The best vanilla conchas i've ever tried, so sweet almost sugar cookie-like. my friends all fell in love with my plate- the flor de calabaza omelette. The creamy gravy that covers the omelette is addicting. honestly, you'll want to smother it on everything! This is a charming place but despite regular crowds, the food is strictly average, the beautiful pastries are a huge disappointment, and the coffee is terrible (in a city of wonderful coffee options). The service on two recent visits ranged from competent to borderline rude. Maque is a cute restaurant is situated on a corner of tree lined streets. I sat at a table outside, with a view of Parque Mexico, the purple flowers from the jaracanda trees lightly shadowing the quaint street. I sat for a while before I got any type of service. I was then offered some bread and I asked for a mini concha. It was the perfect size, and the bread wasn't too sweet. I especially enjoyed the crispy layer on top. For my breakfsat, I got a flor de calabaza omelette, with manchego cheese, and chilaquiles and beans and a fresh orange juice. Along with my omelette, I also got a bread basket. The omelette filled with manchego cheese was delicious, the flor de calabaza was cooked with the creamy sauce. Eggs were cooked perfectly. It was a rich dish, but the flavour was delcious. The chilaquiles also added a good crunchy mix to the dish. The service was good, but at times it took me a while to find someone. The servers are friendly. They have a full selection of their pan dulce inside. It was hard to resist not to buy more conchas to go! read more

BEST. CONCHAS. Admittedly, I had no idea what a concha was until this trip to CDMX so my knowledge is limited, but upon a recommendation from a friend, we walked into Maque and were blown away. The conchas we got were warm, soft, buttery, and had the perfect amount of sweetness. We tried a bunch of conchas throughout the weekend and these were hands down the best! Maque is also situated in the perfect location -- right next to the stunning Parque Mexico. The interior is beautiful and the staff is really sweet. Fresh off a redeye, we landed up at Maque shortly after the restaurant opened. We grabbed a table on the sidewalk, and immediately knew we had come to the right place--we had a delightful view of the park (Parque Mexico) from our seats. It was a lovely spot to experience a city waking up, made even more perfect by the fact that we were sipping on coffee as we did so. I went for the chilaquiles al maistro for my breakfast, and I devoured that meal like nobody's business. It's an earthier preparation than your typical verdes/rojas--if poblano is your jam, this is the style you want. My companions ordered a couple of omelettes, and were also very pleased with their meals. Portions here are quite generous, so come with an appetite! The staff here were extremely friendly and super supportive of our rather limited Spanish skills. Overall, the food here was delicious, the prices were quite reasonable for what we received, and the ambience is exquisitely peaceful. I would certainly consider Maque a must-visit for breakfast when in CDMX. read more

yeah as a tourist we had an absolutely horrible experience here sadly. when looking at other reviews we were hopeful due to the great reviews we read, but the service was just terrible. once we let the server know that we spoke english, his demeanor automatically changed and was not very friendly. when we ordered cappuccino we were given essentially a very milky latte, which was not great. we were denied certain services like a pastry tray to choose from, which is what helped us determine this spot is not the place for us. if you are not a native or do not speak spanish DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

This is by far my favorite restaurant out of the whole trip. Located by parque Mexicano, Marque has an outdoor seating area where you can watch many of the residents walk their dogs in this VERY dog friendly area. Before your meal arrives, the server will allow you to pick a pastry from their basket. Their pastries are freshly made each morning and once again the best I've had here. Dishes are all less than $10 which is great considering how good the food is! I ordered Salmon ahumado, a salmon omelette and my friend ordered the well known huevos rancheros. I've been here over 6 times and sometimes the service is incredible, other times the waiters and staff have seemed irritated and impatient.
