Waited 1 hr and 45 minutes for my oil change with an appointment. The lobby smells strongly of smoke so you can't hang out there and the office manager was uncomfortably rude to the mechanics in front of me. It took him more than 10 minutes to staple my papers together and give them to me after I arrived and saw my car was parked and ready to go. He just sat there and avoided eye contact until a ridiculous amount of time had passed, then finally let me go. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I feel it's a civic duty to warn others. My first time here, I brought in a car that we were selling to our daughter. Wanted a few things taken care of on the car. I was pleased that they completed the work, timely, and with no surprises. I told my daughter, this is where you need to bring the car when you need any kind of service. This last visit in sealed it for me. I had betrayed Street Tech and taken my truck elsewhere only to be disappointed by their results. Corey forgave my transgression and agreed to look take a look at the truck. I don't know if my truck was temporarily possessed but the electrical problem that came on suddenly could not be recreated nor detected. Corey and his team kept my truck for a few days determined to find the cause. This determination is one reason I have made Street Tech our auto service go to. This team did not simply give up and turn me away back onto the street without diligence. I respect that. Street Tech is honest, reputable, and extremely fair. My truck for work stalled on Friday around 2pm before the long Memorial Day weekend. Called AAA and was referred to Street Tech Auto Care. After car was towed to them I didn't think it was going to get done because it was late on Friday. I was told they will do what they can to get the job done but they would have to order the part. They received the ordered part around 5pm and they stayed open to replace my alternator after closing time!!! I felt so bad because I am sure everyone wants to go home on Friday and especially on a holiday weekend but these guys went above and beyond and i am grateful for everything they did. I've had several cars over the last few years, and I don't feel comfortable taking them anywhere else then here. Street Tech not only has very experienced and talented technicians, but they are very friendly and honest with their work. The prices are reasonable, the service time is decent, and the quality of work is always top notch! I've driven everything from a Honda to Buick, Jeep to Hyundai, and Toyota to a Lexus. Street Tech is able to service me on everything I've had. Corey, the owner, is fantastic. He is not only easy to talk to, but is very thorough with the quality of work he and his technicians provide. Not only is the quality of their work apparent, but the cost of the service is usually a lot cheaper then if I were to even think about taking my vehicle to a dealership. I used this place because of the great reviews. Never again. First, I was charged $137 to clean the battery terminals. I should have known by that to never return. I decided to give them another chance when needing my brakes fixed. Granted there are many other small things wrong with my car but I'm young and don't have an abundance of money. To fix my brake pads, rotors, a frozen caliber it would have cost me $1,138. But to fix the brakes he insisted on also fixing the wheel hub for $483. Coming to a grand total of $1,600 and some change. I explained I didn't have that kind of money on the spot today but just needed the brakes done to get to work for 3 days and then I could make more existing repairs. I was told multiple times "can you call someone for help? Ask your parents." I'm 24 years old, I don't ask my parents for help and they should not be expected to. As far as he knew I might not even have parents. Then he suggested opening a credit card system through them to pay for the repairs. Fat Chance! Needless to say I took my car to Scotty's Automotive in Rocklin. My car was ready in less than 2 hours and the repairs only cost me $483. Let's think about that $1600 or $483. I guess being a young, blonde girl was supposed to make me clueless, as well. I will say I'm glad he notified me of the existing "problems" but after a second opinion some of the problems were repaired by tightening bolts, which Scotty's did at no cost. read more

I honestly think a majority of these reviews are fake and friends of the employees as this place preys on discovery from unsuspecting Yelp users. After all, it's a new day and age and this is where the market is at now. There's no doubt in my mind that the people that work at this shop truly love their field of work. Much like Cammi R said, they wanted to clean the terminals on my car battery for $137. Why would I pay you guys such a ludicrous amount of money so you can brush my terminals with baking soda and water? Any normal mechanic would have noticed corrosion and taken the couple minutes it takes to brush it off at no extra cost, cause you know, that's the right thing to do. Not nickel and dime people who don't know any better. After paying for my initial repair, they had changed one of my brake lights that must have went out and charged me $30 without notifying me if I wanted it done. Great job fellas. Another thing they tried to get me on was telling me my windshield washer was broke even though I had told them countless times my fluid was out and I didn't get to change it yet. But no, they insisted it was broken until they filled it up and saw it worked. What a joke. They then proceeded to hound me to join their oil change club. Like I would trust them with my oil after that. If you have to come here, get a review around some of the other small and pop repair shops around town, you'll hopefully find a better diamond in the rough. read more

Street Tech is an all-around great auto repair shop. He brings in his big Chevy 4-wheeling rig for work all the time (it's a project vehicle). Corey (the owner) and his crew are knowledgeable about these types of vehicles: Corey even has his own rig parked at the shop most of the time: a really well built Dodge. I am not a gear-head though I know a lot more than I used to just from being married to one. Corey is personable and sharp as a tack but he's also able to explain what's happening to a layperson. When I needed repairs in a pinch on my 2003 Stratus RT, he was able to get it in and diagnosed the same day and had it back to me by 1 PM. He didn't try to overcharge or gouge us on extra work. One thing I really like is that he makes a list of recommended work to be done and prioritizes it in 3 categories: repairs that should be done immediately, repairs that should be done in the near future, and longer term (several months) or optional repairs. On top of everything else, Corey is a really nice guy. This is a great locally-owned shop. read more

The people that work at this shop are VERY rude. I stopped by to have my boyfriend's oil changed and I was never acknowledged, even after saying hello. There were 2 people working in the front of the shop and the female walked away when I tried to ask her a question and the male proceeded to make phone calls as if I never asked in. I patiently waited until I noticed he was making his THIRD phone call without acknowledging me so I asked if there was some one else who could help me. I skim Yelp reviews when I'm looking for something that isn't a huge deal, like a coffee joint or a place to grab a bite to eat. But when I'm making a larger investment, then I spend more time doing research. Picking an auto mechanic is one of those "bigger decisions", that could be a great experience or an unmitigated disaster. I'm happy to say that selecting Street Tech Auto Care has been a great experience. My daughter's car broke down while I was out of town. From her description, I assumed the serpentine belt broke. I did some Yelp research and picked STAC largely due to reviews from fellow Yelpers. I arranged for a tow truck to drop the car off, and I worked with Randy and Corey over the phone. Having no chance to personally inspect the car, honestly they could have told me anything. I was a classic "captive audience" that so many unreputable service organizations prey on. The techs at STAC performed diagnostics and found that the only thing wrong was a loose radiator cap. The coolant boiled out and eventually sprayed on the belt, causing it to slip. Needless to day, i was very impressed with their honesty. While the car was there, I had some routine maintenance performed. They did a great job, and have earned my business without question. It's great to find such a solid and trusting company in today's economy. I highly recommend the team at STAC to service or repair your vehicle. read more

If you want quality service and friendly mechanics working on your vehicle, Street Tech Auto Care is the place to go! I called 3-4 different auto shops to get estimates on the price to fix a blown head gasket and/or a cracked cylinder head and Corey (the manage of STAC) asked great questions, was very thorough in his explanations, upfront about the cost, and amazingly was the only shop that gave me a reasonable estimated price. Most of the other shops that I called seemed to either not be interested in fixing my car, or were in a rush to get off the phone. This is only the beginning. Once I brought my car into the shop Corey explained to me exactly what they will be doing with my car, how long it will take, and went over all the pricing before hand to make sure I could afford it. My car was done before the estimated time and I was given a thorough explanation of what will need to happen going forward with my vehicle. I went to STAC expecting to pay approx. $1,200 and ended up spending $580. STAC took into consideration my goal with my car and exceeded my expectations. Corey expressed he really values the relationships he and his employees have with their customers and the vehicles brought in. This was apparent to me right away! In my opinion, you would be making a mistake taking your car elsewhere. Great customer service, great people, great work, and an awesome business at STAC! If you haven't been fortunate enough to be a customer of Street Tech Auto, I can see why you could believe that some of their reviews are fake. I was a little skeptical at first as well, but when I saw they acknowledged every bad review either apologizing for a bad experience and offering to find a way to make it up to them; or calling people out on what I'd call BS. I thought if someone cares about their business that much, I'd be willing to give them a shot. When I called to make an appointment for a diagnostic, I advised of all the work I've had done already and how my mechanic suggested I get a second opinion because he was stumped. They gave me a discount before I even walked through the door because he said, "I feel bad charging you so much after you've already spent so much on your car." None of that work was done in their shop, and they still gave a discount. The only bad thing I can say about Street Tech Auto is their hours. They're only open when I'm at work, but you'll run into that with just about any business. I'm off early on Fridays, so I took my car in on a Friday afternoon, and they couldn't feel what I was feeling in the car. However, they refused to give up. They kept my ticket open, and I took my car back in a week later. This time they asked for permission to take it on the freeway (where the issue always happened), and they felt the vibration. After a bunch of work and logical thinking, they still had no idea what could be causing the vibration. I went on a business trip the next week, and I left my car with them for a few days. At this point, I still had not paid them a dime. I had just bought a full new set of wheels and tires in August, but Corey was convinced that there was something wrong with the tires. I had already had one tire replaced within 2 days of getting them due to a factory defect. He admitted that the likelihood of another tire having an issue was unlikely, but he decided to take my car to the tire company himself while I was out of town. They confirmed that there was another issue with the tire, and Corey left it up to me to decide what I wanted to do. He suggested I upgrade my tires, which I agreed to do. I went to this very popular, customer-service driven tire company myself and told them I wanted to upgrade all of my tires. They did the test themselves, confirmed that one tire had an issue and tried to send me on my way. I told them again that I wanted to replace ALL my tires, but they would only replace the one defected tire. They said that there being another factory defect on a set of tires was too unlikely (even though 2 have had to be replaced at this point), and refused to do anything until I took it back on the freeway and confirmed the vibration was still there. This tire company sent me back on the freeway after I told them I did not feel safe in my car, and I was willing to pay more money to upgrade my tires. So I took it on the freeway, and I immediately came back because the vibration was still there, and I spoke with a manager. The manager ended up upgrading my tires for free due to the multiple bad experiences I've had at their store. If Street Tech Auto hadn't gone above and beyond what you would expect from a car shop, my car still would not be fixed. I would have let this tire company tell me that something was wrong with my car because it couldn't possibly be my brand new tires. I encourage everyone I know to go to Street Tech Auto, even if it means to go out of their way. They treated me with respect before I even walked through their door. They believed me and did not give up when I said I feel a vibration when I drive, and I don't feel safe driving my car. I can't thank them enough. read more

Employees were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately other aspect of this business were not as good. This business tries to lock you in to returning for future oil changes by selling multiple oil changes for a discounted price up front. I also found the waiting area unpleasant as it has an extremely strong smell to it. By extreme I mean worse than any of the more than 10 garages I've been to in my life. Finally, the last time we took our car here they failed to reattach a skid plate on the bottom our car which has to be opened to perform an oil change. A day later we noticed it was dragging on the ground. We took it to another mechanic and were charged $55.00 to reattach it with 2 missing push pins. read more

So far, this is my go to place in this area. I'm a bit reluctant in general to say that because I'm usually un-trusting towards auto shops. I've been to a lot and have had many different experiences, I could go on. This place, so far, has been doing a good job (hope they continue to). They are pretty affordable in comparison to other shops I have checked in the area for the same work. I originally chose to go to them after yelping them myself. I tried out Mike's auto repair, which was alright, but more like a family owned, at home, business. I tried out a couple other places, which were okay too, although I mainly go to Street Tech when I need anything (they probably think I'm cheating on them). I've had a lot of car work done in the last couple years, and though I might not be 100% pleased with every experience I've had here, I can tell they are doing a good job and that they work hard to make a good impression. They have gone out of their way to help me, and Corey has always been very attentive to what my car concerns were. I do wish they would have told me earlier about the types of discounts they offer though (example AAA discounts) because I would have applied it to ALL of my work done there. I didn't find out till later that it would take off a percent. Perhaps their communication could be a little better. Overall though, they have done a great job. They haven't fully won me over yet, but as time passes I'm sure I'll make my mind up about them. I guess I'm just cautious after all of my past experiences at car shops. These guys are fucking awesome! I came here because it was close to home, super convenient. I am now planning on moving up to Rocklin, and I'm going to be coming back here to get work done in my car. Firstly let it be said I am not a "car guy" I can change a tire/oil/air filter but that is pretty much the limit to my auto expertise. They used small words, and explained to me all of the things I've fucked up on my mustang and we came up with a plan to start checking projects off the list. This brings me to their oil change card! It a hundred bucks and covers four oil changes so your saving money there, then it gets you discounts on like 3 different areas of your car I used up two of them on a fuel injection service and spark plugs so I saved another chunk of change there. This week they really took care of me though, I bring the car in on Monday because I found a puddle around my rear left tire they fit me right in and found that my muffler was running against my shock and had bored a hole through so the fluid was leaking (super bad shit) they sent me down the street to a muffler shop where they remounted my exhaust system then I headed back over and made an appointment for the next day this whole process took maybe two hours and cost hundreds less than what I was expecting. They bent over backwards to accommodate my hectic schedule when it came to getting my truck in for an oil change, and gave me a detailed inspection report afterwards. When my car threw a check engine light, the owner came out and scanned it for me while I was on lunch! The pricing is fair and they didn't try to take advantage of me because I'm a woman. After working at dealerships, and seeing my share of crappy shops across the country, it was awesome to come home and find nothing has changed at Street Tech, they value their customers!! read more

AVOID. HIGHLY AVOID. Got lured in by owner corey, and the fake yelp comments. Corey acted nice on the phone, beating a competitors quote of $249. I was looking for a long term mechanic to work on all my cars. Came in and randy/corey ripped me off for all they could. Almost $200 for a really simple job, that i could have done at home for $18. They only did half the work agreed upon verbally, sloppy job, then tried to charge me an additional $225 to finish at the end. So $419.06 for spark plugs and wires. Plus, their free vehicle inspection with any repair was a complete scam. Tried telling me many things were wrong with my car, i needed repairs that were already done, not needed and/or not true. They recommended timing belt and just had it done 4 months ago with shop reciept. Total con. I took my car to a shop because i wanted a professional to work on it, plenum removal was required. They told me at the end they didnt need to remove the plenum, used some cheater methods. Amateur night. Stay the hell away from these clowns read more

I took my Mitsubishi Eclipse here after spending nearly 1 thousand dollars at the dealership for a "no start" condition that was never remedied. The dealer had diagnosed the computer as having been bad and after replacing it the car still wouldn't start yet I still had to pay the bill! Anyways, I told these guys what the deal was and they immediately found the problem... the dealer had installed the wrong computer!!! They called the dealership and explained the problem and even arranged to have my car towed back to have the right computer installed as it would cost me no additional $$ for the dealer to install the correct one. They could have easily lied to me or made something up but didn't. Talk about INTEGRITY! I did have to pay $90 for the diagnostic but they also "threw in" an oil change since it was on the rack and I think they felt bad for me. I would highly recommend these guys for any kind of automotive advice or repairs! read more

We have been going to Street Tech for at least a decade when our sons wrestling coach recommended them. Now - not only we take all our cars there, but our three sons, mother and friends do too now. We have always been really happy with the service Corey and his team give us - prices are comparable and sometimes better then other establishments. What we like best - in this busy world - is they have these great cards you can purchase for your oil changes plus other service discounts. They more than pay for themselves - but more importantly help keep us up on our service maintenance. Sure cost a lot less for good maintenance than a new car! Holy moly these guys are awesome. My boyfriend and I were moving to Folsom and had to drop off a U-Haul at this auto shop. We were pretty much exhausted and stressed by time we found Street Tech. The return process was pain free and they gave us a gift certificate for a free oil change. Free oil change!? As fate would have it, my "change engine oil" light was blaring at me a week later. I drove on over and they fit me in for an oil change on the spot. The service was quick and easy and thanks to my amazing gift certificate, free! Just moved to Folsom from Sac. Had to find a nice place for my jelly bean of a car. Called same day for appointment to get my oil changed. Heather who answered the phone was friendly and pleasant. Corey the business owner was right at the front desk with her, which was strange in an awesome way because most of the time the owner wants to hide out. Corey wants to get to know his customers. Very cool dude. Honest about the work put into your car and what you need.
