However, the past few times I've ordered from there, the products have been somewhat underwhelming. Got two kolaczki's and both were very dry. Also got a slice of German chocolate cake and it was dry, too sweet, and tasted old. The doughnuts are generally very good as well as the coffee cakes. But the pastries do not taste as good as they look behind the counter. I admit, I did arrive about 20 minutes before closing, but that should not affect the taste that much.

After waiting more than 1.5 hours, I called to check the status and found out that my order had not even been prepared. I don't know who I spoke with on the phone, but instead of helping resolve the issue, I was told that I could simply cancel my order. What frustrated me most was the explanation I received: "Sorry, this app doesn't work well." The representative showed little interest in solving the problem. Apparently, the app worked perfectly when it charged my credit card, but when it came to processing and delivering my order, suddenly the app was the issue. Delays can happen, but customers should be informed instead of being left waiting with no updates. I still didn't receive my order after two hours. The customer service was awful, and the lack of communication made the situation even more frustrating. This used to be one of my favorite places, but unfortunately, the quality of service seems to be getting worse.

Tastes were fine, too. Nothing out of the world, but certainly comparable to the others. Dude behind the counter was super nice to answer any questions I had for any items. Compared to competitors, I found a few interesting items that I hadn't found elsewhere, then there were some typical items missing. I guess it balances out. All in all, it was a good experience and tasty Japanese pastries. I'd try them again fo sho.

Tous Les Jour is a Korean bakery that has hit on a winning formula. I have personally gone to at least 6 or 7 TLJ's in Chicago & Chicagoland. TLJ is international & have also eaten at locations outside the US. For me they have a great selection @ a reasonable price & availability @ numerous locations both nationally & internationally. I went in early this morning, before 7am, to pick up some paczkis, their awesome cinnamon raisin bread and my dad's favorite, the Swedish Flat. And we weren't disappointed. So the front counter space is big. Their inside space to wait is, I believe, a little bit bigger compared to their old location. They still have their shelving in there with kolaczkis, assorted breads and pre-boxed paczkis. They are still getting everything together from their move and they didn't have a lot of pazckis available, which is ok because we aren't at Fat Tuesday yet amd last year you could place an order for them online. But their customer service is great as usual, and customers leave with smiles on their faces. I asked one of the employees there how have the longtime customers taken to the new building and she said so far it's been a mix. I love the new place and can't wait to see how they perform when they are all don't acclimating to their new home. Also, they have a awesome looking espresso machine but it isn't up and running when I was there. Thanks for being able to replace my hole in my heart when our local bakery closed a ling time ago.

As employees were already putting away the bread, I politely asked if I could grab a piece before everything was picked up. I was told that the bread was being moved to the front and that someone would assist me there. While I waited, two other groups entered after me. They heard the same information and ended up being helped before I was, despite the employees knowing that I had been waiting first. I politely asked twice for assistance and was told to continue waiting while the other groups were served. What made the situation more frustrating was that the customers ahead of me were taking a long time deciding what they wanted. I had already put on a plastic glove and was prepared to select my own bread, but I was told that wasn't necessary because an employee would help me. While waiting, I witnessed one of the teenagers from a group point directly at the bread, and another teenager pushed their hand into it. This happened in front of the employees, and no one addressed the situation or reminded them not to touch the food. As someone who was trying to follow proper sanitation practices, I found this very concerning. Not only did this happened once but 2,3 times infront of them. Yet nothing was addressed. After being ignored, waiting while others were served ahead of me, and seeing unsanitary behavior go unaddressed, I decided to leave without making a purchase. I was disappointed by both the customer service and the lack of attention to food handling standards.

The place was very clean, too. Although, since they were busy, we had to wipe our table down. I understand they couldn't get away to bus the tables. They have a large drink menu and lots and lots of pastries and cakes. I had a latte made with oat milk, and the rest of our group had a variety of pastries. Everything was great. Their price point is a little higher than other places like Tour Les Jours, but not out of line.
