Mushroom rigatoni
Ashley H.

The food here was still delicious!! Calamari is a large portion and is perfectly seasoned. A must order!!! The lemon mushroom rigatoni- I hope they keep it forever!! Not sure why the menu link features a burger when it's not on the dinner menu so that was disappointing. I also loved the tacos during dine LA earlier this year and think they should make that a permanent menu item! The lemon mushroom rigatoni I think is fresh and delicious!! Only lost a star because service this time was super super slow. Had to ask for water 3 times and they double charged for the soda and had to ask them to remove. Sat inside this time and it was warm and clean and beautiful.

What a gorgeous venue! Stopped by for some pre drinks and they did not disappoint. The wait staff was friendly and attentive.

I visited this restaurant after a morning running event hosted at the Promenade. This place was very nice and played off the beachy vibe very well with the modern coastal decor. My girlfriend's and I all ordered brunch items; a salmon club, fish tacos, and a burger. I originally was drawn toward the fish tacos because of a prior Yelp review but it wasn't on the actual menu. My server was kind enough to ask the kitchen to prepare it for me. All of the food was good and the service was excellent! I have no complaints. We sat on the patio so we had a beautiful view of the beach and the weather was perfect

Delicious :) wonderful if you're like in the party mood on Sunday bc they have live music! Staff is very friendly cheerful and helpful. This place is inside a hotel. Valet parking makes it easy. Thank you Marelle!

I live in Santa Monica and have't been to this place until a couple weeks ago with some friends for a drink. I've been wanting to dry more hotel restaurants/ bars lately and my girlfriend recommended we try this place cause she'd seen the drinks looked good on social media. We came on a Tuesday night so honestly it was super super dead but the vibes are so cute, almost like a Tulum vibe and it's very spacious and comfortable inside. You enter by going downstairs near the back of the hotel. We got about 5-6 drinks split between the 3 of us. I had the star of the sea and my friends the chai chai chai (w alcohol) and a matcha martini they made (which was sooo good). The drinks in my opinion weren't life changing but were decent. I just wish mine wasn't like $28 for what is was but I'd come back just for the vibes.

After seeing this place on TikTok for the pretty views and aesthetically pleasing ambiance and decoration, I knew we had to make the reservation asap! When we arrived, I was instantly amazed by everything from the decor, the ambiance, the color palette, and the overall design style, along with the views. Our server was hospitable as he helped us through the menu and gave us his top favorites from it. When we received the food, I chose the burger with bacon added and fries, and it was a very good burger, though the fries were just ok! The DJ, after a while, started to get better, and that added to the experience we were having. Overall, I loved the time we had, and it would be wonderful to go back again!

Ambiance: Dressy, beautiful, and very intentional--Marelle gives off elevated Tulum-inspired coastal vibes. The space feels polished yet relaxed, making it perfect for celebrations, date nights, brunch, or a special dinner out. You can tell there's thoughtful attention to detail not just in the design, but in the overall experience. The team clearly puts effort into sourcing ingredients, building seasonal menus, and thoughtfully communicating each dish. Drinks: The cocktails here are exceptional--fresh, balanced, and very seasonally driven. Paloma & Passionfruit Cocktails: Bright, citrusy, summery, and perfectly sweet without being syrupy. The agave notes come through beautifully. The cocktail menu rotates seasonally, which keeps things exciting. They're known for their "Star of the Sea" program and serve drinks in custom clay terracotta cups made specifically for the hotel, such a unique and memorable touch. They also feature standout spirits like Amass (botanical and floral) and Gray Whale Gin, which add to the coastal, botanical-inspired drink experience. A special shoutout to Eddie, the bartender, who was incredible. I described what I was in the mood for, and he created a custom drink that was absolutely spot-on. Food: Beautifully prepared, ingredient-focused, and clearly seasonal. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully executed. Standout Dishes: Calamari: A must-order. Perfectly cooked--tender, well seasoned, and zero rubbery texture or fishy smell. I would come back just for this. Whipped Feta: Another must. Light, creamy, and balanced so the feta doesn't overpower the dish. The tomatoes on top add the perfect brightness. Tuna Tartare & Sea Bream: Both incredibly fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend. Octopus: Extremely tender and flavorful. Served with cucumbers and a chickpea spread that adds wonderful texture and balance. Broccolini: Cooked perfectly--still crisp with great flavor from roasted peppers and sliced garlic. Stone Fruit Salad: Refreshing, seasonal, and sourced from the local farmers market, which really shines through in the flavor. Dessert: Chocolate Lava Cake: Rich, deep chocolate flavor without feeling overly heavy. French Cream Cheesecake: Beautifully balanced and elevated by the cherry compote--absolutely delicious. Service: Outstanding. The team is knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely excited about the menu and ingredients. Eddie (Bartender) creates thoughtful, personalized cocktails. Enrico (Manager) helps ensure the entire experience runs smoothly and feels elevated yet welcoming. Parking: Street parking and valet available. Overall: Marelle is a standout destination for a refined yet relaxed dining experience. Between the stunning ambiance, exceptional seasonal cocktails, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and warm, knowledgeable service, it's a place that feels both celebratory and memorable. Perfect for special occasions, brunch, or a beautiful dinner by the coast.

Let me tell you something... I enjoyed this place from the moment I walked in to the moment we walked out. Low-key, tucked away, and very much a hidden gem -- ya hear me? So boom My homegirl and I wanted to try somewhere cute for brunch, and she suggested this spot located inside a hotel. The aesthetic? Warm, neutral, and effortlessly pretty. We started with the signature mimosa cart and the crab cake. Now let it be known -- I am a crab cake connoisseur and this one understood the assignment. Nicely crusted, flavorful, and paired with jalapeño aioli that I thoroughly appreciated. It also came with a red pepper, white corn, and mango mixture... I personally could've done without that, but no harm no foul. The mimosa cart was stocked with fresh fruit and juices, so naturally we each had a glass. We also ordered the Star of the Sea. It's vodka-based, which had me a little weary, but baby... the glass it came in was too cute. Tiny pour, big personality, and surprisingly tasty. Now let's get into the entrées ‍ I initially ordered the Crispy Jidori Chicken Sandwich, but unfortunately it was bland and gave me absolutely nothing. I only ate the fries and considered calling it a day. Thankfully, our server was super understanding and accommodating, so I decided to pivot and order the Seared Ahi Tuna instead... and let me tell you, it smacked my wig clean back. My homegirl ordered the Crispy Chicken & Pancakes, served with blueberry butter, and she was pleased. We took plenty of pictures, laughed, and really enjoyed the overall vibe. It's one of those places that's just pretty. Would I come back? Absolutely. Next time, I'd love to try the dinner menu. So per usual -- if you're in the area, go ahead and stop by and enjoy yourself. P.S. It's metered parking, and I think I saw valet... but don't quote me

Marelle at the Sandbourne Santa Monica is serving views, vibes, and seriously good food. Think gorgeous coastal ambience, a menu rooted in fresh, local ingredients, and cocktails so beautifully presented you'll be tempted to sneak the glassware home. Perfect for special celebrations, they even have the cutest private dining spaces. A must-try Santa Monica spot -- and pro tip: go for brunch or lunch to soak in those stunning views. What we loved: Brioche French Toast -- hands down the best I've had in ages, non-negotiable order Crispy Jidori Chicken Sandwich -- bold, unforgettable flavors Snake River Farms Cheeseburger -- cooked to perfection, flavor on flavor Burrata salad with pistachios & the dreamiest dressing -- honestly a meal on its own-

I came here for the first time around mid-September, and I was blown away! I didn't realize it was in the Sandbourne Hotel, but the ambiance/setting of the restaurant is truly a dream. I had a reservation for lunch and was seated with a view of the pool and beach. I ordered the cutest cocktail in a seashell (Star of the Sea), which was so fabulous. In addition, I ordered the Whipped Feta, Hiramasa Crudo, and the Ahi Tuna Tartare which were all very delicious. The service was also amazing! Elias, Faustino, and Ricardo regularly checked on me. They were all so wonderful! Marelle is truly a gem in Santa Monica!

Omg I absolutely love this place for brunch for so many reasons. The ambience is nice. They have a dj playing and it really sets the vibe. There is indoor and outdoor seating. To start we ordered the shell drinks which were cute but good as well. I ordered the french toast the cream was a little much but the sides were good. Everyone enjoyed their food. I wish I remembered the waiters name she was so good even gave us comp mimosas. I definitely recommend this place.

Was looking for brunch for my friends birthday and stumbled upon this gem. The restaurant is beautiful! They treated us like royalty, had the best view, mimosas and a special treat for the birthday girl. The food was tasty! Everyone was very sweet and I will definitely be back!

Super cute hidden little gem with a cool view, nice ambiance and pretty interior. I had great pleasure dining there. Food was delicious and I would definitely come back. Respectful staff too. Loved tuna tar tar and crab cake was very tender. Great for brunch or early dinner

First time coming here how's the parking?

Just went, they have valet parking for $20, if not street and lot parking that you have to pay for and it's hard to find on the weekends.

The ambiance is beautifully done, modern coastal. Perfect for a comfortable but elevated dinner. We started with the bread service, chili wontons, and gem lettuce. The bread service was my favorite, warm, soft, and the miso butter was divine. The chili wontons were also a standout, especially if you enjoy dim sum. They had great flavor and balance. The gem lettuce was fresh and simple, reminiscent of Jon & Vinny's in the best way. For entrees we had the butter shrimp and Scottish salmon, both really good, no complaints. But honestly the appetizers stole the show for me. Would definitely come back just to try more of the starters. Such a good spot.

The bread service was disappointing and looked nothing like the photos we saw. Not sure if we got the wrong thing, but it wasn't good. The shrimp toast was decent but super heavy. The Caesar was not great, and no one mentioned it comes with whole anchovies on top. I'm fine with anchovy in the dressing, but the actual pieces were a lot. The chicken karaage was okay, again really heavy, but the sauce was the best part. We also tried the taco special which was just alright, nothing memorable. Overall, the vibe and service were good, but the food didn't live up to it. Probably wouldn't come back.

We probably waited 5-7 minutes before someone acknowledged our presence and came to seat us and check us in for our reservation. Not one server would make eye contact and even going up to the bar to try to get help did not work. When we were finally seated we had to ask for menus once we could catch a server a few minutes later. Some of us ordered drinks and we put in our food orders right away in case our waiter wouldn't come back, since everything had taken so much time already. Our coffees did come but no creamer as discussed, so again we had to flag down a waiter (always took a few attempts) before we could enjoy our coffees. Luckily, our food came out so fast! Our food was in front of us in about 10 minutes from ordering which was insane compared to the rest of the service. Our meals were delicious too! I had the breakfast burrito and did need more salsa for the other half (we had to flag down a server again). My husband gave up waiting for more salsa for his last half of his burrito and just ate it without. My friends had the smoked salmon bagel, avocado toast, and American breakfast. Everyone's meals were honestly fantastic. Finally at the end of our meal, we had to flag down our server to get our check. We ended up just paying with him as soon as he brought the check so we didn't have to wait any longer. The food is worth it but we wouldn't go back intentionally just due to lack of service.

It swings from Vietnamese small plates to a straightforward steak, and the range never settles into a point of view -- it reads less like a confident eclectic kitchen than a grab bag. The fried red snapper was the standout: crisp, well-cooked, good enough to stand on its own. It came with a fish sauce for dipping that it didn't need -- a wedge of lemon on the side would have suited it far better. The Vietnamese crab cake was a real miss; I couldn't get past it. The dumplings were fine but forgettable. Service ran to extremes. Our server was warm and eager, almost too eager -- he pushed a bottle of wine we weren't sold on, and we ordered it anyway. Then, after all that attentiveness, he disappeared toward the end of the meal and never came back. The wine list was fine, nothing memorable. There's real skill in that kitchen -- the snapper proves it -- but the meal never added up to more than its parts. I left full, not delighted.

It's located in the old Clock Tower building, and the Art Deco decor is absolutely stunning--dark enough to hide a bad day but vibrant enough for a girls' night. The Vibe: It's loud, lively, and perfectly "bohemian chic". If you're coming on a weekend, prepare for a crowd, but it's the good kind of crowded where everyone looks like they just came from a gallery opening. The Food: I'm still thinking about the Crispy Chicken Sandwich--it was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and came with a fennel-apple slaw that actually felt fresh. We also shared the Bacon Wrapped Dates (obviously) and the Hand Cut Kennebec Fries, which arrive in a bowl so huge it could basically be its own zip code. The Drinks: Their Happy Hour is arguably the best in the city. I had the Japanese Dream with matcha, and it was expertly crafted--not too sweet, which is my biggest pet peeve. The "Misfit" Moment: The service can be a tiny bit slow when it's "rammed," and there's a 4% kitchen fee that feels a bit unnecessary, but they make up for it with those complimentary sea salt chocolate chip cookies at the end. They are warm, gooey, and life-changing. One major heads-up: I heard a rumor they might be closing their doors on April 18th due to some landlord drama, so get there while you still can.

We had a reservation for 14 and somehow they lost it (even though someone called to confirm the day before) -- so they had to quickly set up a table for 14 which they clearly did not do that often -- it was all squished between plants and heaters. After waiting 10+ minutes we were finally seated. Right away we noticed that the menus were different, not drastically but enough to cause some confusion. The waitress seemed very flustered and kept mentioning that our group was not expected. We started off with drinks -- I got a strawberry lemon tart -- it was good but the strawberries were a bit too chunky for a cocktail (IMO). Some people received their drinks in a plastic glass -- I guess because it was near the pool? We ordered a number of appetizers and then our mains. The waitress wasn't sure about us even ordering a main -- it made me wonder if they actually had enough of the dishes in the kitchen. Apps were good but nothing amazing. I got the sea bass for the main and it had no spice or flavor to it -- it even had these little dollups of romesco sauce that was also flavorless. Several people at the table ordered the filet mignon -- the only beef course on the menu and one of the plates came out at least 10 minutes after everyone else received their meals. The waitress did give him a free drink for his patience. Also my other coworker told me the lobster roll was terrible and made her stomach hurt the next day. Overall I was not impressed and will not likely return for a dinner here.
