Had a work dinner at Marc last night and I would say the overall rating of 3.5 I'd pretty spot on. Not having that option I gave a 4. I would say service was good but not exceptional. We had several apps for the table the Seared Tuna was by far the table favorite. I had the seafood pasta seafood and pasta cooked very nicely but the white wine sauce which was actually a white wine cream sauce was very heavy for the dish. Beautiful setting with the vineyards in the background. All in all not a bad experience just could use some refinement for the $$
My now fiancé and I got engaged at Chateau Elan the weekend before last! For our engagement dinner, he had a reservation booked at Marc Bar & Restaurant. The restaurant is inside the winery, across the hall from the bar where we did our wine tastings earlier in the day. At 9pm, we entered Marc and were seated promptly. After perusing the menu, we ordered several things. We started with the fried green tomatoes for our appetizer (which were the best we've ever had! Every element came together for a truly amazing dish). Next, we each ordered a cup of the soup of the day (our waiter had said that it was seafood soup, but we found out after tasting that it was some kind of beef stew. My fiancé is a pescatarian who hasn't eaten meat in several years, so it was quite the shock. Our waiter checked with the kitchen and apparently they had just run out of the seafood and replaced it. Our waiter apologized and offered to bring another option). My fiancé went with the Caesar salad, which was classic--apologies for me forgetting to snap a pic of it. I still ate the soup, which was very yummy. The meat was so tender in it! The complimentary bread brought to our table (we asked for a couple more baskets) was so simple but incredible, with an orange honey butter. For my entree, I got the seared scallops from the starter section. They were so soft and flavorful. My fiancé got the blackened snapper pappardelle, which was very tasty as well. For dessert, we decided to go with something we couldn't get just anywhere, so we chose the orange poppy dessert. It was so unique and special. Along with our dessert, our attentive and welcoming server brought us each a glass of complimentary champagne to celebrate... a very nice touch! We enjoyed everything and look forward to hopefully returning soon.
We made reservations for my dinner here and I'm happy we did! Once we arrived the host was attentive. Our server Colin was very helpful with specials and drink options. But I came for the prime ribeye! which was cooked to perfection. Staying at Chateau Elan or not you must come to this beautifully crafted restaurant. It's amazing for date night, girls night, and appears to accommodate large parties.
What a lovely find If you go into the Wine Tasting room in Chateau Elan you find Marc Bar & Restaurant immediately across. Pros - Location Wait staff was excellent Food was ok Drinks were good Great for large groups or intimate dinner Inside /outdoors dining available Con - My filet mignon was over - salted and over cooked. I requested medium well and was served a well-done steak. Request salad to be shared- waiter brought the salad and told us we can split it- A great restaurant would have separated the servicing in the kitchen Food did not taste fresh
We had the best experiences in service at Marc's Restaurant! Cannot speak highly enough about our waiter! Located in the winery castle, they have a patio space for a lovely brunch and a full dining area with bar for dinner. Our favorite of the restaurants on the Chateau Elan grounds is Marc Restaurant & Bar. Here you can dine in the winery castle at this restaurant with their southern-inspired chophouse and brunch fare. We had brunch here on the first morning and loved it. It has something for everyone from the spicy and sweet hot honey chicken biscuits or my favorite the duck confit hash loaded with potatoes, fried onions, and savory egg. John opted for the stellar sweet crunchy waffle board loaded with fruit, nuts, chocolate and whipped cream, then drizzled with syrup. For dinner on our first night, we enjoyed the best dining experience at the Marc Restaurant, as well. We started with fried green tomatoes that are crunchy outside and tender inside. It is paired with a delicious spicy jalapeno ranch sauce and some funky goat cheese. On top of that we tried the BBQ braised short rib, a sweet barbecue pulled short rib on top of a tasty baguette, rich balsamic and a sweet and tangy tomato jam. Plus, the Herbist floral gin cocktail is refreshing and light. Floral and herbaceous green chartreuse, a hint of honey, sage, and lime. The main courses we tried at Marc's were the tender grilled lamb chops and the perfectly cooked ribeye steak. The lamb chops were my favorite, thick and tender, seasoned lamb, that is one of the best I've had in a while. The ribeye steak is again, perfectly cooked and seasoned! They send out a bunch of sauces for their meats and I really enjoyed the tangy and spicy horseradish cream and herbaceous chimichurri for the lamb and the rich demi for the steak. On the side, I got the brussels sprouts that are tender, sweet, but have a kick on the end and the flavorful, rich, braised collards. We ended the night with the delicious, sweet, brown sugar port they make at Chateau Elan. And we can't get over the service at Marc's! It was perfect.
My Bestie surprised me with dinner here and it was really nice. The staff and waiter was very attentive. The drinks (Lemon Drop Martini), Fried Green tomatoes were seasoned well and good. I had the snapper, it was bit on the crispy side but really good and filing. I wish it had more of a cream sauce as it set on a bed of noodles which, which I do recall seeing in the description. Either way was still good. Recommend if you're in the area, the place is really a Vibe and I'm sure even better in the spring/fall time. We sat by the windows so made it a bit chilly. Be prepared, it is a la carte, just so you know.
The ambiance was great. It's soon as you walk into Château Elan on the left side. I went in for a wine tasting and had reservations about 8pm. I was about to speak with the staff to move up my reservations as I finished with the wine tasting a bit early. They are big on knowing if you have a special occasion. The table for two is fairly small and packed with menu's and plates I just asked the waiter to remove a few items that weren't needed. Overall the food was great the only dish I did not like was the macaroni & cheese. Everything else was great even down to the bread. Very flavorful, perfectly seasoned, warm very Demure lol.
Sexy ambiance, sexy servers, not sexy food. I had a salad that was spilling over its too-small plate, making a mess on the table. I know that it was meant to be a polite gesture, but I felt like a freaking slob when the server brought a damp napkin over, moved my plate, and wiped the table down. BUT the salad (I added salmon on top which turned out to be a very generous portion) was delicious, and my spouse's ribeye with broccolini and fries were also very good. It would be nice if there were more options for sides at lunch because that was it - two pieces of broccolini and some fries. The cost is atrocious (my lunch salad with the salmon was $40) but it's a resort and I totally get that that's built into the cost. I'd made a reservation for lunch figuring that a Saturday during the holidays would be busy with parties, wine tastings, weddings etc .. but when we walked in, I almost thought that it wasn't open yet. There was nobody there, like crickets and tumbleweeds. The hostess was gorgeous and friendly and said we would've needed the reservation regardless, which I didn't quite understand since there were 3 servers, 0 tables occupied. It did get busier the longer that we were there. She'd asked if we were celebrating an occasion (even though I'd already filled that in on the reservation) and I told her it was my 3 year "cancerversary" so it was thoughtful for the server to bring us a bottle of champagne wrapped up to-go rather than serving us a dessert or a drink because I really wasn't feeling booz-y at lunchtime. Of all of the restaurants on the property, this one I would definitely return to. While the menu was short and simple, the food was prepared perfectly and tasted great, and the setting, ambiance and experience were all memorable.
This literally was the worst experience in my entire life!!!!!!! I am still in shock, hurt and shaken to my core, I pride myself on giving detailed and honest reviews, and I advise you to read this one in full. We were greeted kindly and the kindness stopped there. It took the waitress a long time even to come over just to take drink orders. They said that there were some large parties in front of us, but at the end of the day what we saw was that they were understaffed and this had been the case at each other restaurants throughout the resort. This place is reservation only so they should've been prepared for the guests that were arriving. We waited for our food for over an hour and we were very much getting upset. When they finally bought the scallop appetizer, it was actually delicious.... But nothing else came. The table next to us asked us how long we have been waiting because they were getting upset as well and we informed them that we have been waiting over an hour. They came after us and had been waiting a similar amount of time and were voicing their frustration because they were starving . When the food finally came, it was a complete battle because nothing was right. All three of the people that ordered steaks were not happy with the way that steaks were cooked. My friend ordered the $150 wagyu, which did not look like any I'd ever seen and we've had plenty. Instead of the manager trying to fix anything she came over an initiated an argument, saying that it was wagyu and telling them their food was cooked right . It was truly shocking and unbelievable with the the back-and-forth. Her customer service was horrendous!! The fish in my dish was ok, but nothing else was really good about it. Needed a ton of salt and pepper. The lobster my friend had wasn't cooked through and he was very upset. At the end, my friend said just take everything back bc she didn't even want to eat anything . The manager rudely said she will have to pay for the two sides that she did not consume . Please see video. Never in my life at a supposed 5 star restaurant have I had a manager aggressively tell you that you have to pay for something that you didn't eat. She left and the rest of us paid for our food. As we were leaving the table next to us had saw the argument with the manager and they were conversing very kindly and asked us what happened . when I turned around the manager was behind me saying that I was bothering the people and she had already called the police. The people at the table said no, we engaged with her and was asking her questions and we were just chatting. The Manager was mad about the whole situation and called the police and tried to have me charge with criminal trespassing. I could not believe it. I'm still in shock and heartbroken by the cruelty. I was shake to my core! Never in my life have I been in any kind of trouble with the law. Needless to say we left but I started video recording for my protection and safety and have the video footage of the people saying that I did not bother them and they asked us a question when we were on the way out the restaurant. When I told the police that I didn't do anything, he said " this is Georgia, you don't have to do nothing". What??? My rights were severely violated. All I can tell everyone is never ever go here! It was the most harrowing and disturbing experience of my life. The night manager is a special kind of cruel to treat someone so poorly, and then threaten to have them arrested for just being unhappy with the food and service. It was horrid and when you spend that kind of money you don't expect to be treated like that.
Are here at Cheateau Elan and had a great time. I ordered a Tomahawk Steak to share with Asparagus and Mac and Cheese. I wish the Mac and cheese was more actual cheese instead of saucy. But it was good. The ambience was great for a girls birthday trip and a sexy environment. The service was great as well!
This place was beautiful, not just inside but outside also! The food was exceptionally delicious and visually pleasing! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and he was extremely attentive to us. We had a great time there!
Overrated and underwhelming. To pay $50 for a steak then watch a bunch of drunks wine taste and puke in the bathroom wasn't a very nice dinner out. Service was good minus the server knowing nothing about wine LOL We had drinks at the bar but the bartender was training a new bartender when they just opened on a Saturday night. Didn't seem logical but whatever. Took awhile to get drinks bc she was well, training. Food wise it was decent. The steak was overcooked so we had to send that back. My scallops were good. Overall food was decent but not mind blowing for the price. I would eat somewhere else.
We had a great dinner after our wine tasting. We had a bottle of veuve champagne two of us ordered prime steak and I had the Wagyu. I started with the wedge salad. We were deprived with a delicious rose cocktail to wish me a happy birthday as well as a crème brûlée dessert. Hassan our waiter was fantastic.

If we're gonna visit Château then we had to stop by Marc's. This place is amazing!!! Food: Everything was good and we will definitely be dining at Marcs Again. They had a limited menu due to Covid, but will be releasing their full menu again soon. Caesar salad: The salad was fresh and covered in dressing which is a plus for me. Most people skimp one Caesar salads, but not here. The croutons were made in house and went well with the creamy dressing. It's a large portion so we decided to share it as an appetizer. Marc Burger: There are burgers and then there are Marc Burgers and it was nothing short of amazing. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. Topped with lettuce, grilled onion and cheese that went well with the overload of crispy bacon. It was so big I couldn't finish mine, but I did try. Cheesecake: It was perfect texture and the crust had hints of cinnamon, but just a hint. The fresh strawberries, whipped cream and sweet drizzle made it the perfect pairing after dinner. It was very rich so we shared a slice. Highly recommended! Wine: our wine was a semi sweet red champagne that paired well with our meal and we ended up getting a bottle at the tasting room to go. Service: Our server was Hassan and he was very nice and knowledgeable. He suggested wines for us, offered tasting and even checked on us every few minutes. He made our visit even more special by making real conversation and not giving us a second to ask for anything. He was always two steps ahead with everything. Atmosphere: We were seated on the patio area and no one else was dining so it seemed pretty exclusive. We had a perfect view of the vineyard and some nice music. Cost: Our ticket was $145 for two Marc Burgers, Side Caesar salad, Bottle of Dolce Rosso champagne and cheesecake. I think that's a pretty fair price, but when the food is that good it's hard to care. Overall: We love this place and will definitely be back. Can't wait until the full menu resurfaces, but for now they're doing an amazing job keeping the service great and the people safe! read more
I went here for my birthday this past weekwns and we had a large partyof 14. We had an amazing time. The food was amazing the waiter was kind and attentive and did not miss one order. The chef came out a spoke us and we had an amazing conversation. She told us about how she got the be head chef at this wonderful establishment and was truly a delight. I had the stuffed trout, and salmon flat bread. These are a must try.I did not hear any complaints from the table. I would advise to pace yourself if you are there all day I regret not having wine at dinner only because I drank wine all day . This experience was truly one for the books! read more

We had a lovely dinner with Johanna as our server. She was very knowledgeable and friendly! Our food was just as amazing as our server. Between the four in our party, we got the pork tenderloin, the grouper, the scallops, and petite filet. They were all delicious and we couldn't have been happier with our experience! read more
Me and my husband dined here for lunch while we're guests at the hotel for the weekend. The overall dining area is beautiful and spacious. The customer service was impeccable! Lex was our server . He was very professional, provided detail information about the menu and the resort , and was pleasant and friendly . We ordered a couple of cocktails, soup and sandwiches. The Marc old fashion was good , but a little sweet . The pear martini was good , but a little to sweet as well . Terrible experience made us walk out! See attached pictures! We went to Chateau Elan for a wine tasting special they had going on. While there, we thought about dinner and noticed The Marc restaurant inside the same building. We went to the host stand and made a reservation for 7:30, no problem. As we walked through the restaurant, I noticed the place was 85% full. I also noticed that not one person had an entree. I saw a few salads but no meals. That was a red flag. We requested a patio seat and were sat in the covered closed in patio. To my surprise, the view was terrible. We had an AC unit in view, a gravel lot, terrible landscaping with weeds, and a partial vineyard view. No big deal, maybe the food is awesome. We were poured water from the bottle on the table and then waited. We waited for 15 minutes to order a drink AT A WINERY! While waiting, my fiancée found a hair in her water that was obviously not hers. I switched glasses from another nearby table. Still waiting, I then noticed a dead fly on my fork. I noticed this when the rolls came to the table and I reached down for a knife. We were done. We got up and walked toward the door. A manager stopped us and asked why we were leaving. I explained all of this and he offered a bottle of wine while apologizing. I declined the offer as I wasn't there for a free bottle of wine, we wanted dinner. From the look of it, it was going to take an hour to get a meal. There were 60 ppl ahead of us to be served and it was obvs they were overwhelmed. So I wrote an email to the restaurant manager and the food and beverage manager. Having worked in the restaurant business before, I always appreciated receiving feedback from guests when I was a manager. I guess they didn't. I didn't hear anything back in two weeks. There are other options in Braselton with better ambiance, better service, and better experiences. read more

The places was booked but a guy walked up while I was standing in front of the host inquiring and cancelled so I literally got in by the grace of God ! The place is beautiful although I could not be seated on the patio as requested. My server was Lex who provided outstanding service . I had the Seabass which was really good, my cousins had the trout and a steak which they said were also good l. Everything was perfection !! read more

We we t to Marc Bar for lunch, this past Saturday, and had a great experience. My husband ordered steak with fries, and when it was my turn to order, there was a bit of a problem since I eat plant based and there was nothing for me to eat. The waiter was saying I could just order broccolini, so I sent him to ask the chef what he could make for me. The chef came out to speak to me and to ask what my preferences were. He made me a nice veggie dish. Hopefully, they create at least two options for people who eat plant based. read more

Had a reservation for a Saturday night while staying on the property. We ordered scallops for appetizer (I really wanted beef tartar but they'd just run out). They were delish and a great start to our meal. We chose to share a 20oz cowboy ribeye with sautéed 'shrooms and lemon risotto. My half of the steak was amazingly tender, perfectly medium rare, and well seasoned. The other half of the steak was very chewy. I'm not sure what happened but it was odd. The Cab Sauv was a perfect pairing. It was all topped off with vanilla creme brûlée and a shot of Grand Marnier. If you've never had GM with CB, you haven't lived. I took off one star for the half chewy steak but other than that, I highly recommend for date night, special occasions or even just because. read more

This restaurant gets my rare 5 stars because the food was truly exceptional. I had to complement the chef because of how well the meat was prepared. I had the ribeye steak and it was Cooked to perfection. The sweet potato soufflé was a perfect complement in flavors as well as the steak sauce that they make in house. I was happy to pay the premium price for such a delectable meal. Perfect place for an extravagant date night. read more
Came here with my husband on a double date night with some friends of ours. It was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant had a couple large parties but not a lot of servers. Our friends arrived about 20 minutes before us (we were running late as usual!) and had ordered drinks and an appetizer but once my husband and I were seated we waited about 10-15 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink orders. In general the service was a bit slow the whole evening. We were not brought any bread until I asked, which was after our soup appetizers arrived, didn't have our waters refilled regularly, etc. things you would expect from a "nice" restaurant. The food was tasty from what I recall- we ordered the spicy fried cauliflower and Brussels sprouts as sides to share, both very good. For my entree I got the eggplant steak which sat on a really yummy peanut hummus and some nice capers and olives. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners, although to be honest I'm writing this review 3 weeks after having dined there and neither my husband or I has the foggiest ides what he ordered. So I guess it wasn't that memorable for him! (Also he had the misfortune of trying to order several beers that they had just run out of- literally 3 of his choices.) Overall it was a nice dining experience but I don't think I will be anxiously returning anytime soon. read more

Went last Sat for lunch . Originally reserved for 1pm for two , but came early at 12:30pm. The hostess was very accommodating . I was looking forward to having a meal here with my companion . Started off with the waiter who seemed to be not very friendly , maybe he's having a not so good day , I got the vibes of not feeling very welcoming. Ordered two drinks - the gin ( forgot the name ) mix drinks and was disappointed because it tasted like water blah . Also ordered the cheese + charcuterie, not tasty and lacking with presentation , quantity , and taste . Again , was disappointed with that . I will have photos posted later . Will get straight to the point . Companion ordered the Angus burger - that was good and the fries also . I ordered the Poulet Rouge fried chicken for $20. I don't mind paying that amount but for that price for chicken I want to be feeling good . It was nothing to write home about . One area of the the skin was burnt. One more thing , before we ordered the drinks , I asked the waiter if they have the famous Brussel sprouts I read about here in yelp . He informed me that it's only served for dinner but will ask the chef if it can be served at lunch . Up to the end of the meal , I didn't get any reply from him about the Brussel sprouts . If he's supposed to find out for me , I expect a yes or no reply . I am giving this restaurant a two star because of the disappointing drinks , charcuterie, and my chicken meal . I will not come back to this place for a meal and I actually told my colleagues at work on Monday that I will write a two star yelp review . Knowing that people work hard , I still gave a 23% tip. read more

My most recent experience with Marc was different from ones I've had in the past. This past Saturday evening, my husband, cousin, and I visited Marc after tasting in the tasting room. When we arrived to the hostess stand I expressed surprise to hear that there would be a 45 minute wait given that the restaurant was mostly empty, to which the hostess replied the wait was so that we could have the best service given the limited amount of servers. I don't remember what exactly was said next - I think maybe I said something like "I'm just surprised, we come here often and have never had to wait." To which she responded "I'm here every Saturday." I wasn't sure how that comment was helpful or what it added to the conversation and we kind of just walked away to wait. Fast forward 35 minutes and the couple who waited in line behind us at the hostess stand was seated ahead of us so I approached the hostess stand again to see how much longer we'd have to wait. When I got there she said that she told us 8:30 but she'd seat us then, as if she were doing us a favor. People get seated at restaurants all the time before the time they're quoted, so I wasn't sure why she felt the need to remind us when she said she'd seat us before (obviously this was a point of contention; I don't think we'd forget). I asked if there were any tables in the patio area with the windows overlooking the vineyard (where we always sit) and she simply said no. I prefer that room but not a huge deal as it was getting dark by that time anyways. I don't recall what was said after that but as we sat down she said to us "I am just the hostess." Obviously. I am a tone person. And the way she spoke to us (couldn't help but notice we were the only customers of color in the entire restaurant) communicated to me that we weren't valued as customers. As a high school, college, and graduate student I previously worked in customer service and I would NEVER have felt comfortable speaking to a customer in that tone. I can't say for sure that it was a race thing but it was probably a race thing. I typically wouldn't let one teenage hostess with a poor attitude deter me from patronizing a business, but I often bring our out of town guests to Chateau Elan and I can't comfortably bring friends and family here knowing that the service provided ranges so widely and might not be up to our standards on any given day. It's simply not worth the hour drive from downtown. I will say that the manager tried to come over and smooth things over afterward which was appreciated but I felt like he was listening but not hearing me. As if my words were going in one ear and out the other. Now onto the positives. The restaurant is cute. The food is delicious. On the lunch menu, we like the angus burger, the beef coulotte, the shrimp and grits, and the kale salad. On the dinner menu, any of the steaks are a good choice; we also like the tagliatelle. The bread and especially the butter are to DIE for. Seriously, that butter is amazing. It's the best butter I've ever had in my life. Overall it's a nice restaurant, and we usually have decent service. Despite the hostess dampening the mood, our waiter was quite nice and accommodating, as they usually are. Chateau Elan is under new management and with changes to the wine club (we're members) and the overall decline of service we've witnessed, it's no longer worth the trek. We might go one more time, just to enjoy the wine (and I want to try brunch at Versailles!), but there are plenty of restaurants downtown at which that one can enjoy a similar ambiance and high quality food (and excellent customer service). A note on the photos - they were from older visits and I'm not sure if they still do the birthday desserts given that much is changing at the winery/resort. read more

Sit on the patio and look at the vineyard! Avocado toast is superb! Service is not very attentive, and found lunch entree took way too long to come out. Waiting... Ok so my falafel burger finally came out, as I was typing. Holy cow this burger is good!! Could be warmer, though, but the taste is awesome. No feta since I'm a vegan, but I bet the feta would really set it off. Still only four stars, but worth a visit for the food. Expect service to be more like Europe than US. read more

One of the things I most enjoy on my travels is the experience of the meal. I truly feel it's not about eating but the feelings you have throughout the entire experience. The property (venue) is breathtaking, the food was excellent and the service was exceptional. You stroll from the chateau's inn to the Marc. It is the signature restaurant situated in the winery. A beautiful Christmas tree made of wine bottles greeted us. The glass was sparkling like prisms in every angle. After we were sat and greeted by our server (Colin), the GM Rodney Helper stopped by our table. He was friendly, informative and made us feel at home. The Winery Chef ... was a talented delight. We had a wonderful discussion with her and best of all... her dishes were fabulous. The evening would that have been complete without acknowledging our ... bartender .... another exceptional professional. Great mixologist!!! To start, I ordered the Sangria and Alexis the "bartender's choice" with gin. The drinks were on point! For our meals, I had the sea scallops. My scallops were perfect! Alexis ordered the filet mignon and my meat lover was highly pleased. I highly recommend the Marc. Make a weekend of the chateau and reservations at the Marc. read more

The server Colin was horrible! He took too long to take our party of 5's order. He did not inform us the bill could not be split. He charged a 20% gratuity for us because the reservation was for 8 even though he only served 5. I wanted to make a change to my order and he told me I could not because he already put it in but it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive and it was luke warm on arrival. His service focused on other parties rather than our party. The food is over priced and not exceptional. read more

Experienced my first charcuterie board here. I usually shy away from them because I don't typically care for aged cheese and meats, but I was in the mood to try one on my visit to The Marc. It was stellar as well as my entree and the service. I wish I had taken the server's name down because she was excellent. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu. read more

Heard about the renovation at Chateau Elan and was looking forward to checking is out. Made 7:30 reservations on Friday night-when we arrived the restaurant was mostly empty. And then the hostess sat us on the enclosed patio next to exit door.....meal was decent but for the money- go to cotton calf in Braselton - atmosphere and service is 5 star. Fantastic food! a little on the pricey side but that's to be expected for the location. Our server was insanely friendly and sweet. the atmosphere was great and the view was perfect. To start with I ordered one of the Gin drinks, the doc and the roasted beet salad. Delicious way to start a meal! Main course was wild mushroom ravioli for me with a glass of velvet reserve and snapper for my date. We ordered general tso Brussel sprouts and sweet potato for the sides. All of it was amazing. The snapper skin was crisp and delicious, the pasta was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Since it was my birthday we went big for dessert and got the buttermilk pie with a port.
