We were very disappointed with the sandwich and the lack of enthusiasm of staff to check to see if they had any Mortadella wherever they have their meats stored. I don't offer many reviews though I use Yelp often when traveling. Places like this don't come often no matter where you travel or from. Simply they are a sandwich shop for sandwich lovers. Shaved lettuce, paper thin boars head meat/veggies and perfect homemade bread. Sandwiches are my go to choice. I've had the best in most major cities and this little sandwich joint in the middle of Florida rivals them all. To the owners, thank you. Best sub shop ever. First tried thwm at their NSB location, which unfortunately is now under new management. But the DeLand location is just as good! They have delicious bread and great sides. We stopped briefly in front of the shop, thinking about going in, when one of the staff opened the door, making the decision for us...and I am glad he did. The menu written on blackboards was thoughtfully composed and, like the rest of the shop, was no-frills and straightforward. We got the Balboa and the Broadway Pastrami. The sandwiches are amazing. The staff were so cool. I showed up 30 minutes to close. The guys working in there treated me as they would their first customer. I respect this. I gave them a hard time, and we had a few great laughs while they carefully crafted 3 delicious sandwiches. My dad left impressed, and happy. This is a difficult feat. Sandwiches are good, but canned drinks only, and restaurant atmosphere is a turn off. If you are looking for a Togo option it would be much better experience than dine in. The lady behind the counter isn't rude but has a less than flattering personality. If you sit there you will get to "enjoy" listening to her communicate with customers. The Manzano's in DeLand an expansion from its original location in New Smyrna Beach. This review is based on my experience with the DeLand Manzano's. Manzano's has earned its place as being my favorite lunch restaurant in DeLand. I can't get tired of it. I've tried. So why is Manzano's so special? First of all, Manzano's uses awesome ingredients - the veggies, meats, and cheeses are very fresh, and sliced there in the restaurant. The bread is incredible - sourdough for paninis and New York style bread for the cold sandwiches. The New York style bread isn't for the faint of heart - the crust will tear up your mouth, but it's VERY WORTH IT. Also, the sandwiches, particularly the cold sandwiches, are very big. I have a big appetite, and even half of a half sub is almost too much. There's a good selection of chips - regular and kettle cooked, and a great selection of lesser-known sodas. I've heard the soups are very good, but I've yet to try them myself. I'm sure many people complain about the layout - the restaurant was practically stuffed into a hallway - but I think the proprietor has managed the best possible layout with the small space. There's also seating outside, and many people order their food to go. Another thing to note - the food does take a little bit, definitely not fast food. This is a restaurant that takes pride in their work, and the result is worth the wait. Also, I love the staff - they're awesome, very friendly and pleasant. In my reviews, I usually try to recommend one food item in particular, but this place is so awesome, I simply can't narrow it down. Thank you Manzano's for making my lunchtime so amazing. read more

I like to get the 'Rocco' (Cappicola, Salami, Pepperoni, Prosciutto, Sopressata, Provolone, Roasted Red Peppers, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Black Olives, Mayo, Oil & Vinegar). Well I have had it with these douche bags. They will stop answering the phone 45 minutes before they close and they will tell you they aren't serving anymore customers at lest 15 minutes before they close. They must earn some huge money to treat customers like that. At first I thought their bad behavior was a bit comical. Not anymore. We work hard for our money too. Our time is just as valuable as yours. There's a reason they always have a help wanted sign. No one could tolerate the two of them. The guy gripes about cutting an avocado for the last order and I said no I'm going to need it. But they wouldn't serve me 15 minutes before closing so he threw it away. I am only giving this place 2 stars because the sandwiches they make do really taste good, but for $76? WOW! Be prepared to spend money for large, hefty size sandwich and terrible customer service. We ordered 3 sandwiches total - if you get cold ones, you can only get them in 1/2.. so if you want a "WHOLE", you have to pay for 2 halves. Its crazy! And the guy behind the counter has a personality of a wet mop and made us feel real stupid when we didn't understand why 3 sandwiches cost $76. But wait.. you get a discount if you pay cash! Best sandwich shop in DeLand! Manzano's uses only quality ingredients, and the results speak for themselves. As the other reviews say, the bread is rough on your mouth, but it's necessary to make the kind of sandwiches they're doing! If you're ordering for yourself, definitely only get a half sandwich! There's no way anyone can reasonably eat an entire sandwich in one sitting, they're just too huge. I often split a half sandwich with my fiancé and that's still plenty for each of us. You really can;t go wrong with any of the menu items, and if you're into special craft beers, they have a wide selection of bottles in the cooler. I am going to send my daughter to Stetson University just so I can go visit her and eat lunch here. The Italian bread is incredible and crunchy while staying soft and chewy on the Inside. The meats are top notch, the staff is super friendly and I really enjoyed this Deli. The only other Deli in NE Florida that compares to Manzano's is Sun Deli in Jacksonville Beach!! I had the Broadway Pastrami which is a hot sandwich. It was incredibly juicy and tasty. I will probably eat her again tomorrow before I leave town!!! read more

This place is awesome. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty. I ordered the jerk chicken which was so flavorful and tasty. My wife had the bulldog which is their club sub and that was so amazing also. The portion sizes are very nice. i have only ordered the half sizes and could barely finish them so i can't wait to see what the whole size is like.This place is some place that I will be visiting often once I return home. I wish they were open more hours- but I take what I can get! I've only ever had the cold sandwiches (not the hot ones or any of the other things like pasta salad) but I love the bread and they really fill up the sandwiches! Worth the price.
