Cheese dip is so delicious !!
    Jessica P.

This is definitely my go to Mexican restaurant. I've been coming here pretty much since they opened, and my son was in a highchair. I love to come here because of the raspberry margaritas but when I came tonight, they didn't have any. I'm hoping they didn't get rid of them. I ended up getting a frozen peach margarita which was really delicious and I got the steak quesadillas. Both were equally delicious. Jonathan was our server and he said he'd only been there two days but he seemed like he's been doing it forever. He was very attentive and friendly. Again, I wish they would redo the bathrooms because they look pretty rough. I didn't sit in the bar area because there was live music and it was extremely loud so I ended up sitting in the dining area. They do have a cute little bar where I'm sure they have a lot of regulars that go there. If you haven't ever been there, I highly suggest giving it a chance.

Stopped in with my wife, daughter and SIL. We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. The atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting. The staff were very friendly. The food and drinks were very good. The homemade chips were amazing. We all enjoyed our food and service.

ALWAYS Great food & service. We regularly drive the 45 min trek just to eat here! Our all time favs are Jody's Gold Chicken and the Mesquite Carne Asada. My husband could live off of their Spanish Chicken Soup alone!

Service- no negative feedback. Ambiance- Typical Mexican decor. Food- I ordered a chimichanga with chicken served with beans and rice. The chimichanga was crispy, chicken was moist and flavorful. Verde sauce complimented my entree. The beans were silky, creamy and seasoned well. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. Price point- $15+tip. Worth the money paid for lunch.

Burrito Loco ( chorizo, potatoes, bell pepper and onion) topped with sour cream, melted Monterey jack cheese served with rice and beans

If you're craving hearty Tex‑Mex in Pelham, Margarita Grill delivers big in flavor and fun. Here's a taste of what makes it stand out. Their Burrito Loco-- packed with chorizo, potatoes, bell peppers, onions, and topped with sour cream sauce and melted Monterey Jack cheese. It's savory, satisfying, and beautifully messy in the best way. This spot buzzes with energy. Whether lively live‑music nights on the dog‑ and family‑friendly patio or colorful interior Tex‑Mex décor levels up the mood, bringing a vibrant social vibe . Perfect for a casual dinner, celebration, or upbeat night out. Service here strikes the ideal balance: warm, genuine, and unhurried--even when busy.

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, so I decided to come for my birthday. The live music is a great vibe except if seated too close it becomes too loud. We got queso which was not good. It tasted like mac and cheese sauce which was interesting. The food was good, they put lots of cheese on top and inside of my chimichanga. Our server took his time taking care of us which might have been because it was later in the night. Nothing beats Cozumel but it was not a bad alternative

Looks like salt shaker was dipped in salsa or some other food

Cleanliness is not a high priority . Salt shaker was so full of dirty food no salt came out . Margarita served in a Dirty beer mug. Gulf shrimp taco had only 4 tiny shrimp and not much else in it. Black beans was mainly liquid Hearty soup was mainly broth Over priced and poor quality food Very noisy Music in bar was good, but very loud Would give this place a negative 5 if possible

    Raspberry lemonade

I'm lying here, on my comfy Hampton Inn bed, almost doubled over in pain. How could an appetizer and a veggie side fill me beyond full? Could it have been the 3 Tito's raspberry lemonades? Uh, maybeeeeee. After fighting Birmingham traffic (Huntsville may be the biggest city in Alabama but Birmingham definitely wins with traffic). I decide that I was done driving and chose to walk across the hotel parking lot rather than go back out into that mess. Good thing I wasn't driving - did I mention Tito's? It was super windy, yet I, and apparently most other diners, chose to eat outside on the large, semi covered patio. It was so windy that my extra crisp, extra delic chips were flying off of my table. I wasn't exceptionally hungry so I chose to stick with an app - quesadillas, to which I added carnitas. The 8 little wedges, served with lettuce, tomato, and a little guac and sour cream, didn't look like much but turned out to be way more than enough. They were absolutely delicious. Because I "only" ordered an app, I also ordered a side of street corn. I didn't really care for it, the cheesy "crust" was just too overpowering. I'd be remiss to not comment on the raspberry lemonade(s). They were good but all three were made differently, one being so tart it reminded me of the Atomic Sour candy my kids used to eat. If I had to do it over, I'd probably opt for one of the large variety of margaritas or another tequila drink. The girl at the front desk of the Hampton Inn recommended that I eat at Margarita Grill. She didn't steer me wrong - maybe y'all should offer her a referral discount!

The bartender was friendly and she fixed some darn good drinks. They have live music, a plus in my book. They also have outside seating. We started with fried oysters and fried crab claws, both could have been seasoned a little more, other than that they were pretty tasty. I ordered the twice baked tater with chicken and it was surprisingly good and loaded with chicken. My husband had the 1/2 rack of ribs with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. The ribs were very tender but needed more smoke flavor. The baked beans were not good; lacked flavor and tasted like canned pork and beans. The mac and cheese was decent, nothing to brag about. The owner/manager stopped by and apologized for the wait. It took a while for our appetizers to arrive. I appreciate the fact that he took the time to address the wait as he did with other customers. Our server was friendly, very attentive and also apologized for the wait. We do plan on returning to try other items on the menu and to have a good drink.

Hillside Music & Que just recently opened under new management. It was most recently Palm & Pig. I tried it when it was Palm and Pig and I thought it was rather good. Hillside is located near the Vestavia City Center right next to Bob's Power Equipment, which ironically has been in that location for over 20 years at least. Hillside is located on at the end of a small strip so they have a nice outdoor space with a covered patio. It's great for a guitar player and with big heaters is even pleasant to sit out there (when it wasn't Hillside). The interior is quite large despite the small entrance. It extends quite far to the back. They have a nice little bar and a good side stage for their many live performers. In fact their very model for this restaurant thrives on live performers with "Band Inquiries Call 205-901-2225" centered on their menu! Our party arrived on bustling Friday evening. Luckily we didn't have to wait long at all and got a table right away. Our server arrived quickly and got our drink orders. There wasn't a performer but the place was loud with chatter. While we were there, a two man guitar group started setting up. Our drinks arrived promptly and our orders taken. About 15 minutes later our food arrived. Matthew tried the Diablo burger. I had to have a bite and it was spicy as promised. Their "Dooom a -que" sauce wasn't bad. Tammy and Jack tried the Philly. Shaved ribeye, caramelized onions and topped with American cheese on a cuban roll. It also wasn't bad. Plentiful grilled beef and good bread. Sarah had the Hillside burger. It was also good and burger a nice medium. I tried the shrimp poboy. Lettuce, onion, pickle were topped with 6 perfectly fried shrimp in a slightly toasted hoagie bun. After I lathered it with the smoked tomoato aioli sauce which was served on the side, I took my first bite and was impressed. I've had worse and this poboy was quite enjoyable! Yom Yom Yom. We also really enjoyed the "okra fries". The cucumber salad was rather underwhelming and the fries were soggy and undersalted. Surprisingly none of us tried any of their bbq. A good reason to return. We had a good time and had great service. If you enjoy good ole southern comfort food and good live entertainment, give Hillside a try.

The cook's name is Joseph and he knows how to season. My only complaint was that it's a bar at night so still smoke filled during the day. I noticed a LOT of outgoing orders. The first time we waited around 15 minutes at a table before anyone acknowledged us, and the second time was basically the same experience sitting at the bar. Friendly service definitely wasn't the strong point here either. That said, the food honestly saved this review from being much lower. The wings had a fantastic sauce with great flavor, the fried pickles were crispy and addictive, and the fried green tomatoes were genuinely delicious with a really solid batter. Even the beers were ice cold and crisp, which fit the vibe perfectly. The biggest issue is that the pricing feels a little high for the overall experience and environment. If you're charging those kinds of prices, the cleanliness and service really need to match it better. If you're coming strictly for fried bar food and cold beer, you'll probably enjoy it. Just don't expect attentive service or a polished atmosphere.

I found out a comedian my husband really likes was going be at the StarDome during Father's Day weekend. I decided to order tickets online so I could take him to see this comedian. Our show started later than the time listed on our tickets because the comedian went over, which was not a problem for me. If the comedian is giving the audience more time, I'm cool with that.
