We gave the new Woburn location a try. I went in rather skeptical but came out pleasantly surprised and happy. This was the former Joe's American Bar and Grill and it retains all the nice wood and upscale casual atmosphere. We were seated in a booth in the front dining room. Plenty of parking too. Monday night and very quiet and everyone was attentive, service was great. That's not always the case on quiet nights. We had eggplant parm w/angel air and veal parm with spaghetti. Both meals were very good. We used to buy Chateau sauce and we forgot how much we liked it. We're not big eaters and portions are reasonable, so we had leftovers for lunch the next day. I came here with my husband and almost 2 year old daughter on a Friday around 6:30 pm. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly sat, with a booster chair provided. We ordered fried ravioli and fried calamari for appetizers along with their complimentary bread. The ravioli were delicious, hearty, and satisfying. The calamari was nice and tender. For entrees, I had the chicken parm sandwich with tater tots and a side Caesar. All items were cooked and prepared to perfection. My husband got the broiled seafood dinner and cleared the plate. My wife and I were looking for a restaurant we hadn't visited and decided to go to The Chateau in Woburn, MA. Without a doubt, it was one of the worst decisions we ever made. Let's begin with the parking lot. It had snowed 24 hours earlier and the lot had not been plowed or sanded and was extremely icy. Secondly, we were greeted and seated by a young lady who appeared to be having a bad day as she escorted us to our table and walked away without saying a word. Thirdly, while placing my order, the server asked me what I wanted for side dishes. I asked what was available and she opened the menu and said, "There are so many, I can't remember them all." After we placed our orders of chicken parmigiana for my wife and steak tips with corn and mashed potatoes for me, we waited longer than people usually wait for their meals at other establishments which was frustrating because the restaurant was only half full. While we waited, the people sitting in the booth behind me, sent their food back to the kitchen because it was cold when they received it. Our food finally arrived and, you guessed it, my corn and potatoes were cold. The steak tips were lukewarm. My wife's chicken parmigiana had the appearance of what is served in middle school cafeterias (I was a substitute teacher in a middle school for six years. I've had my share of bad chicken parmigiana). It was cold also. The chicken not only looked like it was a frozen patty before being cooked, it tasted like it as well. The cheese tasted like it came wrapped in cellophane paper before being placed on the chicken and the spaghetti sauce looked and tasted like it came out of a jar. For obvious reasons, my wife decided not to eat her dinner. The server took my wife's plate back to the kitchen and the manager came out to ask what was wrong with our order. When my wife explained why she could not eat the food, the manager told her that the chicken had been breaded on the premises. That was, and still is, very hard to believe. The manger took my plate back to the kitchen to "replace" my corn and potatoes. They were warm when he brought the plate back but it didn't improve the bland taste of either. I paid for my meal which is vastly overpriced at $27.99 considering the poor quality. As we left, five staff members were standing in an area near the door and not one person acknowledged us as we left which is okay because we have no plans to return. read more

My 7 year old daughter and I went to this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. The place was clean and they sat us as soon as we came in. The server was so pleasant with a wonderful smile. She was excellent (her name is Kayla P), attentive, and most of all, awesome recommendation (their garlic steamed mussels was so good!) made by Kayla. I loved how family friendly the place is and we had an amazing time. I also forgot my credit card there on my way out because I'm a dipshit but when I came back, they were ready for me! I have a love for the Chateau in Burlington. My family and friends have had many meals there and we have all attended fundraisers, functions, and the such at the Burlington location! The food is delicious! When the Chateau in Woburn opened a group of us decided to head there after a game as it was close to the field and we were looking forward to a similar if not identical experience to the Burlington location. This was NOT the case. First, the place was empty but it took our waitress a LONG time to get our drink order. My drink was delicious but I was not crazy about my food. My go to dinner is the Gnocchi Pomodoro and it tasted completely different than the Burlington location. The sauce was all wrong and not tasty at all. There were definitely some other food discrepancies but the real kicker was when my friend ordered a second drink! He was waiting and waiting and waiting. The waitress came over twice and said she wasn't sure what was going on with the bartender. (Side note: the place was empty, including the bar so there was no backup!) When she came back the third time she rudely said, "Do you still want that drink?" Of course he did, but at that point she made it awkward! The final kicker was when we asked for the check. Again, waiting and waiting, and waiting! Finally, the waitress walks by our table but NOT to give us the check we have been waiting for. Instead, she decided that this would be a great time for her to have her dinner!She walks by with a plate full of food and another waitress behind her. She says, "this waitress is going to cash you out so I can eat my dinner!" She sat at an empty table 2 booths down and ate her dinner while we were still waiting for her to cash us out! Needless to say she barely got her 20%, and none of us will return to the Woburn Chateau! It's terrible! Burlington is the location to go to if you want real service, real food, want to receive the drink you ordered, and don't want to have to wait for your check while your waitress eats her dinner! The food was a disappointment. Salad had canned beets and corn in it. I can open a can of vegetables at home if I wanted them. They stripped the place of its charm and class, leaving behind a restaurant that looks like a high school cafeteria. Lights and other decor looked like the cheapest they could find. Stopped in for lunch today. Was a bit disappointed 1. First impression was sitting down and noticing the bread plate had food stuck on it. Had waitress remove it. 2. Food was very slow coming out. We could see two men in the kitchen area with coats on talking. Not sure if that is what slowed food down. 3. I asked the waitress if I could get a salad in lieu of pasta and if that was any issue. She stated you could get potato, veg or salad. no mention of an upcharge. When the bill came there was $1.50 charge. this is a pet peeve of mine having been a server. You always tell the customer about an up charge it should never be a surprise. 4. Food was okay not bad not awesome 5. no fault of the restaurant but they were very short staffed so only saw the waitress once and had to take some of the order "to go " due to the long wait time and work commitments. read more

The Chateau is one of my favorite places. I frequent the burlington location often but thought i would try woburn as it is closer to me. Wish I didn't, as i was extremely disappointed. Came around lunch time, so there wasn't much going on. The waitress was super unfriendly. She never checked in with us throughout the meal, and took 30 minutes to bring us our check after being finished. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but she was just rude. She rolled her eyes at multiple customers and got annoyed when i asked for another fork since my daughter dropped hers on the floor. My food was completely cold when it came out and didn't taste right. I've learned my lesson to stick with what i know! I would most definitely suggest the other chateau locations. read more

We frequently the chateau a lot, but today was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant based on the service. We were sat and our waitress did not come over for at least 10 minutes, when she did she asked for drinks, we all asked for waters and other drinks. We received our other drinks and never received our waters. During that time we also tried to play keno they gave us our tickets and then they did not tell us that their screens were not displaying the numbers, after we paid. After about another 10 minutes our waitress finally came back and asked if we would like to order appetizers yet at that point we had already been sat for about 20 minutes and we were ready to order as we had been waiting long enough. It was not that the restaurant was overly busy the bar area with high top was basically empty. Our waitress did not check on us once only to bring our food, never asked if we wanted another drink or how our food was. Now let's get to the food, my boyfriend order a lobster roll that was $32 and what he received was basically a toasted bun filled with lettuce and barely half a portion of lobster, that i would consider more of a lobster salad consistency rather than just lobster meat. With all that being said we have been to this location many times and have always had a great experience and that's why we went tonight but tonight was a totally different story. read more

Had lunch today and the food and service, atmosphere were all great! I had the pastrami & cheese sandwich and the quality was super. My friend had the meatball sandwich and liked it a lot. We both had the bowl of Italian wedding soup and it was nice and hot and tasted homemade! Our server was David in the lounge. He was efficient and pleasant. Nice atmosphere and is comfortable.
