My mom and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was no one in the restaurant when we went. We were seated at a table but we preferred a booth so I asked if we could move to a booth. Food was good and bad. Chimichanga with pork (uncharged of course). The pork was small in portion and large on fat. The "fried" chimichanga was soggy and seemed overcooked. My wife could not eat even a quarter of it. When we complained, we were told, that's why we don't serve pork with chimichangas. What? We've had pork/carnitas chimichangas many times. Never like this. The mega Texacono burrito was good but only came with a teaspoon of pico and guac. Asked for more because there was obviously such a tiny amount that it should have come with more to begin with. Was charged an extra $5.50 for what should have been provided to begin with. When we complained about the cost for what should have come with it to begin with, we were told it's just a garnish to make it look good. What? Again, I've had these kinds of foods before, they usually come with more than just a "garnish" of pico, guac, sour cream, etc, "just to make the food look good". Also, waitress asked if everything was ok when she brought the check. Obviously a rhetorical question from her. When we started to tell her we had issues that were severe enough that we wanted to complain about the food and the check, she copped an attitude right out of the gate. So we asked for the manager. The manager gave the answers provided above. Another thing worthy of note, when confronted with our issues, instead of apologies with assurances that these things should not have happened and that they will be rectified. We were presented with excuses why we got what we got and why we made wrong choices. Sorry, but we have been around the block a few times and did not complain about anything that was not worthy of complaint. We were told the people come in early and work hard. What? I work hard as well. And had to work 2 hours to pay for one meal with my wife that she didn't even eat. Very disappointed. I stopped by here while visiting the ski resorts. I've lived a couple of years in Texas so I have pretty high standards for Mexican food. I'm used to bad mexican food on the East Coast these days, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the tortillas and the homemade salsa. I hate to do this. to start, the host told us there would be a 35-minute wait, just for us to look around to see a practically empty restaurant. when we finally got seated, we were served stale tortilla chips, half-assed-tasting salsa, and a bowl of "cheese dip" that we did not order (but were later charged for). it was at this point that we realized we had not met our waitress (after around 40 minutes of scarfing down stale chips). I've personally worked in restaurants far busier than a hometown spot. My girlfriend and I have eaten here several times. The first time wasn't very appealing, but we believe it was because they had recently opened. The food gets better every time we visit. This review really needed an update. The past few times my husband and I have eaten here, it has really gone downhill. The bathrooms are dirty, and I mean really bad. Also, the service is not what it used to be. I have found that you need to ask for everything - silverware, more drinks, napkins, your check, etc. Our last experience especially was very disappointing. Our waitress was very inattentive. We were done eating, drinks empty, and we waited for several minutes for our waitress. I eventually get up to get her, and I find her and another staff sitting around the corner at the bar. We have eaten here several times and never had an issue. This time we ordered two fried chimichangas one beef and one chicken to go. I picked up the order and it was total mush and not even fried. I called to have them replaced and they were very polite and apologetic, but after checking the food again I was absolutely disgusted. They gave us one chicken chimichanga and one HALF beef HALF chicken (supposed to be all beef), covered in tomatoes (which I specifically asked to be omitted due to an allergy), and beans that were so overcooked they were inedible. This authentic restaurant has not only amazing food, but great staff. This last visit we were told at the door their air conditioning was not working, but we decided to tough it out. The waitresses had to be miserably hot as they ran around constantly keeping up with their tables. They apologized for the lack of AC. Came to Margiritas for Cinco de Mayo festivities. It was LIT! Giant margs were delicious as was the white queso. Slight language barrier with staff but we adapted and overcame. The food came out over 40 minutes later and not all at the same time. Had to ask for the sides and tortillas for my daughters fajitas. Part of our order never did come at all and when we told them to forget it and remove it from the check they insisted we take it to go so they could still charge us! There are few decent Mexican restaurants in our area. This one is good, but not extraordinary. I ordered fried chimichangas and my husband had the chicken fajitas. My chimichangas were not crunchy, although our waitress confirmed that they were fried. She explained that when they put the sauce over them, they are no longer crunchy. I didn't care for the texture, but they tasted okay. My husbands meal was supposed to have a side guacamole salad, but she said that they had no ripe avocados so no salad. The margarita was good. My husband and I were in Mt. Pleasant and were planning to go to Applebees. As we drove around the parking lot I noticed the sign for Margaritta's across the lot and in the strip mall. We switched gears & decided to go there. What a pleasant surprise. Authentic Mexican decor and we heard upbeat Mexican music being played over the speakers. The menu gives so many choices, but I'm a die hard Chimichanga fan from our years of having lived in California and Florida. I was not disappointed. They were fabulous (there were 2 of them served as an entree along with excellent refried beans.
