Here celebrating my friend's birthday. The service is decent. we all ordered steaks. When the meal came out, all of our steaks were lukewarm at best. The carrots were cold. When they asked us how is it, we informed them about our meal. They disputed our grievance and said that the food had just come off the grill. The so called upscale restaurant was anything but upscale. Ambiance is more of a bar unless you are sitting in the veranda. The food is less than mediocre which takes forever to come out. Waiting for the food is not an issue because as long as it fresh that's great. What the food had in its presentation, it really lacked in flavor. All of our foods were extra salty and otherwise bland. We had the short rib pappardelle pasta, which was just overly salted. My wife and I have had better pasta at Olive Garden which is really sad. Other than that we had the lobster bisque, baby spinach salad, and their chicken dish. Aside from the lobster bisque nothing was really worth the wait. We were in such a rush to get out of there we didn't care to look at the dessert menu, nor were we asked if everything was alright or if we wanted to see the menu. When a franchised restaurant has better food and frankly when my wife and I don't even want to see the dessert menu it's a bad experience. My friends and I chose Marc as several of the other restaurants at the inn were closed for private events, but it was in no way a lesser experience. From the soups constructed in front of us tableside, to the amazing Brussels sprouts (seriously get them) and mushrooms. The sea salt duck fat carmel as the palate cleanser was amazing. read more

Worst experience ever...booked reservation for 7:30 and wanted a table in the glass area...3 tables open and restaurant empty on the inside. They indicated that the three tables are reserved for 8:30 reservations. Would not give open table to us because we did not specify glass area and 3 tables open. Hour until other reservations show and host is telling us we need to wait until another table opens...30-40 mins. Poor coordination and personality. I would fire the hosts if she worked for me. This restaurant will fail due to staff and flexibility. I complained to the manager and he got aggressive and argumentative to the point were I told him he could read my review on yelp. He starts yelling at me and stated he is going to call security when I started to walk away. The manager even comes around the hosts stand and got face to face with me. I told him to call security. The manager was being extremely aggressive at this point so I left. He comes out of the building where I am standing with my guest and he states our table is now ready. I tell him again that we are leaving. If I could give a zero score I would. He never apologizes and continues to argue with me outside but takes a different approach since others are around. We leave and will not be back. To top this, we had spent hundreds of dollars in the spa that day. Thanks château élan for ending our special day on a low. I brought my mother here for her birthday and she and I both enjoyed our dinner at Marc. The prices were reasonable - the sides are a la carte. We ordered the Porkchop, Flank Steak, Corn Succotash, and Brussel Sprouts. The Flank steak could have had more seasoning but it was tasty. It did have to be remade because it was overlooked, but the manager and chef replaced it with no problems. The sides really stole the show! The bread and seaweed butter was another highlight! So much that we asked for some to go with our left overs. Our waiter was attentive and very nice. My mother was even more surprised when they brought out a birthday cupcake. MARC CHOP HOUSE: We had a dinner reservation at 7:30 PM on 27 November. Upon leaving our room at the spa and arriving at Marc's the abidance was immediately disappointing. As we booked to eat in a Chop House that showed upscale dining we were met with drunken stumbling of those singing and carrying on as they closed up their wine tasting in the same open great hall. We were sat by the bar which was loud with fans, both dining in the restaurant and those walking over from the wine tasting to watch a football game. Felt very much that I was eating in the Atlanta Airport waiting on a layover flight to Mobile, Alabama. Our server took 30 minutes to bring our 1st drink to the table, which would not have been a problem as I understand a bar can get behind but we watched him take and fill other drink orders during this time. We felt continuously forgotten about and disappointed in the service. That said the food was amazing, we were both very happy with our meals. The staff even brought us a slice of cake as I booked the table as a special occasion being our anniversary. Unfortunately, we did not feel that next to the bar looking at the overindulgence of the wine tasting and Saturday night football was the appropriate place to seat a table for such an occasion. read more

I decided to celebrate my birthday here yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased! Service was top notch. Complimentary sparkling wine for me and my guests upon being seated, our steaks were cooked to perfection and the salads were presented beautifully! Also enjoyed the handcrafted cocktails and they presented me with a slice of cake with a birthday candle. The staff was very accommodating and nice. We will definitely be back! read more

Birthday dinner ruined! Usually I don't write reviews, but lately it seems to help other customers. So we were seated a good 15-20 mins when another couple sat next to us, immediately they were offered water as well as drinks before my wife and I (strike 1). Finally a waitress came over and acknowledged we were there took our drink order and my wife decided to order appetizers and salad being we waited so long just to be acknowledged. Our crab cakes came, which were very good. Every other table had complimentary bread with olive oil or butter, but guess what.. we had to ask for ours (strike 2). Then came ordering entrees, my wife was done at that point and didn't want anything more to do with this restaurant, but I ordered the wagyu a $90 steak. The couple seated right next to us ordered (not intimate setting) you are actually sitting right next to other couples. Their food was almost finished before I got an update on my steak. They had a large party so my order was behind. (Strike 3) I canceled!!!! They will not get my green $90 today. The manager a younger lady came over to see if it was something she could do, a nice lady offered drinks and all. At this point no I rather spend my hard earned money somewhere else. This is my husband and I's favorite date night spot! It's a nice but casual atmosphere. The service is excellent. The drinks are delicious. Most of all though, the food is just really good! My husband loves their steaks and I almost always get whatever seasonal vegetarian dish they have, which has always been amazing. Be sure to try the Brussels sprouts! They're killer good. Also ask for extra butter with the bread. We are addicted! It's some special house-made seaweed butter and it's seriously delicious. While the food was good, it certainly wasn't great. I was very disappointed because I ordered filet mignon and the server came to my table about 10 minutes later and told me they were out of filet. The prices are about the same as steak houses like Ruth's Chris and Chops and the food portions and quality are not even close to what those places offer. read more

They do not care about making reservations , I have tried to get reservations for 6 and not possible at a decent hour. Everytime I call I get voice mail, saying to leave a message, they returned one call at 9pm I was sleeping and the voice mail said to call them back and you just get their voicemail again, not worth even trying to reach them. My wife and I showed up and while the building the restaurant was in had un-locked doors, the entire restaurant was closed -- entirely vacant of people. Absurd! Double checked the booking website and then the restaurant website -- both indicated it was supposed to be open. Girl's weekend at Chateau Elan..we ate at Marc Saturday night after a day at the pool and drinking all day! They were very patient with us and gave us fantastic service...we started with the mussels which might be the BEST I ever had, then on to filets and lamb. Wow, it was all incredible! And the Chateau Elan cabernet is fantastic. If it wasn't so far away from Midtown, I would eat here often. Everyone must eat here when visiting Chateau Elan! read more

This was an awful experience. The service was sub-par. The server Collin was inflexible. We asked if the sides were big enough to share, the server said no they were not. Collin told us, they were individual sides. He lied. We wanted to quickly change an order a few minutes after we put it in because we didn't understand that we could add a protein, he said it was too late to change the order because the original order was on the grill. He lied. It took us over 30 minutes to get our food. We were a party of five, which is not considered a large party and he charged us a gratuity and he would not let us split the bill. We were not told upfront that we would not be able to split the bill. He told us that we made a reservation for 8 and because 3 people could not make it, he still treated us like we were a party of 8. This was an abysmal experience. The food was just okay. read more

My wife and I went for our 25th anniversary. Dinner experience was very poor.... ordered cocktails and appetizers... appetizers were delivered and we were asked if we wanted to order our entrees... well we didn't have anything to drink. It literally took 20 min to get a drink... the appetizers were great... Brussels sprouts. Continue forward... we ordered Mahi Mahi - completely undercooked... sent back. I was finished with dinner and my wife's dinner was recooked and delivered. Terrible experience... last straw... bill was delivered and 20% mandatory tip. Never once was I told about the tip... the bill was dropped off with the expectation that I would add more. Amazing experience... happy anniversary to us... excuse was the bartender was "new". We arrived right on time at 6:30pm. The dining room and area by the windows was almost completely empty. They sat us on the right side of the dinning room next to the curtain which happened to be as close as possible to the extremely loud wine tasting area. My wife and I could barely hear each other talk. We promptly asked the waitress to relocated closer to the windows of the sparsely seated restaurant but she informed us that all of the tables were reserved which seemed far fetched. About 10 minutes later they seat a couple next to us who, doesn't wait for the waitress but yet makes the same request to the hostess. This couple was whisked away to the table of their choice immediately. We asked the waitress about the situation and she looked blindsided. Fact it it was not her fault but only that of a poorly managed restaurant. Out waitress (Meesha?) was wonderful and one of the lone bright spots in what ended up being a less than impressive experience. The hostess eventually came over to apologize...I think...between the noise and her accent I could not make a word out of what she said. It was at this point that I noticed that the online menu was about 40% different the one I was looking at. Pictured below is the menu we received at the table. Go to their site and check it out for yourself. I and a pescatarian and specifically came for this dish. Shame on them for not updating the website. Poor attention to detail here. We ordered the Cab which is always good there. The muscles which tasted nice, smelled pungent, and had some sand remaining in them. My wife got the red snapper which was good but not $28 good. I had the tagliatelle which lacked flavor but not water (see picture). It could have been a decent experience but even if they had handled the seating correctly (by the way, the tables by the window remained empty as we left) the food would have fallen short based on the prices charged. Roach!!!My husband and I are well travel individuals but this by far tops the list of the worst customer service we have possibly had within the us and internationally. We decided to have a weekend in Georgia and visit Marc at chateau elan. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service seemed slow but we pushed thru. The turn of events was midway thru our meal when a cockroach crawled down the glass/wall toward the table. We called the waiter over she asked if wanted her to get someone! Of course we did! So another waiter came over to kill the roach. The manger came over and apologized. The meal came to an end and they brought the bill. Yes they brought the bill with no apologizes or changes made. My husband has to request to speak to a manager for them to make an adjustment. As business owners ourselves this was awful customer service. I would never recommend this establishment. read more

To start, the staff was friendly and our waitress was very sweet and personable. As far as the food and ambiance, it was a seriously lacking. The restaurant is very loud, our table was EXTREMELY wobbly (it rotated around the entire time we tried to cut our food), drinks were "meh", I was hoping for more of a real steakhouse vibe from the ambiance but it felt more like a place I'd grab brunch. It felt a bit cafateria-ish. I am generally not that particular about those things but when I'm paying $62 to $80 plus for a steak, I'd like a little ambiance. I just felt very let down by the food and experience. The presentation was blah, the beef carpaccio appetizer tasted like nothing (we had to shake salt all over it for any flavor), the pimento Mac n cheese was really greasy and my husbands waygu steak was VERY disappointing ... tough and grisly.... He's made better steaks at home on the grill. I had the filet which was tender but didn't really have any flavor. My steak was barely lukewarm and my carrots were COLD! It just wasn't what I was expecting from a restaurant charging those prices. We ate our food and it was okay, dessert was cheesecake and again, it was just "meh" at best ... tasted like there was a lot of lemon in the cheesecake which I'm not a fan of. Honestly, after we ate our dinner we were both in agreement that we'd rather go to Longhorn for a steak dinner. I would not ever go back to this restaurant. I agree with another reviewer that it's a bummer that this is Chateau Elan's high end option. It definitely feels like a total rip off at these prices for the quality that you get. read more

My significant other and I went to Marc's on Valentine's Day for lunch. We had made reservations well in advance, upon our arrival the host questioned why we were there as if we didn't belong. Once we were seated the wait staff was rude and standoffish, we never received the wine menu nor was any sort of drinks ever offered. When we received our food the steak, that should have come out medium, came out well done but since the service was so slow we opted to not even attempt to send it back. We asked for our check which out waiter then neglected to pick up after several passes by our table, mind you there were very few people in the restaurant at this time, it was not busy. We eventually asked about the payment and the wait staff became annoyed and said he would get it. Overall it was a very uncomfortable and unsatisfying experience. read more

I came here in 2017 and had one of the best meals of my life. So, this past weekend I brought my girlfriend out to show her the winery and take her to the Marc. I'm giving 3 stars bc the food is still excellent. Like amazing excellent. However, the waiter we had last night was awful. Took him 15 min to introduce himself to us after we were seated. It's one thing for that to happen at Chili's but when I have to have a reservation to sit down and eat I expect prompt service. The appetizers came out timely, but then it took 1hr and 45 min to get our main course. So we were about to fall asleep (and starving) before we were served our main course. Maybe that didn't have anything to do with the wait staff, but then after we finished eating we sat there a good 25 min before I see one waitress who wasn't our come out from the back, see us, make a surprised face, I audibly hear her ask our waiter if he knew we were still there, and I audibly hear him say he forgot about us. Then the waitress (who hadn't waited on us) ended up bringing our check. The guy never apologized or even said anything. So the food is amazing at this place. I'll probably go back since I didn't have this problem the first time I came. And the winery is amazing. So, def don't skip this place. But beware - you might want to make sure you get there early if you're hungry. read more

I LOVE the renovation!!! the waiter was very nice and there wasn't a long wait at all. my entree and dessert was fabulous. I highly recommend the seared sea scallops and yellow grits. For dessert you have to get the New York cheese cake. I really think everyone should go to the newly renovated bar and restaurant. But the reason i only gave it four stars is because i was walking past the main entrance and saw an ambulance. It somewhat pains me to leave this review, as this used to be my favorite restaurant on the property for dinner, but things have changed. I hope management decides to make some changes, as I see others have similar complaints. There were 2 of us (friends) and dinner took over 3 hours because our order was lost somewhere along the way. After almost 2 hours of waiting they brought out some bread. Okay, that can happen and I'll forgive that lack of service, and I HOPE that is not typical. What we DID find absolutely ridiculous is that the waiter completely refused to split our check down the middle...just straight down the middle, no special requests. There are TWO people at the table, they had totally dropped the ball losing our order and we were informed that they no longer can split any checks. Are you kidding me?! We were never told this up front. Just after we were informed of this "news", our waiter addressed a table of 4 young ladies next to us, who were trying to figure out who was going to foot their entire bill. They looked pretty stressed. We did not experience this at any other restaurant on the property (and we went to all of them), nor was I informed of this new practice when I made my reservation. read more

My wife and I recently spent 4 days at Chateau Elan celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We thought we were saving the best for last, making reservations for 6:30pm at the Marc Bar & Restaurant. I ordered the filet, medium (hot pink center) with a loaded baked potato (diet forgotten) and my wife ordered a pasta meal. We also ordered a nice bottle of the Chateau's wine. In less than 10 minutes after we ordered our meal, the waiter brought our food--which was red flag #1. He immediately disappeared (despite our two empty wine glasses) which was red flag #2. No biggie--I can pour my wine. But we soon found out that apparently, my steak had been cooked long before we arrived as it was a warm gray in the middle. The butter and cheese on top of my potato was hot, but a half inch into the potato, it was as cold as the inside of a refrigerator--where it likely was 3 minutes before arriving at our table. I didn't want to ruin the mood, wasn't all that hungry anymore, and the wine and company was good enough that I ate half of the steak and half the potato and moved on. Yes, I know that I should have made a quiet 'fuss' with the waiter--but he never returned until he brought the bill! He mumbled through his mask that the Marc automatically adds a 20% gratuity to each bill, turned and walked away. We paid and walked out. Yes, I should have asked for the manager, yadda, yadda, but I didn't want to spoil the evening any more. We will never, ever, return to the Marc nor will we suggest the same to our friends. read more

Easter brunch...A special place and a special meal. Restaurant itself is clean, neat and has a spectacular view of the vineyards. Mixed drinks were well made and potent. We ordered the Brasstown Beef Coulotte and the Eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. Dessert was the buttermilk pie, best I've ever eaten.
