I have been eating at Nicole's for about 20 years, so this is not a review based on one unusually…read moregood visit. I recently brought a party of six for dinner after reading some of the negative reviews, and I paid close attention because those complaints did not sound like the restaurant I have known all these years. Our service was excellent from beginning to end. We were warmly welcomed, our orders were correct, our food arrived hot, and everyone was attentive without rushing us. Our table ordered a little bit of everything: two Trio Dinner Specials with homemade lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken Parmigiana; Nicole's Homemade Lasagna; Scallop Tortellini; clams in white-wine sauce over linguine; and my usual shrimp Alfredo with angel-hair pasta. We also enjoyed the bread with rosemary olive oil and Nicole's house sweet red wine. Every single person loved their meal. As someone with a tomato allergy, I also appreciate having a restaurant that knows me, remembers what I can safely eat and consistently prepares my favorite dish correctly. I have seen complaints about the food, portions, inattentive service and the way regular customers are treated. That was absolutely not our experience. Six different people ordered five different entrées, and all six left happy. Our entire group was treated warmly and received excellent service. The best example happened after dinner. Someone in our party accidentally left a credit card behind. George came running out of the restaurant, flagged us down, showed the card to me so I could identify who it belonged to, and then personally carried it to them at their vehicle. He could have simply placed it behind the counter and waited for someone to discover it missing. Instead, he made the effort to catch us before we left. That is genuine service and integrity. No restaurant can promise that every person will have an identical experience, but I can only review what I know firsthand: approximately 20 years of dining at Nicole's and one very successful six-person group dinner. The negative reviews may describe someone else's experience, but they certainly do not describe mine. Nicole's remains my absolute favorite Italian restaurant.

Interesting and confusing decorations but they inspired lots of conversation. Only real complaint is pricing. Food was not good enough, nor was the size of the dish big enough, to justify such high prices.

My wife, my son, and I were driving back from a trip to Livingston when my wife suggested Chicken Salad Chick. At first I thought, "Only chicken salad?" But she started listing the options- buffalo chicken salad, barbecue chicken salad, chicken salad with apples and grapes, plus pimento cheese. So, I figured it was worth a try. The restaurant has a trendy, down-home vibe, kind of like being at a cool aunt's house. The girl at the counter was great and very helpful with ordering, and I like fast-casual places that bring the food out to your table. I ordered a Dixie Chick chicken salad sandwich with macaroni and spicy pimento cheese. My wife got the Classic Carol on a croissant with broccoli soup and grape salad, and my son ordered the turkey club with macaroni and a side of buffalo chicken salad. The chicken salads were fresh and tasty. The Dixie Chick and the pimento cheese were my favorites. The macaroni was a bit of a letdown, not bad, just nothing special. The other standouts were the broccoli soup and the grape salad. The Classic Carol was good but a little plain for my taste. I also tried the red velvet cake, which was really good with excellent cream cheese frosting. Overall I'd recommend it, especially if you want something different from the usual fried chicken spots.

Need some improvement. I hope the management picks things up. I was here in a slow afternoon,…read morewhere the two of us were literally the only one in line and it still took 15 minutes to get an order. The nice but in attentive person at the counter must've asked us the same questions four different times. What bread was that? What cheese was that? And cannot recommend the quality. The bun was not right. Seemed stale. We both ate half of our respective sandwiches and threw the other half out. One of the questions we we asked each other was, did your cheese taste bad? Sorry.

I'm vegan, so I ordered a build-your-own veggie sandwich. I asked for white bread, and they tried to give me sourdough. I asked if they had regular white sub bread, and someone went to the back and came back with a hoagie roll, which wasn't what I was looking for. At that point, I asked whether they had wheat. Later I found out that the person who was helping me , the one looking for the bread and unsure about the options , was actually the owner. That was surprising, and honestly a bit concerning, because I would expect the owner to know what's on the menu and to lead by example when it comes to product knowledge. When it was time to choose veggies, they didn't have avocado. For a place offering veggie sandwiches, that's a basic topping to keep stocked. The sandwich I received had dry, overly sweet bread that didn't pair well with the ingredients. It just didn't feel fresh or thoughtfully prepared. On top of that the bread is small and I'm still hungry. If they want to improve, they need to: * Make sure staff (especially ownership) are knowledgeable about their own menu * Keep key ingredients like avocado in stock * Improve the quality and freshness of the bread, especially for plant-based orders where the bread plays such a big role in the overall flavor The food should speak for itself, and right now, it's not saying much. I wouldn't return unless I heard they made some real changes.
