The place is super cozy and reminds me of a typical homemade food joint from back in Mexico. Customers even order everything in Español. Loved the hang at this hole-in-the-wall...Ramona and her crew were super-busy, but never stopped smiling. The food was quite good too - the tortillas are as amazing as they look. The chorizo and egg was tasty...a bit dry, but nothing their two excellent homemade salsas didn't balance out. The bean and cheese (with chorizo added) was wonderful. They were selling little tamales for $1.00 each, and the one we split was yummy. But, best for last - they were serving an AMAZING caldo de res...a delicious, rich broth with tender pieces of beef, carrots, cabbage, onion...it was perfect on a chilly afternoon....the broth was so flavorful! Hey, this is the place you walk to for breakfast and/or lunch. The setting is like in your in a small Pueblo in old Mexico, with people coming and going with that sneaky smile like they just ate the canary. The smells that emanate from the front gate entrance and increase until you enter the small dining room make you go "ahhh"! While you wait to walk up to the Dutch door ordering counter, your choices of burritos are posted on colored-cardboard, along with the celebs whom have enjoyed the fare, ie Mathew McConaughey, Mark Ruffalo, etc, you can also watch the hustle bustle of the kitchen to keep you busy while you anxiously wait to order. The options for burritos are listed and if you can't find one that quite fits your needs, then you need to get the hell out the line and out of my way. I love the Asada burrito and the breakfast works, you will be left wanting for nothing. The accoutrements are few, the beverages are sodas, coffee or juice cuz the focus is on burritos, big perfectly stuffed burritos, not quite belt busters but burritos that make you walk there so you can walk the streets of Marfa when you walk back! Super delicious, super huge, super filling, super inexpensive, and super awesome owners. And here's the best part: free delicious coffee. We arrived after Ramona had closed her restaurant, and she invited the three of us New Yorkers in and made us delicious burritos. Then she refused to let us pay for them because she was "closed." Seriously, as good as it gets. read more

Almost like going to Mexico. Their sign faces the street and cars park in front of it so it is hard to spot, but well worth looking. Burritos is all that is on the menu, but a good variety. Please note this is a cash only business. Some seating inside, but a large shaded outdoor area is great. No signs, but if you want Coke, just say Coke. If you speak a little Spanish it help but I got by being a Texas gringo. read more

We found this little charming place on a lazy Saturday morning in Marfa. We were in town for a wedding from the DFW area. We both love homemade burritos, and this place did not disappoint! The tortillas were perfect--fresh but not too greasy. They were stuffed with chorizo, eggs, beans, and potatoes. The burrito was a generous portion--even the guys will leave stuffed. As the other reviews mentioned, the lovely cooks speak only Spanish, which wasn't a problem for either of us since we've both lived in Texas our entire lives. For those who are scared of ordering in Spanish, repeat after me, "un burrito con todo, por favor." Best $5 you'll spend in Marfa. read more

Needed a break from the wannabe brooklyn transplant crowd and the seemingly made up food joints concocted to serve them in Marfa. walked into what looked like a lean-to of a home and my excitement began to lift. coundn't imagine a more home cookin' kind of joint from the exterior and interior decor. dug back into my 12th grade espanol to pull out some key eatin' words neccessary to order a burrito for me and my gal. "dos carne burritos por favor" i said loud enough for the whole 80 square foot room full of 5 locals with cowboy hats to hear and to respect me. the woman and her gal pal began to do their thing and did it super wide smile and friendly style. sat and drank some bad coffee... but how can you cuss free coffee albeit pisswater? if i want good coffee, i wouldn't be in the texas panhandle. burrito was ready.. i picked up 2 and handed over $11 in cash. splattered some local hot sauce on...
