I have nothing bad to say about the place. The service was on point, maybe because we arrived right when they opened at 3pm. There's tons of parking as well and the ambiance is like any typical Mexican restaurant. Now let's get to the food. I had their special El Guapo burrito. The burrito was fresh and hot when it arrived. The chorizo and chicken went well together. Didn't think it would but it worked and I really enjoyed it. The rice and beans were homemade which is always good. I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu. If you're hungry and around Salem NH area be sure to try this spot. I hadn't been to Margaritas in years, and this visit reminded me why. We went on a Saturday evening, just before Cinco de Mayo, and surprisingly, the place wasn't as busy as expected. We were seated at the very back near the space they seem to use for private events, which is open to the rest of the restaurant and unfortunately, that was overwhelming. There was so much going on in that area between being super loud guests behind us, a noisy private party next to us, and two different types of music playing at the same time. It was overstimulating and made conversation at our table almost impossible. To make it worse, that area was unbearably hot. We were sweating just sitting and waiting for our food. Service was noticeably slow which shocked me because again, they weren't busy!!!!! Our table was missing utensils, and I had to ask twice just to get a cup to serve myself water. My friend ordered the birria tacos, which came with the tiniest container of broth and a sad "side" of four tiny pineapple chunks that weren't fresh. One more taco or a side of rice would've made that dish feel complete. I ordered the margarita flight, which I drank mostly because I had paid for it. The drinks watered down super fast because of the heat, so they weren't enjoyable. On the bright side, my chicken taco salad was actually delicious. Our server came by a few times but nothing stood out. The bathroom, however, did, it felt like stepping into a personal sauna. There always seems to be something off at this location. Went here for dinner last night. We had a table of 10 of us with two children four-year-old and an infant.. drinks for promptly ordered appetizers reserved. We didn't have to wait to be seated. We were staying at the hotel and we knew we were coming here afterwards we had gone to a wake down the street, so everyone was hungry. We all had excellent dinners with plenty of sour cream and guacamole to go around. A few had ordered fish tacos and a couple of people ordered quesadillas chicken and steak.. all the food was delicious. I do think the drinks were a little pricey. Stopped in for some Mexican food and drink. The Ambience was your typical Mexican restaurant. But the drinks were ok had the Cadillac margarita with the traditional salt on the rim. I must say that the waiter was very polite and suggestive for a young man I was pleased. The food was excellent I got the sweet corn dip with chips and it was the bom excellent the salsa was yummy as well for the main course was a steak enchilada with rice and black beans it was delicious I was very impressed the other two meals were a steak fajita.with the fixings and a combo enchilada with all the fixings everything was perfect and delicious it's the first time I tried Margarita's as they are a chain of restaurants and I usually don't go there but like I said they were really good with everything food served hot. Back in the day, this place was hopping. On weekends you'd wait forever for a table. Now... it's dead. It doesn't seem to matter what time you go...the place is mostly empty. If it weren't attached to the hotel, it probably wouldn't still be here. Which is honestly sad, because the space has so much potential. We've given it many, many chances over the years, hoping it would improve, but each visit seems worse than the last. The drinks and queso are still good, but everything else is pretty awful. Stopped into Margaritas in Salem while working nearby and had an amazing experience! Our server, Leidy, was outstanding -- she recommended the Spicy Mango Margarita with a spicy rim (incredible!) and guided us to the fish tacos and chicken chimichanga, both delicious. The manager even stopped by our table -- something you rarely see these days -- and it made the experience feel extra special. We'll definitely be back whenever we're in the area. We ordered drinks which took 25 minutes to get. We pointed out to the waitress that there was salsa smeared on the tiles above our table. She seemed disinterested and didn't apologize for the oversight or offer to clean it. She took our order which took 30 minutes to get delivered. Wife ordered a Carnitas Burrito, came out wrapped with the microwave tinfoil, a bare, tortilla wrapped bunch of DRY meat...no sauce, cheese, salsa etc. Looked like it was from BJ's microwave section. I ordered the Carnitas Enchiladas, looked better, some cheese and Sour cream drizzled on it, but just a bunch of dry meat inside a tortilla. Terrible. New England is not known for good Mexican, but this was atrocious. Small wonder it went from being mobbed on a Friday evening, to being a ghost town. Never again. read more

Perhaps the high winds were carrying the chlorine from the pool at the attached Holiday Inn like some kind of foul sea breeze. Bets hotel restaurant in a long time. Normally I stay in Holiday inns and avoid the lobby restaurant. In this town there are few choices so the Bobby joint was my best option. Had an order issue, and when I called the restaurant to speak to a manager, the supposed manager (mikaela) was extremely rude and abusive, and ended up hanging up on me when I asked her for a corporate number to call after she blamed me for the fact that chips were missing in the bag. I will never be back here and will be following up with corporate to ensure this 'manager' is trained correctly. When I asked her for the number, she hung up on me. Not how you treat a customer who just paid $75. We had no idea, but our incredible waitress Maddie immediately asked and made us aware that we were about to save 50 percent on our bill! Maddie was very put together and on top of our service. She was very accommodating with some substitution requests we made in regard to the menu, and we never waited for a thing! We didn't sit at the bar, but the bartender had everyone laughing (TANYA) and bolstered the atmosphere to another level! We will be back and will gladly pay full price for this experience! Aiden is a STAR. My SIL had her rehearsal dinner followed by a party for out of town wedding guests, and then a wedding after party the night of the wedding at Margarita's. There were probably 150 people that came in different shifts, and the servers were SO efficient and friendly throughout dinner service. And, despite people playing musical chairs, they went to great lengths to make sure everyone got their correct order, which was well above and beyond in my opinion. During the after party our main server Aiden absolutely outdid himself. Seriously, I am not sure that man took a moment to himself in the 6+ hours we were there. Not only did he make sure the drinks were flowing and that there were nibbles available, he kept the water coming. A lot of times water is hard to come by at these sort of events because the focus is on the money-making alcohol. My man Aiden was tireless, always had a smile and made everyone feel like honored guests. Seriously, Aiden, reach for whatever you want to do in life- you have the most honest drive and over the top work ethic I have seen in a long time. You will make it far in whatever you choose to apply yourself to. Thank you for making this special event feel personal, you really are amazing. It was very dark and the lights above the table made everything look strange. The music was very loud for 4:00 in the afternoon. We were in Salem for a girls trip shopping. We had Lianna for our waitress and she was so energetic and kind. We had a great night.

It was the first time to this Margaritas location for my boyfriend and I. The Pros and Cons of this visit...? The staff were all nice and friendly. Our waiter was in training, but he did awesome! He even got our small special requests correctly. His trainer was pretty good too. The food was absolutely delicious! We also loved the good/large amounts of food. The prices are very good! The restaurant and bar atmosphere was pleasant and enjoyable, not too dark or loud. Despite the above listed Pros of our late night dinner visit,...the Cons weigh too heavy for me to give this restaurant more than 1 star. One of the bench seats at our booth had a rip/slit that was almost two feet long and at least two inches wide in the center. (We sat next to each other on the other bench, which is fine.) One of are two plates (to eat off of) was dirty,...it had small crumbs that I first just went to wipe off (gross),...but then felt things stuck on the plate. I ordered a vodka and lemonade,...it was watery and had only a faint taste of lemon, with a strong taste of pure sugar,...didn't taste any vodka at all. I drank half of it, then ordered another one, but this time I asked for it to be 'chilled, straight up'. It did come straight up/no ice,...but not chilled at all, almost warmer than room-temp. AND it had two tan specks floating in it that I tried to fish out to no avail. AND the glass had visible, sticky fingerprints around the brim,...crud all over the outside of the glass and when I went to lift the glass off of my napkin, there was a bright red (like cherry juice) ring and a spot the size of a dime, that came off the bottom of glass onto my white napkin. While we were sitting on the same side of the booth eating, drops of water dripped on us from a vent in the ceiling,...so we had to slide away from each other so it would just drip onto the bench and not us. Knats were flying around and landing on our glasses, which we had to repeatedly swat away. I asked for the manager and first complimented him for all of the Pros,...then told him about the Cons. He removed my two undrinkable drinks from our bill and apologized. So,...at that point I was thinking that (MAYBE) I could give a 2 or 3 star review,...but then... I figured that I would use the ladie's room before we left. As I was walking across the restaurant, a very large mouse (or it may have been a rat), ran out in front of me, about four feet ahead of my path. I turned around quickly and reported it to the first staff that I saw (the bartender). Needless to say, we will never eat at this location again,...and I do not recommend that anyone else do. read more

Between 620-7 they said every 10 minutes is being wrapped up and will be right out. After 710 rolled around we asked for a refund- which they processed and were apologetic. Upon entry I was hit with this amazing wave of stuffy heat and humidity. So thankful they didn't have the air conditioning on. Walking in from 83°+ heat in the sun, I thought I wanted to enjoy a cool restaurant but let's be honest the warmth really relaxes you. We were immediately sat at a table, and given a solid 15 minutes to look over the menu, drink menu, menu, drink menu, menu, drink menu and look around to see how many other patrons were in the restaurant. We were expecting to see a lot of people. But alas just a few other tables there. We received our drinks in about 10 minutes. Thankfully the sweat from our brows kept us cool during that time We ordered our appetizer (soup dujour?) and our meals at the same time because of the recommendation of the waiter. And we usually are reluctant to do so because eating your appetizer and meal at the same time is a downer. We received our nachos and the bottom 1/2 was sitting in a soupy mix of cheese, wet canned chicken, and of course soggy nacho chips. Yea. Let's move on. We asked for another round of drinks before we finished our current round. The waiter kindly got our drinks but put a root beer for one of my children on the edge of the table without making sure to let us be aware. Guess what happened, yup the drink was knocked over and landed in the booth. Don't worry, root beer doesn't have caffeine, but boy does it have sugar. I know that because of how sticky everything became. The seat, the table, phone, floor, shirt, shorts. The waiter did apologize. Also asked if he should take the appetizer off the bill, before we commented, almost like he knew it wasn't that good. But I digress. Probably a one time thing (eye roll emoji) By this point we are annoyed, and can barely finish our meals. They were not much better. The problem isn't the uneducated staff of the restaurant. It's management. Why is the ac not working? Why isn't there someone to greet people at their table after the host/hostess sits them? Where is quality control for the kitchen? I can guarantee that none of those meals came out the way they were originally intended, regardless of ingredients. Why isn't someone constantly training the staff?
