We were told to try this spot by a local at the beach this morning so of course we did. When you walk in you grab a menu and order at the front. I did wish they had more food options BUT their biscuits were crazy good! I regret not trying their freshly squeezed orange juice but their coffee tasted good and strong. Cute little place we stopped at on a road trip. The restaurant was super clean and we got a fast service! We started off with trying the farmer because it seems like we really needed to try chicken sandwich here. It was really good, but the apple butter was a little bit too much for me. It's been years since I've been to a Maple Street -- and even more years since I've been to this one -- so I decided to stop in recently when a medical appointment had me in the area. The good: the staff was very friendly, and the service on a weekday morning was pretty quick. Also, the grits I got as a side were great, although I wouldn't want the cold shredded cheese on top next time (and I honestly cannot recall whether I ordered them that way). The meh: the biscuit was pretty disappointing. I got the Iron Goat and had two issues. First, it didn't come with the pepper jelly, which I think would have really improved the flavor. Second, the biscuit itself was pretty dry and tough, and it also had some raw flour taste to it. That's a hard thing to overcome when the word "biscuit" is in your name. I found the sweet cream cold brew to be a bit of a letdown, too. The cold brew itself was more acidic than I'm used to, and the sweet cream foam looked and tasted like it was canned whipped cream. I'll give Maple Street another try. read more

The parking lot is a little tight in front. I had the Five and Dime with country fried steak. It was the first time with the steak. It was very good (love the gravy!) but I do like it with the fried chicken better. My wife had the squawking goat tacos which are always delicious. We shared some smashbrowns and bluegrass grits. Yes, it was more than we could eat but I absolutely love their grits. They have outside seating which we enjoyed. I also like the option to have coffee in mugs when dining in. There was not a crowd and only two of us. It took forever to get our order. (30 minutes or more) the tea tasted days old. The specialty orange/cranberry champagne mimosa took forever to get it was room temperature and was bitter. My taco had 1 strip of bacon 4 cube potatoes, an egg that was tiny and chewy and a few pieces of cheddar cheese no melted and a plastic container (usually with to go orders) and a plastic cup with lid and nasty salsa. The Five and dime was on a small plate and room temperature. Have had this before in San Marco and it was always good. This was definitely a disappointment and $40 spent and left hungry! I forgot to take a picture but for the taco imagine the smallest stale tortilla. I'd prefer Metro diner or Beach Diner but wished we waited and went out for lunch! read more

When it comes to ordering, my preference is Risky Biscuit ($8) a two flaky biscuits topped with a very generous helping of heavy, choose from sausage or shitake mushroom gravy. Coffee is ($3).
