I have to confess that I love to browse Marc's closeouts. You never know what you'll find there, and today I found a lot of great stuff! This store has a lot of closeout treasures - chalk, bubbles (!), skateboards (for only $24.99), iridescent cups for entertaining, weekender bags, dirt cheap swimsuits (around $4), budget-friendly bras (around $3), summer hats, pillows, and a lot more. Definitely there's a lot of seasonal stuff for gardening (including lots of outdoor plants) and vacations. This store has a lot of clothes including brands like French Connection (wild!) and Target brands. I purchased multiple pants, shorts, and swimsuits. I really appreciated that there was a wide range of clothes for plus size (my size). I also got dishwashing liquid and garbage bags. I spent around $30 which was a steal considering my haul. Service at this Marc's is ok. The employee put my clothes together with dishwashing liquid which could have been a disaster but turned out fine. He was friendly though. P.S. Avon's Marc's store is one of my favorite Marc's stores! Employees are always welcoming and helpful and eager to assist customers! Managers are on hand and announce, periodically, how important it is for customers to wear face masks... I really appreciate that. We all know there's always one person with no consideration or regard for others, especially during this virus epidemic.... it's a vital contribution from everyone in order to try to get a reign on this virus. I just love coming to Marc's you really don't know what you will find in their close outs. So far I have decorated my family room with about 50% from Marc's close outs . I Found my dinner dishes, bowls, drinking cups and just about everything for my kitchen. Now if I don't know what I'm going to make for dinner I literally walk around Marc's and then it will come to me. My veggies, meats, fruits and anything else I need for dinner or just restocking my kitchen and the whole house the prices are always right. My star rating has gone down for this store. First...the cashiers must be paid by the length of time they can prolong a checkout transaction. I try to go to Marc's when I'm not trying to go ANYWHERE else in the near future. I'm amazed time hasn't gone in reverse during some of the transactions. It takes all my willpower to not push them aside so I can scan my own groceries. Second... I cannot count the number of times a cashier hasn't removed the security thingy, causing the alarm at the door to go off as the customer leaves. So many times, I see the poor, honest customer desperately searching for a Marc's employee to check their stuff. These people just want to do the right thing, and no employee will even glance their way. Third...the elderly woman at the deli has ZERO idea why she has to wear gloves. She put on a pair of gloves, THEN proceeded to search through the deli case extensively looking for the lunch meat I had requested. Those gloves touched every single thing on that case, as well as the deli case doors repeatedly. I was shocked she didn't use the washroom, or count money with those gloves next. When I mentioned this to the woman at the customer service desk, she acted affronted, like I had informed her that her baby was ugly. I had to request that she pass it along to a manager. On the plus side... The store is clean, aisles are wide-ish, and the employees are generally friendly. They finally take credit cards. read more

What can I say about Marc's? You come here for "deep discounts" and that is what you get. Although I have moved away from Cleveland, I still come by this Marc's during the holiday time when I am back in town (with my mom), just like I used to, hundreds of times when I was growing up. Clearly, Marc's is not the most aesthetically appealing store, but if you want something at a good price (vs your local grocery stores - Giant Eagle), you've got to come here. The produce section and overall store size at this Marc's is better than some of the other stores around the area. Although the random assortment of "stuff" at the start of the store is very messy and random, you can find some ridiculous deals if you are lucky! read more

Marc's is the store we miss most when we leave Ohio. So much fun shopping closeouts. They used to be more upscale, but ok. Still happy about a teak table we got here ten years ago, and wish we'd grabbed the baseball leather loveseat. Short hedge clippers are da bomb! Used to be more young people here with upbeat perkiness. Kara still fits the bill. Food is nothing fun, but maybe too much fun-food temptation is not good. There are a lot of neat coffees to choose from at a bargain price point. Aisles are tight -- people are not just trying to bump into you! -- and managers like to put cardboard displays in the aisles to make things more challenging. Update: Hey they seem to have more young people now. But they all have that "someone just yelled at me" or "I don't want to get yelled at again" face. Maybe it's a millennial thing. The young man, Alex, seems to be a pleasant exception and the closeout people are more Borg-like, "in the zone," like they're concentrating on labeling the patio rugs correctly. Seriously, usually there are two or more people at any store who have the make-your-day sort of attitude, but here it's just Kara. I should've bought more mulch here a few weeks ago -- Home Depot next door is not the bargain that Marc's is. Oh yeah, and my Marc's sale plants are doing fine, but the HD non-sale plants were dead after a day. Go figure. read more

I have no complaints. Frankly, I'm surprised to find reviews lower than 4 stars for ANY Marc's. A mainstay in Cuyahoga and surrounding counties for probably more than two decades, how could ANYONE find legitimate fault with a LOCAL---yes, local---offering discounts on so many things that probably most of us consume on a regular basis. It deserves our respect and appreciation. What would it be like without any Marc's? Many would be forced to stretch meals with unhealthy carbs, and might even have to begin restricting their toilet paper and deodorant usage. BYOTP? Thanks to this chain we can save money. Isn't that a good thing? It may not have the subdued ambient lighting of a Heinen's, or be as vast as one of those sprawling Giant Eagles that could qualify for their own zip codes, or have the elitist feel of a Whole Foods or Earth Fare, or the novelty and uniqueness of a Trader Joe's, but I'll be darned, it has great low pricing on lots of things---many of which (or similar) are sold at those other places for sometimes quite a bit more. And instead of moaning about Marc's not accepting all credit cards, use common sense. Bring your checkbook or pay cash. Lines too slow, too long? I walk in without the expectation that they'll be fast or short, so I'm never disappointed. (And they're OFTEN fast and short, anyway.) Always helpful, and at times, especially friendly employees? That's what I find here---and at North Olmsted and Kamm's, too. If those GE 20 cents off a gallon of gas deals appeal to you---fine, but do the math. Even at 40 cents off---what's that? No more than $8.00 a tank? Great---if you drive a semi. But I can easily save that---and more---in one Marc's visit, and with a cart not even half full. Sure, I enjoy shopping at the others---particularly for specialty items, cheeses and breads, seafood, and better cuts of meat, but common sense rules when it comes to standard dairy, bread, produce, condiment, and paper-type products. Speaking of complainers... About six weeks ago, another customer and myself were patiently waiting for our lunch meat to be sliced at their new deli department. (Kretschmar roast beef and Eckridge salami---both excellent.) Only two girls working it, both slicing away. Three or four more customers arrived over no more than a minute, and one well-dressed jerk yelled out, "How about hurrying it up?" I cannot abide rudeness and disrespect, so doing the right thing I turned, looked at him and said, "BACK OFF. They're NEW, and doing a great job. How about giving them a BREAK?" Would he have mouthed off at the other places? I doubt it. Not another peep from that spiffy ignoramus. Three weeks---and maybe a thousand slices of cold cuts later---that same girl was there, and before I could tell her what I wanted, she smiled at me and said, "Roast beef and salami." And a couple years ago, unsuccessfully looking through cans of pizza sauces---only one of the brand I wanted, and it was dented---who should come up to me but the owner, Marc Glassman, offering---friendly and sincerely---to check in the back for more. He was with three other men wearing business suits and left them just to help me. Surprised to see him, I thanked him, and insisted that the dented one was just fine. Because of his charitable causes, and the great values he offers, he most certainly deserves the respect---and favorable reviews---he has earned. Not all locals deserve to stay in business, but THIS one is definitely worth patronizing. To all negative reviewers---who never complain about the low prices---but grumble about customers (!?), slow lines, unfriendly employees, messy close-out sections---and spoiled produce or expired dairy? Guess what. It happens to those others, too. After removing the plastic wrapping from a styrofoam tray of Heinen's brussels sprouts, I had awakened hundreds of little bugs crawling out from inside the leaves. (Thanks to Heinen's, they had an employee race a replacement to my front door 3 miles away, within minutes.) And the in-store packaged walnuts from Giant Eagle---4 months past expiration...and the green pepper---plus its resident caterpillar---that I brought home from The West Side Market. Time for whiners to move up from trainers into big girl and big boy pants. Now if Marc's closed out close-outs, complaints WOULD be justified. Where else could we find a number of useful products at amazing discounts---plus an occasional cool item, too? An original Warhol soup can or one of his giant Brillo Pad boxes might not be in my budget, but I could easily afford the huge two foot long super-realistic, heavy, yellow plastic banana with a few brown bruises and a green stem---complete with a glossy 4" square, blue and white Chiquita sticker. Plus, the finest jazz selection that I've heard on any store audio system. All while loading great buys into my cart? And Pop Art, too? Pretty cool. read more

Probably one of the best deals on Keurig K-Cups found here. 80 cups for $19.99, out the door. (The box says "Victor Allen's Coffee") but it's 100% Arabica and it's good stuff. Look in the isle behind the regular coffee isle. I'm sure there are other great deals here, I just don't carry enough cash to take advantage of them. (No debit card accepted.) Still, it's a great place for the coffee deal. read more

My wife and I had a very poor experience at the Rocky River Pharmacy today, on 11-15-22, at 9:40 am. The Pharmacist on duty there was extremely rude and treated us both very poorly. She made up wait over 1/2 hour to get a CV-19 booster shot, even with no other customers there waiting for anything. We even had appointments. Then she was once again rude to us and tried to blame it all on waiting for my medical insurance card info. We regret having to deal with her. We should have gone to the Karm's Corner Marc's store, where the service has always been much better. This woman does not seem to care about customers, and she showed us absolutely no respect. Marcs seems to have a training issue here. We will never go to the RR store's Pharmacy again. We could have gone shopping during all the wait time, but the assistant told us to sit down, since the Pharmacist would handle us "shortly". Boy was that all wrong. We then had no time left for shopping. We were very disappointed. read more

I am new to ohio, l and have been looking for a reasonable super market. I went today to Marc's and it was great. Everything was pretty reasonable and had a variety of different brands. I was able to find everything I needed. Will definitely be grocery shopping here. read more
