I have both bought and sold as part of my coin collection which I have been collecting for the last 3 decades.......I've spent a lot of time reviewing the value of my collection and when very recently decided to sell most of the collection so my wife would not have to worry what to do with everything. You must remember going to anywhere that there is a buy price......my collection that I brought in to them I valued at approximately $115,999......I thought every estimate they gave me was well within the but/sell fairness. I'm not very trusting of people and while my encounter with this person seemed okay, I'm still not sure whether to believe or not. When my mother died in 2011, she left some diamond jewelry, including a ring with a larger stone. I'm to the point where I'm ready to sell what I have. For whatever emotional reasons, this took a while. Entering the shop, you get bulletproof windows with the little slot at the bottom. They didn't see me right away and I went over to the door to the right. At that point, someone came to talk to me. I showed him the ring and the appraisal and he told me that if he was able to sell it, he would only be able to give me 10% of the appraised price. He talked down the size of the stone, the clarity, and told me a story about the diamond market being flooded by a Russian company between the appraisal and now. I have not tried to confirm the last point. It wasn't explicitly negative or rude, but he made sure that I understood that I wouldn't get much anywhere. I want to believe that he was on the up and up, but there is that doubt, especially with such a business. I just don't know what to believe. read more

Stopped by the store today and ended up looking at their silver one ounce 2017 American Eagles. I thought I would buy a couple in honor of a relative's birthday. I purchased two for $21 a piece. Keep in mind spot price for silver hovers around $16.41 an ounce according to Kitko.com today (5MAY17). I scoped out the price to order a couple of identical silver coins on AMEX.com and they would have run me $19.74 - $20.29. Bottom Line: if you're looking for convenience this is a nice place to drop by to pick up a few coins. If you're looking for a bargain, look elsewhere or purchase online. read more
