Considering the positive reviews, my expectations were set high. Unfortunately, my overall experience fell short. There was a party of 40+ that night and our food took a very, very long time to come out. I even noticed that tables around me were waiting on their food as well. Appetizer for ceviche came out quick but not very cold. It was an average ceviche. I've had better elsewhere. The drinks (marabu mule & spicy mango margarita) were decent. Skirt steak was overcooked. I ordered it medium but received close to well done. My dad's short ribs al carbon were so tiny! Also too charred. My skirt steak was also kinda burnt on the ends. My mom's local fish dish was bland. I enjoyed the side of mashed potatoes.. Best dish we had was the meringue cake. Our server was really nice though. I'm sorry but the food was not great. They automatically charge a 18% service fee which I thought they didn't deserve. Overhyped.

Most important: We came here because we looked for vegan Cuban options online, this has them listed online... There are 0 Vegan options here. So, if that's important to you, that online menu is wrong. Very good food. I loved the Cuban but that wasn't universal at the table. I thought it was thicker yet lighter than average and that was a nice change, other Cubans can be VERY dense. The drinks were very popular, I got a Cuban Old Fashioned. The espresso martini did great too. Great maduros.

Great dinner at this spot! Will come back for sure: must try's: the octopus appetizer (10/10), the tomato salad with strawberries and burrata (same) and the short ribs al carbone. Skip the shrimp and the wine - do a cocktail instead and get 2 of the octopus Lovely service and atmosphere!

If you're near the Brickell city center area, I would recommend coming to Marabu located inside the mall. To my surprise, there's not a lot of Cuban restaurants in the brickle area. You have to go outward a little bit so we were happy to have found something nearby . You can either get seated on their patio or inside. We opted for outside seating. I had their Vaca Frita plate and it was plenty. Service was kind and quick.

Came here based on the great reviews and we were not disappointed! We sat at the bar and the drink menu looked delicious! During the course of the meal I tried the traditional Mojito, Guava Mojito and the Cuban Old Fashioned, they were all absolutely fantastic. We had the pork and the flank steak both cooked over coals from Cuba. Both meals were incredibly flavorful and the black beans that came with the steak were the best I've ever had. Our amazing bartender Tony highly recommended a traditional Cuban dessert which resembles bread pudding but was delicate and had the best flavors. Overall this is the best restaurant I've been too in a long time. If you're looking for a great meal that is unique and won't break the bank, going to Marabu is the best decision you can make!

Everything from the service to the food phenomenal. The empanadas were really good and the octopus was cooked to perfection, it was like they caught it morning of, so soft and the eggplant to accompany it was just a chefs kiss. I don't know what they put in the egg plant but WOW. It was so good Ribeye didn't feel like 18oz but nonetheless it was still good. I'm not sure if I'd order again. My three sides were plantains, fries, and yucca. The yucca here is definitely different that what I've had in the past. The texture was similar to a mozzarella stick lol Plantains were sweet and so good! Octopus and Eggplant: 10/10!! Empanadas: 8/10! Ribeye: 7/10! Fries: 3/10 Yucca: 5/10 Plantains: 7.5/10 Service: 8/10

Came here to celebrate my grandmother's birthday and it was such a great choice. This place truly and accurately represents Cuban cuisine. We ordered a passion fruit mojito, and it was exceptionally made -- refreshing, well-balanced, and the perfect way to start the meal. The meats, cooked over coal, had that incredible smoky flavor that made them stand out. You can really taste the difference in quality and preparation. The fried rice was packed with flavor, and the lechón asado came with yuca and morro -- all perfectly cooked and so satisfying. To finish, we had Abuela's torrejas (bread pudding) for dessert, and it was the star of the night. The dulce de leche ice cream on top made it absolutely incredible and tied everything together perfectly. Overall, it was a great experience with fast service, amazing food, and a beautiful way to celebrate. We'll definitely be returning.

Wow! Coal-fired Cuban cuisine is unique and flavorful. The smoked masas de puerco was presented over charcoal. It was tender and tasty. The delicious Marabu Mule had the addition of guava. We also enjoyed the Marabu Ceviche with citrus marinated fish and shrimp, crispy corn nuggets and sweet potato chips. Marcia provided the best service. We appreciated her educating us on Cuban food. The ambience gave us a taste of Havana.

Best happy hour in an outdoor mall. On top of the great shopping Brickell Center has , they also have some great restaurants to dine in once you get hungry and those restaurants all have great happy hours but Miami is known for having great Cuban food so I'm gonna do Marabu. The mojitos were amazing and the food was too. I went on a Wednesday at 4 pm and got some nice outdoor seating to enjoy my apps. I also had the steak but honestly those sweet plantains stole the show for me as well as those tostones.

We tried Marabu on a whim as we were staying overnight in Miami before a cruise. We wanted something that was different and unique. The location is inside an outdoor shopping plaza so it was a little hard to find because it was on a top floor but the ambiance was great! The food fantastic and the service was awesome. You can't go wrong for a little date night while you are in Miami.

Took us over an hour to get food, and it was way too salty compared to nearby places. for the price you would think the service would at least match a cracker barrel or apple bees, but no dice. The table lights were cute though and ambience was nice, but you can get that at plenty of other places too. read more

Tony the bartender was amazing, he was very attentive even though he was the only bartender on duty. Great service and great food. First time I have ever had Cuban food and this place delivers a great ambiance and experience. Michael the manager checked on me more than once and made me feel like a VIP. Absolutely incredible experience. Let me preface by saying we are two Indiana boys whose idea of a fancy dinner is heading to a local Culver's for a butterburger. The service was anazing from start to finish. Our waitress, Ayeli, was extremely kind and gave us great recommendations. The manager of the restaurant, Michael, talked to every table and checked in with us all whilst actually working and helping the wait team. Plates were cleared fast and are glasses were never less than half full. Our food was incredible, Cuban fried rice with 4 different meats, charcoal grilled pork (which came to us on a small personal grill with hot charcoals in the bottom), and Mojitos and Sangria. 10/10 and the highlight of our trip! read more

Came here on a spontaneous night, was not planned at all. Restaurant is located on the 3rd floor. We had no reservations and we got sat at the bar. Our server/ bar tender was Tony. HE WAS AMAZING definitely a 20/10. He was extremely nice and very attentive. The food was great!!! I'm from Hialeah, Cuban food was as good as the one back home. The decorations are adorable, cute for the pictures. I enjoyed watching the bartenders climb up and down the latter to grab liquor bottles. Place is located with vintage decor. read more

Such a lovely choice! We got in late from LA and needed dinner at 9, this place was close and had good reviews. Marcia was very helpful with recommendations and helping us choose between options- everything was very delicious! I can't remember the name but my boyfriend got a classic pork dish and it was amazing! I got the Pan Con Bistec sandwich- it was HUGE and the tomato chimichuri was phenomenal! I needed an extra side of it take with my half sandwich that was leftover (my bf is a very big guy and usually finishes my plate but the portions were very generous) Sangria was tasty as well. Cute place!! It's in the brickell city center so make sure you go inside first then go upstairs, I got a little confused on the way there. Ordered a couple things to share and they were pretty good! First was the truffle yuca fries, not my favorite but still okay. The salmon tartare was very good, and the tuna poke bowl was also very tasty. I ordered a passion fruit mojito and it was a little weak but it was still a pleasant experience. Will return :) read more

Marabu is perfectly placed in Brickell City Center. Once located, it feels nice inside. The vibe is fitting to the culture of the restaurant and it is clean. The food is good. I ordered the Tuna bowl (seared tuna) and a red sangria (delicious sangria) and my husband ordered the Vaca Frita with a cuban Old fashion (he said it was okay). The Moro rice that came with the Vaca Frita was delicious and the platano maduro was perfect. The tuna bowl was okay. I wasn't crazy about it because the toppings weren't ripe, so the texture was off. The customer service was great, though. read more

Coworker suggested to try this spot for lunch and we were both glad we did. She is particularly picky with her Latin food but gave this place a Thumbs up! and so did I!! :-) I ordered that vaca frita which came with white rice and black beans and it was soo yummy. They served a pretty good size so it is possible to have some left over to take home for a later time. We had also ordered the croquetas as starters and I have to say that they were one of the best ones that I have tried. The service was also good, not over the top good but it was good enough. This is a place that I will definitely go to again. Maybe I will try it for dinner the next time to check out the vibe at night. read more

I really couldn't get enough of Miami food! The food at Marabu was SOOO good! We were greeted immediately and sat inside, as the outdoor patio was too hot to dine at. The best way to try a new place is to order samplers. We ordered a couple sample platters to try and had a mini feast. The service was wonderful and the staff were very attentive. I love love Cuban food, so I was very excited to try their menu items. It's hard to say which one was my favorite because they all tasted amazing. They were very flavorful and delicious. Hispanic food is one of my favorites, so I was very happy to indulge in all the good food they had here. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely return when I come back to Miami. read more

Really liked this restaurant! It's in a mall so I wasn't expecting much but the ambience was nice with well decorated areas and sports tv. Staff was nice as well and provided quick service. We got the Cubano and pan con lechon - the side salad was a little dry but the sandwiches were great. I'm spending a night in Miami before my cruise leaves tomorrow, so I was super hungry after not eating all day. I wanted to try Cuban food, and Marabu had great Google reviews, so I wound up there. Everything I had was delicious. For an app, I got the ham croquettes. I wasn't very sure about getting them since I'm not big on ham, but I'm so glad I did. They were so cheesy, savory, and crispy. I usually expect breaded food to be a bit greasy, but these weren't at all. And the dipping sauce paired very well with them. For my entree, I got the Cuban fried rice, which was also delicious. It had such a good balance of flavors. The BBQ ribs in it were fall-off-the-bone tender, and everything went well together. I haven't liked plantains when I tried them in the past, but they added such a nice sweetness to this dish without being overpowering. It was also very filling, so I wound up with leftovers. I also tried 3 drinks: the regular spicy margarita, the daiquiri, and the mango margarita. All were excellent. The daiquiri was super fresh, tart (which I love), and refreshing. The regular spicy margarita was really good, but the mango spicy margarita was amazing. The perfect spice level for me (you could taste a kick, but it wasn't too much). Finally, my waitress was great. She was very attentive and friendly but not in an overbearing/annoying way. Even if the food had just been "okay," I would go back just because of her. Highly recommend coming here. read more

We went to Marabu a little Havana restaurant for dinner. Beautiful patio, lighting and decorations were amazing. We were seated right away. Water and banana chips were served almost as soon as we sat. Our waitress Esmeralda, was super attentive, drinks first, appetizers second.. main dish third. We were served our drinks , appetizers and main dishes in that exact order. We were a large party and dinner was served exactly as we ordered. No mistakes. Food was amazing. Every dish was well prepared and tasted wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant and hopefully you will get Esmeralda to serve you. Excellent service, food and staff. read more

Typical over priced brickell restaurant. Food portion was small. Service was not that attentive. Better off going to get Cuban food off 8th st for 1/3 of the price. I Kept asking for water over and over I Asked for a Diet Coke and of course the only thing they had was a 4$ 8oz Diet Coke. For a being such an expensive brickell place they don't have Diet Coke. with two fucking sips the coke was gone. Also tip is automatically included in the bill so don't fall for the extra tip bullshit unless you want to tip more. Overall the food did taste good and was well cooked but I would not return. read more

Really digged this place for food and drink! Our server Wendy was super attentive to what food interests we had and was very nice! They have a cool selection of cocktails and some local Cuban beer as well! The Cuban beer tropical was easy to drink and went well with the Cuban sandwich. The food at this place was amazing! We got their salad that had thinly sliced pickled radishes on it and no complaints, tasted great! The Cuban was decent! We chose this restaurant based on the reviews, location, and our love for Cuban food. It is located in Brickell City Center, which is always fun to go to even if it does take a minute to navigate. The ambiance is casual-ish. I was good in jeans, a nice shirt, and wedges. You can sit inside or outside, both of which were well-decorated. Our waiter, Carlos was super friendly. We got: Drinks: passionfruit mojito and Cuban old-fashioned, which came out really quickly and were strong with great flavor and presentation. Appetizers: ham croquetas, which were super thick and came with a cilantro crema that complimented it well. Appetizer #2 lol: Tostones rellenos with ropa vieja. This was my favorite thing we got. I'm a sucker for dishes that have a creative twist on a classic, and that's what this was. It was essentially a tostone cup with ropa vieja in the middle, and the order came with 3. This was also a great way to try to ropa vieja, which is one of the entrees I was considering. Both the ropa vieja and tostone were perfect. Entree: vaca frita. It was good, but not the best I've ever had. My husband loved it; I thought it could have more flavor. Overall, it was great! The food, location, ambiance, and service were enjoyable, the food came out quickly, and it was nice for a date night. Definitely a bit expensive though. If I go back, I'd probably get a bunch of appetizers and skip the entree. They also have ropa vieja empanadas, which sounded amazing. read more

I tried the passionfruit mojito (10/10) and it came with a sugar cane, the ham croquetas (10/10) have to be the BEST croquetas I've ever had (that's coming from a Cuban Miami native!!), and the ropa vieja empanadas (7/10) which were yummy but definitely needed more flavor with onions and bell peppers. The ambiance is suuuuuper cute and retro, but the music was horrible for a CUBAN restaurant. It was all radio pop music. Definitely expected Oscar D'León or Celia Cruz to be playing. It was my husbands birthday and I went to the bathroom when thy came out to sing happy birthday, I was so sad that i had planned this whole surprise dinner for him only to miss the birthday song.. HOWEVER they came back and did it again which was just so nice of them and we appreciated it so much. The food was also good, I feel like it was honestly just a bit average, I wasn't disappointed and I did like the food but I felt My cuban family can make half these dishes more flavorful. I liked the sandwich as well, but wouldn't rank it in the upper half on my list. There is a mandatory 20% service charge for all size parties, which was clearly indicated on the menu. It's an 8% sales tax. It could be argued that high prices should be expected for this area, but the mall itself is no longer considered a top destination in Miami. It was a very good salad dressing though, not too tart or heavy but still creamy and zesty. For our entrees we had the cavatelli with duck ragu which was my favorite. There were both crispy and tender elements to the duck and the pasta just melted in your mouth. We saved a tiny bit of it to take home because we couldn't stop nibbling on it, and it was great the next day too. They brought our steak out after our pasta. We should have specified we wanted them at the same time. By the time our steak arrived we were pretty full. The steak was served tender and juicy. We got the Prime Hanger. I appreciated that the server mentioned their two less expensive cuts were very popular instead of trying to upsell us on their pricier options, as we were very happy with this option. We had some steak leftover as well which was delicious the next day too. As it was perfectly medium rare, we were able to heat it up on a skillet without it overcooking much. We ordered the Bernaise sauce with our steak, but it was not necessary and I probably would have skipped it. Service was good and pretty efficient. They made sure to check on us frequently but the meal was good without any additions. I don't remember if when booking I requested an outdoor table but their patio is quite hot in summer. I think they need some outdoor fans to help with the heat as I was shvitzing a bit. If I were to visit again in the summer I would make sure to specify the need for an indoor table, but I'm sure it's lovely in the winter months. There was also the occasionally fly near our food which did kill the mood a bit and some table fans might help with. There is a gravel parking lot next to the restaurant. When we arrived there was only one spot available so it does fill up.

We frequent this upscale Cuban eatery every time we go to the movies @ Brickell Center and it NEVER disappoints! From the warm welcome from the host, to the attentive and prompt waiter to the hustling but not obtrusive buss boys. Then there is the food and drinks! Classics Cuban fair presented in fresh and unique ways ... the lightly crispy croquetas stacked 4 high on a metal / wood spatula accompanied by a cilantro and garlic sauce was amazing And a most order!!! We had the Ropa Vieja empanadas, a trio of stuffed tostones cups w/ criollo shrimp, savory picadillo and that amazing Ropa Viejo and the truffle yuca fries served w/ traditional garlic sauce - I was transported back to my grandmother's' kitchen as soon as theses dishes crossed my lips. My son and I polished that off w/ a made on premise "cuatro leche" - spoiler alert, the 4th leche is a healthy dollop of dulce-de-leche ice-cream tucked in the middle !!! We also enjoyed potent drinks. A classic mojito that included a real slice of sugarcane stock and a skillfully prepared bourbon Old Fashion. And finally there was the superbly attentive service. Tonight the host was the lovely, and charismatic Luna. A native of northern Italy, Luna is a striking tall and slender young woman w/ olive skin, contrasted by long golden curly hues of golden blond hair that draped halfway down her back. She greeted us w/ a genuine warm smile and even put up w/ my corny dad jokes. Luna was not only this way with us but with every guest she interacted with... she was a pleasure to meet and exchange with. Then there was our server, Jenny - a bright, petit, and beautiful young woman w/ impressive dark onyx colored hair worn in a cute high ponytail. Jenny was very observant, attentive and relaxed in her approach and exchange w/ us. She skillfully read the room and tables she was serving ... watching her guests for the slightest need / request even from a far. She did not hover, seemed stressed or made you feel rushed.. Jenny made it feel like you were w/ friends. So did I like the place .. Yes, the food ... Yes !!! And the service ... a most definite YES!!! Be advised this is on the fourth floor of the mall...don't wander around and be late for your reservation like us (although they'll be totally gracious if you are). Carlos was our server and he was so delightful putting up with our indecision as everything on the menu looked incredible. Carlos recommended the house mojito to me - Mojito Marabú- having had a too-sweet mojito elsewhere I was hesitant, but the mint foam was delightfully refreshing and the drink was well balanced. Settled on la ensaladita de pepino to start - fresh and light with a hint of spice. A great starter to whet the appetite, and I will be trying to replicate that vinaigrette at home. Went with the branzino and the whole red snapper after Carlos talked us through options. 10/10 would order again hands down. The Josper grill flavor on the branzino was incredible. And the whole fried fish is prepared for you so you don't have to work through the bones - all the quicker to enjoy it with the irresistible house ponzu sauce. For sides we had maduros, tostones, arroz, yuca frita, y frijoles. I'd maybe skip the tostones next time but the frijoles were perfectly seasoned. I'll also note - my boyfriend is Spanish speaking and I am...Spanish understanding? Just slightly? Server Ivana who waited me on me was and is the nicest and most attentive person you can have as a server. She is always with a smile on her face. She is very professional indeed!! Manager Desiree, Busser Jose, Bartender or Mixologist Miguel( great cocktails) , Chef Yordany were all available and quick to take care of customers' needs. The food was delicious!! At first, our server greeted us in the best way possible. He quickly arranged a table for 9 people and treated us as royalty. The food was good, the drinks were awesome. I dined with Arianna this afternoon and my experience exceeded my expectations! I am traveling from out of state and stopped in the mall with my friends to grab a quick bite to eat and ended up with an unforgettable lunch! Arianna was very attentive and her recommendations for the food were beyond amazing! We got the ribeye and the presentation was nothing like I have ever experienced before, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The food was incredible, we ordered 3 appetizers, the first one was ham croquettes which were cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow... there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Joao was amazing and very personable. Never been here yet made us feel welcome and was extremely attentive. I would come again in a heartbeat!!
