I had called and asked for a rough estimate on doing a Muffler delete and resonator delete on my 4 series bmw and the front desk person named Megan told me it was somewhere around $500-800 and that she can't give an exact estimate over the phone (Which means they have to look at my car first). Not really sure what could make a $300 difference but okay moving on.....I originally take all my cars to the muffler shop on Florin but I decided to do atleast a muffler delete anyways and then do the rest of the work somewhere else since they were the only place available to take me in. Drove in traffic and took time off work to come drop off my car. Met Megan face to face and I told her I just wanted to get the Muffler deleted and go for the quad tips setup, and I told her that I have the tips in my car already. Im not really sure how she still gave me a quote without actually getting out of her seat and looking at my car. But apparently she has super vision and could see my cars exhaust setup from a distance. So I got quoted 250 for the job and after wasting money to uber back to work, I get a phone call from her saying she didnt know it was single tips and that nobody has ever brought her single tips without a Y-Pipe already welded onto it and that it takes a couple hours to make Y pipes and bumped the price to 400. Kind of funny how shes sitting right next to single exhaust tips on the wall that they sell. This muffler shop has the highest pricing in town, and has treated me poorly as a customer. Went and picked up my car and they didn't even apologize for the situation. Honestly I'm never returning here again, dont waste your time driving down here. I have my own business that I could have sent my customers to and alot of young friends with similar sport cars that I could have referred to this place but you guys ruined that for yourselves. If anybody ever asks me about Marco Muffler, you can already imagine what Im going to tell them. read more

I was very impressed with these guys. I've been coming here since high school and the service hasn't waned. I had my 2016 Mustang GT in today and had some after market exhaust installed. The Owner was very helpful in helping me pick out what was right then I had the entire crew deal with me as we sound tested the various options inside and out of the car. They never made me feel like I was irritating them and I'm very excited about the sound and feel of the new system. If any of you have ever looked for a exhaust, you soon realize that each car, coupled with each exhaust, sounds different to different people. Our ears and sound tolerances are simply not all the same...on to the review I've now brought my second vehicle to Marco over these two years. A 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4 door. The intent was to get something that sounds as deep as possible. That said, I know its a V6 and it will NEVER sound like a V8. And as a side note, I wanted to STAY AWAY from accomplishing a sound like a Honda Racer. Marco worked with me to get the sound I was looking for. He tried on a few options while the Jeep was on the rack to narrow it down. "REV REV REV!!!!!" I think I found the winner! I drove away happy....for a couple weeks anyway. Weeks later, my wife helped me realize that the exhaust was a little too loud - especially when the engine was under load on the way to Tahoe. I went back to Marco and he suggested a change that may help. After the first day of this round - it still wasn't where I needed it it to be. I went back again and he added another option to fine tune it - PERFECTION! I was afraid I wasted a couple hundred bucks and would have had to rip out the exhaust to start over. The exhaust on my old Toyota truck started making a lot of noise, pipe rattling and the odor became evident that it needed quick attention. I basically googled "best muffler shops" in Sacramento and found many favorable reviews of Marco Muffler. So, I drove to the nearby Orangevale location just to have them look at it and give me an estimate for repairs. They were busy so, I really didn't expect more than getting an idea of the problem and cost to repair. Well, once they diagnosed that it was a bad muffler plus a small hole in the pipe, they told me it would take about 45 minutes to replace and repair the system. The quick turn-around and the estimated cost was very reasonable so, I had them do the work right then. 30 minutes later, the truck was out and ready to go! I can't say enough positive things about the quality of work and high ethics of this shop, the people running it, and the very reasonable price they charged me to perform the repairs. Called in and spoke with a service rep for ten to fifteen minutes in detail about the services I was interested in. Called ahead to ensure there was techs available to give me a quote and then drive the 42 minutes to their shop from my house only to be told by the rudest C on earth working the front desk that they weren't able to accommodate my needs with little to no explanation why. I was referred to the smog specialist next door as they aren't familiar with the line of work they're in and weren't able to give me an explanation as to why they Luke the help me. Absolute joke of a company, recommended to visit a professional shop with better knowledge and customer relations. I would hate to find out what kind of nightmares one would have had they had work done that didn't go as planned and given the staff I would bet that happens a lot here. Went in to get a dual exhaust on my 2004 Toyota Tundra due to lousy flow from factory. The crew at Marco evaluated my truck and recommended just a Y-Pipe due to factory crimps into resonator. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience here. I dropped off a motorcycle exhaust to have a o2 sensor bung (that I supplied) welded on for a project bike. $35 for the job sounded good to me. I Picked up the exhaust later that day and when I got home, I realized that the flange to mount to the bike was on the wrong side of the bung. I returned with the pipe that day and they took a look at it; realized it was "rookie mistake" and they would take care of it and have it ready the next day. Picked up the exhaust the nest day and when I got home I realized they cut my o2 bung out and replaced it with a shorter o2 bung supplied by them. Normally that wouldn't bother me but this new bung was actually set in to the pipe too far and when the Wideband o2 sensor is installed the sensing element protrudes even further into the exhaust causing a large restriction. On a larger exhaust I don't think this would be a problem but I'm working with a 1" pipe. My supplied bung was longer to ensure just the tip of the sensor was in the exhaust steam minimizing any restriction that would be caused. The set up now is easily over a 1/4" into the pipe which by my math is over a 25% restriction, which is going against what I was trying to do in the first place. MAKE MORE POWER. I will say they were all very nice, but this was their mistake that I paid for. The only fix I see is more cutting and welding of the exhaust which I think would destroy the aesthetics of the exhaust or replace it entirely which is about $300 + the bung and labor to install a new one. I'm frustrated but I don't have the energy to fight this shop over it. Oh, and the bung leaked past the weld once I got it on the bike and fired it up. I went in around 10:15 am on a Saturday morning. The receptionist was kind and helpful. I had a bad oxygen sensor and catalytic convertor on a 2001 suburban. The car has a total of 4 sensors (2 each side) and 2 convertors. I decided to change all the sensors and both convertors because I have approximately 203,000 miles on the car. A stock part from the dealer is a bolt in assembly with pipes and both convertors and costs approximately $1,200.00. That does not include the sensors and labor. Marco saves money buy chopping out the old convertors and welding a generic one. All the original flanges are left in place so in the future you could put in an original manufacturer bolt in system. My total was $1,028.00 for both convertors, 4 sensors, incidentals, and labor. The car is super quiet now. I didn't realize how much louder it had gradually become. Also, the nasty exhaust smell is gone. The new convertors also carry a 5 year warranty. I am very please so far and recommend this shop. PS I was back home on my couch by noon. read more

Great service at this shop. I purchased an exhaust system from them when they were at their old location. I was told by Megan, the shop manager, that, yes, my muffler had a lifetime warranty but that I'd have to have the receipt to do an exchange. I told her that finding the years old receipt would be a problem for me and asked if there was another way to fix the leak. Turns out that the leak was on a mounting bracket, and they offered to weld it up for a measly $20 bucks. They did so, and the fix is best described as being "flawless". A good word don't you think? I asked Megan about the two one star reviews, and she explained the situation in both cases. Sounds to me as though the one star folks wanted something done that was either unsafe and/or not doable with the presented parts. As megan put it, "you can't please everyone", but she and her workers certainly pleased me, and I've been known to be a cranky old fart. Even my wife says so sometimes. They will certainly be my shop for future exhaust system needs. read more

My mechanic said there was a 'tick' in my exhaust. Went to Marco on Auburn who suggested I go see Megan on Greenback because they have a larger shop to take care of possible broken bolts near my manifold. Megan was great and the mechanics also came up with the exact same diagnostics as the other shop. Took just 3 hours and it was what seemed to be reasonably priced. My 2002 Dodge sounds back to normal now and Megan was very kind and knew what she was talking about. She said bring it back in a couple hundred miles because with the heat expansion they may need to tighten the new bolts down. She said it is all covered in the price. Good service and quality work! Also had an experience at the Auburn Blvd shop to put the Catalytic Converter Theft deterrent rod on. They were excellent and fast as well. read more

I think I got bambozzled a little. I brought my Dodge Ram in to have the exhaust replaced to go with my cold air in take. I was given some good options, choose one, received a quote and soon as it was on the rack it was..ooooohh yeah...yours has this extra muffler on it we have to cut off, so your price is going up. I would have thought a professional muffler shop would have know this prior to quoting me...but overall the work was good and I am pleased with the result, just not the oops that raised my quote. read more

Took my import to Marco Muffler to repair a rattle inside one of the Mufflers which I already confirmed and stated this to Marco. I asked if they could open it up and weld the broken baffle? no problem we can do that but first we will check it out, a few days of removing and reinstalling the muffler later the manager Megan called and stated they had welded up a few spots? and a cracked bracket, but could not resolve the rattle even though I already told them the issue originally and wanted me to take the car to another repair shop that could find where the noise was coming from. Ok, now I am really worried about what they did over the days they had the car. I thought they had confirmed that it was not inside, good thing I had it towed 200 miles to a Import specialty repair shop that I know well. The repair shop inspected it and not only did they confirm the loose baffle was inside the muffler but after the repair shop removed the muffler for repair they also found that Marco without asking or considering the effects had welded all the functioning valve and flap rod that open and close during driving that is either changed by the exhaust pressure or can be activated by a button on the dash to enhance exhaust flow and is part of the OEM performance package of this model. I called Marco Muffler to inform them of this and they said to bring them the muffler back and they would remove the welds or replace the muffler. The only problem is that I had to drive the 200 miles to pick up the muffler back to Marco for them to undo what they had done to the muffler and then drive it back 200 miles so the repair shop could have a muffler shop near them, open and weld the baffle inside the muffler correctly and reinstall it again. All this took 2 weeks to fix correctly and then I had to have the car towed again 200 miles back to my home. Even though this all but cost me $1000.00 dollars for their lack of following my request for repairs in the first place, which could have and should have been fixed at Marco Muffler. It took 2 weeks just for a reply from the Marco Manager Megan to inform me that the owner would not be refunding me the $188.00 dollars because we welded a bracket and took the muffler off and on a few times. I will never recommend them to any of my friends that's for sure. read more
