opened" up again, we decided to come here for dinner to "celebrate." My mom and I came here for dinner and we paid $90 for the medium sashimi combo, walked out paying $115+ with tip and tax. We would've been more satisfied if we went to a AYCE sushi place at $40/person. I remember I could've walked out in the past paying around $150 and that was good for 4 people. The price we paid our last visit left us barely stuffed. Their signature sashimi combo is a shadow of its former self. They got rid of signature highlight dishes with much lower quality replacements. The starting sashimi salad was replaced with soba noodles with a gochujang sauce. I think this was done on purpose to stuff you with carbs from the get-go so you don't notice you're getting less food. There's no longer a lobster sashimi where they'll use the shell to make a soup at the end. There was noticeably less sashimi too. I mean you can pack the plate with as much of the string daikon as you'd want to make it look impressive, but it's all just looks. The uni bowl was replaced with a very mini unagi bowl. Two small paltry pieces of unagi that replaced what used to be a whole sea urchin/uni. They ended it all with a maeun-tang (spicy fish stew). And holy crap..more like spicy fish bone soup. I was lucky I didn't choke on a bone. There were fish bones in almost every single sip. Even my mom who is usually fine with fish bones. To top this low quality soup was the paltry amount of other ingredients. There were just 2-3 small pieces of radish that looks more like garnish than being a part of the soup and enough enoki for just one person. You know how you can get a bag at the market for like $2? Imagine that bag, but split among 10-12 people. That's how much enoki you got. We left fairly disappointed. I had doubts about the recent reviews and we wanted to try it out to see for ourselves. We'll have to look for a new replacement restaurant for family occasions... read more

Since my friend loves uni, I decided on this place since I've been eyeing their uni bowl for a while now. We both got the UNI BOWL (off menu), but it was really nothing special. It only comes with a few pieces of uni, seaweed salad, assortment of seafood, but no sashimi. I thought it was their take on a chirashi bowl, but I guess it's nothing like that. They also serve banchan, and I hate to say it, but their banchan was better than the uni bowl. My friend had to order two more rounds of nigiri because he wasn't full from the uni bowl. In the end, they did offer complimentary green tea ice cream though, which I appreciated. Tip: This place is also super hard to find.
