I've been coming here for over a year and i've never had as bad of an experience as I did today. My boyfriend and I work near this location and decided to come in for our lunch break. When we walked in, employees were standing around talking, even looked back and saw us, yet didn't greet us. (maybe 2 tables in the whole restaurant) My boyfriend suggested we seat ourselves to get their attention, but I went up and asked if they were open (to be polite) and we finally were seated. It took 10 minutes for someone to get our drink orders, and another 15 along with waving someone down so we could order our meals. Every server that interacted with us acted like we were an inconvenience and we did not feel welcome. We had to ask for to-go boxes since it took so long. The food tasted good like usual, until i found a hair in the rice. Neither me or my boyfriend have black hair. I know restaurants aren't always on their A-game, and mistakes happen, but as a fellow restaurant industry employee, this was a horrible experience. Came here for lunch with some coworkers to celebrate the end of training classes. This place is mediocre to me although it is a local favorite! I knew I'd be eating Mexican the next day so I opted for a chicken burger (it's really a grilled chicken sandwich). My coworkers ordered a variety of things. Most felt that the prices were a bit much for lunch and no one was overly impressed with the taste of their food. The chicken burger was tasty but dry...no mayo or sauce. I added ranch to help that problem. The fries were tiny shoestrings. My coworker and I agreed that the fries tasted and looked leftover. She had ordered the cuban sandwich. She said it was "ok". When I tell you how fast you get ur food it's incredible. I timed it and made an order got the food 5 minutes later. Perfect service and exceptional food. THIS PLACE DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS!!!!! This is the place to be! While visiting Birmingham, i stayed at the Hampton Inn. When checking in, the receptionist at this desk suggested we come to Margarita Grill because they have great margaritas, which she added that they sneak up on you lol, and that they have a great fajita salad. Since the restaurant was right next door to the hotel, we thought why not! We decided to just walk over. When we arrived, the majority of the staff were waiting at the very front and greeted us with a smile!! With no wait at all, the hostess walked us to a table. This is where the service gets OUTSTANDING! Within maybe two minutes of us being seated, out waiter, Bryan, took our drink orders and chips and salsa followed behind. My boyfriend ordered a Dos Equis and i had a strawberry margarita! When i say the drinks were at the table in two minutes, i was appalled and how quick the drinks got back to us. The night before at twin peaks our waitress was not so good so it was very refreshing to have Bryan going above and beyond. We ordered guacamole which was made fresh infront if us! It was really good too! For our entrees, i ordered the fajitas and he ordered the Juans fajita quesadillas! Everything came out hot and fresh. Now the only thing that i didn't too much like was the texture of the chicken. My fajitas were on the sizzling plate but it didn't taste they were cooked that way. The vegetables were a little bland and i had hoped that they came with rice and beans and cheese. But for what it's worth, the service was so great i didn't even care that i wasn't Too fond of the fajitas!!! Bryan did an exceptional job at being attentive and friendly. I got two more margaritas before leaving (mango & strawberry/mango) and they too were good! This is a restaurant that we will definitely be coming back to. It is not a Mexican restaurant, it is more Latin food with Cuban and Brazilian dishes. Portions are small and the prices are quite high. The regular salsa is just tomato sauce and the spicy salsa has little flavor but has plenty of heat. The cheese dip is not typical queso blanco and is mostly flavorless. This is one of the most talked about places to eat in Pelham, and I can see why! I came here last weekend for the first time, and we decided to eat here....solely because I pulled over here to reply to my friends! I don't text while driving so I pulled over and here I was LOL!! I suggested my friends come meet me here, and they were here within minutes. The outside patio was nice, and you could hear music. The inside is very colorful and festive like most Mexican places typically are. The booths were a tad small for us, but two people can fit comfortably just fine. We started off with complementary chips and salsa. The chips are thin, the salsa wasn't too spicy, and the queso we ordered was a tad salty. We just kept snacking away. I tried to stop before my real food got here. There were several menu items that appealed to me so it was a tough choice! For my entree, I ended up going with Jody's Gold Chicken. The chicken was so tender! The queso blanco sauce they smother it with was perfect. I can't stop thinking about it! The rice, sliced avocado, lettuce, and pico de gallo sauce were great side dishes to the perfect entree. Portions were so huge I took the rest home and ate it as my breakfast for the next day. I was looking forward to waking up and finishing it! As for dessert, we shared the crispy sopaphilla. It sounded good when the waiter was describing it and was beautiful when he brought it out. It was like a deep fried tortilla covered in honey. I'm not a huge fan of honey, so I would probably not order it again. Staff was so kind and friendly. I can see why this is a popular place. I live in Orange Beach but do hair in Hoover. After arriving in the salon at 6am today and taking care of 10 FANTASTIC clients I needed to unwind and grab some dinner before heading back to my hotel room. So this is the place to be. Great vibe. They love Led Zepplin. Hoping little place. The outside area is jumping...all are Social Distancing for those who are worried about that. The bar tender is great he mixes the drinks right! One of our faves! The margaritas are incredible. We like to get the spicy margaritas, with chopped fresh jalapeños in the mix. Everything I've had on the menu is excellent, but the carnitas are probably my favorite. Make sure you try their delicious guacamole, made fresh at your table! One of my favorite features of this restaurant is the fact that the have live music EVERY night of the week. It's not always amazing live music, but it's wonderful to sit outside on one of their patios, sip a margarita, and listen to someone strumming their guitar. read more

Kylah ordered the seafood tacos and they were shrimp tacos with yellow rice and black bean soup. The tacos were okay and so was the rice but that damn BLACK BEAN SOUP was to die for. She instantly was noooo Ma I hate black beans. But the scent hit her nose and she tried them and finished the bowl. I almost sent my soup back for it but I didn't want the after effects the next day at work lmao. Jordyn had the cheeseburger and she added bacon and cheese. The burger was cooked medium on a grill which was perfect but was not seasoned at all but she's 12 and didn't complain but I woulda be mad. Lol. Downloaded Yelp to post this. Worst Mexican food experience I've ever had, which makes no sense because the area has a heavy Latinx presence with local taco trucks just across the street! The tacos were completely dry - large cubes of barbecued chicken with lettuce and cheese, no salsa, no other sauces. The enchiladas were made immediately out of uncooked tortillas and filled only with large cubes of chicken - which isn't what enchiladas are, and also was terrible. Also a meal for 2 people was 50 dollars? Cannot disrecommend this place enough. We left the tacos essentially untouched, the waiter took it away without comment and then returned asking "is everything great?" Nope. We felt sick the rest of the evening after having spent so much money on very low quality food. read more

Food here is delicious. They have the best chips and salsa and they're Chimichangas ate amazing! The garden and decor is really cool and it makes eating here a fun experience. This place is always packed. Atmosphere is very lively. I've been twice. First time, the food was okay but wasn't blown away and I felt it was very overpriced. Queso dip tasted kind of like Alfredo sauce so that threw me off. Service was great though. I went a second time because my friend was in town and she loves their soup. Service still great. Food...I just felt I wasted $15 for 2 dried up hard tamales and mushy street corn. It wasn't good. Don't know how the corn was mushy but it was. To be absolutely fair, this is a 3.5 star place as its just a bit above average. Margarita Grill is an excellent option for for Tex-Mex in Pelham. Priced very fairly also. I had the pollo Asado and the potion was beyond generous. It did have a very "chainey" feel to it and I am not sure if it is one, but I thought the food was good and so was the service. As it's summertime, sitting on the patio is quite nice. In the evenings, they even have live music, but the talent of the musician the night when I visited was surely on the deficient side. The food was super fresh but about $2-$3 more than most places. Fajitas are about $16 and queso dip which is usually $3 at most establishments is about $5 here. The food here is amazing and the waitress we had went above and beyond. We had a large party and had to be separated due to COVID-19 protocol and I was fine with that. It's nice when a restaurant takes safety seriously. The entire staff wore masks. I had the chimichanga and it was perfectly fried. It comes with rice and beans, as well as a sour cream salad (lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream). I also tried the elote (street corn) and it was flavorful and good. Overall, the price I feel is definitely higher than most Mexican restaurants in the area. The fajitas are thirty dollars, which I feel is a bit pricey. Great restaurant, though. So I think Pelham Alabama is just not a good food district day 2 of my travels and I had Margarita Grill, positives the salsa and chips were very good. It ended there. Fajitas were very overpriced and weren't seasoned at all, very bland. Ordered queso and chorizo which was super expensive for the smallest portion you could imagine.
