Three stars at best... good service and fine location. Grilled salmon was healthiest item on the menu which was otherwise meat or fried heavy. Salmon seemed more backed than grilled and we told them to hold the maple sauce. The carrots were however boiled in something sweet and ended up unrecognizable. The baked potato had some small hard to digest parts inside and may have been baked earlier and reheated. They seem to push the salad bar but we avoided it since it was limited in variety. There are limited options in the area so we will probably see it again next year... read more

We ordered take out from Maple on the Lake for early dinner. I did have to reheat everything by the time I ate it, so it may have affected the taste. Sauerbraten ($23) includes potato pancakes and red cabbage. This was interesting as the red cabbage had an intense tangy flavor. Buffalo Chicken Tortellini Alfredo ($24) includes grilled chicken, bacon and tomatoes in a buffalo parmesan sauce with cheese tortellini. Overall, this lacked a lot of flavor and only tasted creamy. read more

Been a huge fan of this location through all the owners and versions of the menu. Was also a fan of the Maple Inn before that owner moved it to the shores of Warner's Lake. The food is mostly comfort food. I love the individual pizza. My partner love the prime rib special on Friday and Saturday evenings (they start serving it at 3pm). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dinning room has an amazing view of the lake. In the winter, it's a great place to watch ice racing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They've added shade sails to the deck, giving far more shade than the umbrellas did. It's not 100% shaded, the position of the sun is key, but there's a lovely filtered light effect from the sails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a huge parking lot across the road, it only fills up when they're packed or there's an event. The building is older and hasn't had a major renovation so the ADA accommodations are a bit afterthought-ish, but present. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar has a local-watering-hole feel, because it sorta is. There's a dock that allows lake residents to skip the road and take the boat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We took friends there yesterday and we were quite happy with the view, our table on the deck, our server (shout out to Grace!), and the food. Two of our party had the prime rib special and both reported their meal to be as good as they expected. My service dog is a fan of the ice. Staff was very respectful of his job and the local vets at the bar made sure we could walk through without issue. Lastly, as a fairly regular patron, I feel I should tell you that I have had less than stellar experiences here. I have had the bad service or bad food other reviewers have described. It has happened to me so infrequently i feel I can say it's been an exception, not a common occurrence. I suggest coming again on a different day or time, but also, speak up when it happens. Speak to the manager if need be. Because it's a local favorite with an amazing view, the staff should be held to a standard to match the setting. Feedback helps achieve that. read more

Lunch with lake views is a good way to spend a spring afternoon. Maple delivers on that front. The food tends toward tavern and comfort foods, they have prime rib for dinner and decent looking pizzas as well. My 3 star experience is largely due to the soggy fries I was served early at lunch. Likely the fryer temp needs to be a bit higher. Plus the under toasted bread under my pot roast sandwich which just turned to soggy mush. I told the waitress all of this but she did not attempt to rectify. At least she could have offered a new batch of fries. That said, the pot roast was excellent, tender and flavorful served under a thick, dark brown gravy. Taking into account the lovely views, friendly waitress and tasty comfort foods, I'd be willing to give the restaurant another try with an eye towards a rating upgrade. read more

Home sweet Home. When we are here; we feel like home. From my very first time at this wonderful lakeside small town back road restaurant; I was hooked! I have been here winter Spring Summer Fall And YOU CAN NOT leave without one of their amazing amazing amazing deserts! Bring it home! I am partial to the chocolate cake as my go to. The pumpkin pie is my second fave! The salmon, the beef points, the chicken, there is no bad choice at the Maple on the Lake. The service, the people, the servers!!! It always feels like home to me. Thank you to all of the staff and owners. You all go above and beyond and it shows in everything! The warmth embraces you from the moment you arrive. A great restaurant overlooking Warner Lake, this restaurant is seemingly in the middle of nowhere but clearly well known to the locals. I brought my wife and son here to celebrate our Anniversary as we needed a location that was "kid friendly" yet a step above Applebees. It turned out to be more like a skyscraper above... We had been here years ago, and I recalled that it had once been a German restaurant. I tried to call to make reservations on a Wednesday evening but they wouldn't take them, so we came early (a little after 5PM) to ensure getting a good table on the patio outside. As it turns out, that was a wise move as within a half-hour the place was packed. It was filled with locals, families, fun-loving adults at the bar, and groups of old people here and there. Everyone was having a good time. We started with Buffalo wings, which were good though a bit greasy. They were fried well but not crispy, yet not soggy. I then had the sliced sirloin steak with mushroom ravioli in a brown gravy. It didn't look like much when it came out (cover anything in brown gravy and you will know what I mean) but it tasted great. Large pieces of tender steak, very large ravioli, and plenty of gravy. Perhaps too much, except that it went well with the rolls that were on their soup and salad bar. Speaking of which, the salad bar wasn't anything special but it has been several years since I went to a place with one (stupid Covid). It felt nice to mix with people and survey buffet tables again. The potato soup was pretty good, and I really liked the rolls even though they probably weren't anything special. My wife had steak tips in a brown sauce with a potato on the side, and the steak was also good though I preferred my dish more. Dessert, which seemed an afterthought to the server, was peanut butter pie and carrot cake. Both were homemade, both were fantastic, though I really loved my peanut butter dessert. At 6ish the server had to check with the kitchen to see if any dessert was left... so be warned if you show up late! Each was partially eaten with the remainder coming home. Servings of each were enough for two normal people to split. Service was friendly, though spotty. It was a real team effort, with the owner and multiple servers helping out. They were clearly busy... on a Wednesday no less... and at times I had to hunt down our server. But, we got through and really enjoyed our meal. It wasn't terribly expensive, and I would love to come back. Perhaps in the winter, I bet the snow would look lovely on the water. read more

We came here for our 15 year anniversary and had a really nice time. Its a bit of a drive but the scenery is nice along the way. When we arrived around 5pm Wed night there was plenty of seating and the host said we could pick whatever table we wanted to sit at. Part way through our stay we could here staff quoting a 30 minute wait. Service was a little slow but they were packed. We ordered the Buffalo wing appetizer medium hot. The wings were a decent size, crispy but tasted mild. The entrees were very reasonably priced and quite large. They didn't look very pretty and made no attempt to garnish anything but they tasted good. The exception was my boiled "baked potato" that came with sour cream and butter on the side; I didn't even bother with it. Entrées seemed to come with the soup and salad bar. They were serving cream of potato soup which was very good. The salad bar was basic but all the ingredients were fresh. The atmosphere was relaxed and we weren't rushed to flip the table which was nice since we had our 5 month old with us. Eating with one hand takes a little longer... I had a really nice time and would definitely recommend if in the area. read more

If you're looking for a place to dine outside with a view, what better place to go than Maple on the Lake?! We went for lunch on a weekday. We had ice tea, fried fish, and onion rings while seated on a deck. The portions were generous. The meal was delicious. It was definitely not a low-calorie dining experience, but it was definitely fun. Our server was young and helpful. In fact, the entire wait staff was youthful and friendly. This is my 2nd visit here. Unfortunately the patio wasn't opened for outdoor dining by the inside had a lovely view of the lake as well. The service prompt, our waitress was pleasant and it was clean. I have t been to a salad bar with those brown bowls since the 90's so this place does feel a little old fashioned for my taste but my mother in law that was with me loved it! We all shared the appetizer sampler. The dipping marinara was a standout and I really enjoyed the fried mushrooms. My spouse had the turkey Rachel with fries and my mil had the friend haddock with a baked potato and they were happy. I normally don't. Choose fish as my entree by the haddock with seafood stuffing and a Parmesan dressing was just was i needed on a warm afternoon. We will certainly return! read more

The food that we had at Maple at the Lake wasn't what I'd normally call GOOD, exactly, but the combination of setting and nostalgia here is pretty hard to beat. If you've ever longed deep in your heart to time-travel back to an era when your dinner came with salad bar access and they brought free bread and butter to the table, then boy, do I have the joint for you. I got French onion soup and unlimited salad bar, and may have chortled quietly to myself as I loaded up my faux-wood bowl with romaine and canned black olives and those hard little salad bar croutons that I remember loving as a little kid in the 90s. The French onion soup was tasty (it's hard to mess up!) and not over-salted (which is how it's usually messed up). My husband got the fish and chips. The fish was a bit dry, but well-seasoned (and a very generous portion). The free rolls and butter were a delight. The view was wonderful. The service was very sweet. I want to come back here 4,623 times to get gently tipsy and watch the boats go by on the lake while eating an unmanageably gigantic sandwich (or just more soup and a whole bunch of free dinner rolls). read more

We had a fabulous spur of the moment girls' night on Saturday night. Our fault- we went at prime dinner time with no reservation and had to wait for an hour. However, the 4 year old granddaughter was really patient and we took turns sitting by the lake while we waited. Dinner was really good and very reasonable. Wine was good for the price of $6.00 a glass. I had the stuffed haddock which I really liked and my daughter had the maple salmon, which she raved about. It was a fun place with a fun/loud vibe. Near Thatcher and nice view! Place was packed at Sat 5:30pm and just got fuller. Host guy was real nice sat us by the window and perfect view! The server was friendly and attentive. Food was homestyle and had 2 German style dishes which my husband got the Sauerbraten good with a well made pickled red cabbage and I got the steak tips-grace and mushrooms were flavorful, sweet potato fries nice crisp. This is a popular family friendly spot on the lake (as you might've guessed). We were with our grandchildren and they were delighted to see boats they could point out to us. Such a fun spot. The dining atmosphere is very casual. They had a soup/salad station that you could order as a meal or as a side to your entre. They had a sausage and cabbage based soup on the day we went which was very good and I went back for seconds on that. The salad bar had the usual options. The menu had pretty standard family diner fare but on the day we went they had prime rib available so I went with that. This was delicious and I was impressed with it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how well the service and food was. I went here mainly for the view of the lake. It happened to be snowing so we sat indoors in front of the fireplace and looking out at the lake. Our server was very attentive. The atmosphere is nice cozy and warm. I ordered the prime rib melt. This place was great just a few years ago but now I would never recommend it to anyone. I've gone there twice recently in both times and the food was just okay (it isn't the kind of cooking quality like it used to be). According to the website they have internet access at the restaurant but the last two times I've went every single person in the restaurant apparently doesn't know the password for the Wi-Fi so you can forget about that. It was important to me because The restaurant is a cell phone dead zone and I needed it for business. You still get a great view of the lake though...so there's that. Meh read more

Went this past Friday for dinner. I have to first say that our server, Matt, was just fantastic. He was very personable and was very familiar with the the food that they have on the menu. The food was top notch as we all totally enjoyed our dinners. The soup was terrific that night. Will be going back more often. read more
