So I gave them another chance and ordered a taco salad tonight - and here again I'm looking at a half empty shell w with soggy wet lettuce, beans and cold beef. The food is very inconsistent. The first time I went was about a month ago. I found the chicken was rubbery and gross, so I ate around it. A friend of mine had her birthday here last week so I tried again, and I'm glad I did. The food was like night and day! Chicken was noticeably better quality and I also tried the skirt steak off of a friends plate, and that was excellent too. My family of 4 went to Margarita Cafe for Sunday dinner. We waited at least an hour for our ordered meals. Fist the waitress told us that there was no more lobster for our granddaughter's dish, so she had to review the menu and reorder. After a little more waiting, our son's paella was served, as well as some of the ingredients of my wife's vegetable fajitas. They then brought out our granddaughters quesadilla, and another one for me (not what I ordered), so I repeated what I ordered and also requested that the rest of my wife's dish be served. When my barbecued shrimp and chicken came out it was a disappointment. The 3 shrimp were tasty but drowned in a sweet sauce. The chicken was tough and likewise drowned in the sweet sauce. The beans were tasteless, in a watery liquid, and sparce. The rice was OK, but missed the beans. We spoke to the manager, who apologized, gave us free dessert and coffee and discounted the price of the meal. We used to eat at Margarita's in Hicksville frequently and always had good food and service. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Wow. Never in my 35 years of life have experienced the absolute worst service and disrespect in any establishment or restaurant. I had a 7:45 reservation with my 7 month pregnant fiancé and was finally seated at 8 o'clock. Fine, no big deal. The waiter (who barely spoke English) takes our order and right away knew he wasn't going to get it right because he clearly wasn't paying attention or writing anything down. I asked him, "you get that?" He nodded yes. Ok. An hour and a half later no food. We flagged him down and he says it'll be right out (of course). 15 minutes later, he brings out the wrong order, doesn't even ask me what the correct order was and disappeared again. I understand places get busy on the weekends, I understand sometimes people make mistakes, but this guy just did not care, clearly. This place has decent Mexican food but the service is the worst I have ever experienced in ANY restaurant. You can get better service at McDonald's or Burger King. The table next to us was even upset with their service and the entire night the wait staff kept bringing the wrong dishes to to wrong tables. Clearly these guys can't handle the amount of tables they seat. The icing on the cake is that the manager could care less, offered no solution or help. We finally threw $20 on the table for an order of Guacamole and walked out. That is the last $20 I will spend at ANY Willys Margaritas. read more

She messed up multiple orders and I guess caught wind she wasn't going to get a great tip for being rude and changed it to 6 people to include the tip in you bill. I go weekly for their fajita special (2 for $25) on Wednesday's. After ordering the fajitas special today, when I asked for my check, it was double the price. I kindly told my server that I am there every week for this & was just there last week paying $25. He brought the manager over who was disgustingly rude. He ignored me completely while I was speaking to him & literally told me he does not care and that they stopped doing that deal TODAY. It is still posted online that they do the 2 for $25. Not a good experience. I understand we are in a rough time but there was a sign in front of the restaurant with daily offers. Wednesday said 2 meals for $20. We went home came back and were told it's not "right now" That sign should not be in front of the restaurant showing what the restaurant offers if it's a lie. Service was very slow even with minimal tables and overpriced. We asked twice to turn the music down slightly and were told ok and it never was. Again, I hope the restaurant does well. We went to Margaritas Cafe on a Sunday night. I don't understand why there are negative reviews about this place. Why are people so sour and picky. It's a fun place to go to with our without family. The food was good and the service was friendly and up to speed. There was a mariachi band roaming the restaurant taking requests. The decor is well done and we really enjoyed this place. We also had two Casa Margaritas each and felt no pain. Good enough for me. Go and enjoy yourselves. Don't go if you're looking to review for a national magazine. This place is great and Long Beach is lucky to have them here. read more

Really was hoping to enjoy this place but was extremely disappointed. We had a reservation and still had to wait 10 min to be seated. Once seated we were not even acknowledged by a waiter for at least 15 minutes - no water no drink order nothing. The waiter finally came over without even apologizing for the delay. The sangria was simply not good - so sugary with little to no alcohol in it. My friend and I ordered the fajitas and we had to ask the waiter 3 times to bring over the tortillas that come with the fajitas!! How do you not bring a tortilla with a fajita??? I've gone to Margarita's Cafe twice now with a group of people and the food is so good. They can't do enough for you, the service was terrific and the staff was super nice. I have never been so shocked with a dining experience. It started with us being seated and we got drinks and guac pretty timely and both were very good. When it came to dinner three of us ordered combinations. Every combination was wrong. Two of them were minor details - asked for double rice and got rice and beans instead. The big problem was the third combination. When taking the order my meal was not written down so he came back to ask...No problem understandable. Then when my meal came out it was completely wrong and had meat when i am a vegetarian and stated that before. We called the server over and he asked again what i wanted and said he would change it. Comes out again STILL WRONG and has meat again. I then have the manager come over and he asks what i want and takes my meal back and brings the new one out. AGAIN still wrong. At this point I did not care because there was no meat but still not what i ordered. Neither the waiter or owner was apologetic and did not take it off the bill. When the bill came we just wanted to pay and get out so we threw all three cards in. The waiter came and said he can only take two (we were there about a month back and used 4 cards so that was false) but again we took a card out just to get it over with. I can not believe how unprofessional the owner and waiter was. I will NOT be going back. read more

Our party of 5 arrived at 6:40 pm and we were told by the hostess that we would be seated within 10 mins. About 18 people came in after us and we watched as they were all seated within 5 to10 mins. of their arrival . When I inquired why, the hostess said that it's difficult to seat 5 people. There were many vacant tables for four and 2 right next to each other! The manager actually cleared and set our table, after we told him that we have been waiting for 45 mins. We ordered quickly but our meals came out very slowly, and 1 at a time, 5 minutes apart. Also, although the music was a nice touch, it was painfully loud. We couldn't hear each other talk. Well right off the bat , no reservations taken for weekends at all ! That is just ridiculous ! I can see for 2 to 4 people even maybe 6 , but I needed a table for 10 to 12 people and was told no reservations! I have been down that road and what happens is we get left at bar with a huge bar tab and finally seated to pay more for drinks and food. Too bad! Someone else got the paella and all the seafood was over cooked and chewy. The waitress was never around. Took over 30 min to find her to get the check. I will not go there again.
