I dropped on in to this shop on Black Friday. My bro in from out of town needed some batteries for his watches. My parents recommended this spot to him. Gentlemen in the store was very nice and knowledgeable. He knows what time it is. We waited there while he serviced the two watches took about 15 - 20 min. You can also take a walk downtown if you don't want to wait there. As we waited a lot more customers started to roll in for service. Seems to have a lot of regular customers. Clocks, watches anything to do with time he repairs and sells. Coo coo clocks, grandfather clocks, any type of watch, and even saw some Mickey Mouse watches. Coolest thing I saw there was the cat clock. Who remembers someone who had this clock? With the eyes and tail moving left to right. Timeless. I am, I guess you could consider a collector of Invicta Watches. I have a few and find it very hard to find a jeweler that can work on them. A few years back I actually found Margi Brothers in Covina and had them re-size a band for me. These are not your simple knock out a pin and change no problem, they're a little more complicated than that. In recent years I've lost a lot of weight and of course the watches were loose on my wrist. So into Margi Brothers I went and spoke to Raymond, he was the same gentleman that had helped me previously a few years back. I tried them on, he looked and said ok, let's do it. So of the 3 I brought in, 2 Sub-Aqua's and one Venom watch he was able to adjust with no problem. I don't need to find a watch/jewelry repair anymore, Raymond at Margi Brothers is the guy. Took in 4 watches for batteries and repairs. One needed a new band one needed a new pin and another needed the second hand fixed. And also got my necklace cleaned while I waited. I came here on a Saturday morning to get my automatic watch regulated because it was -30s per day. I was the only one there because they had just opened up and Raymond helped me right away. I was in and out of the shop in less than 30 minutes. Raymond was able to get it to -/+0 sec but when I checked it the next day it was about -6 sec a day. A watchmaker not finding a part is compares to a plumber going to Home Depot and can't find pipe. Save your time and find a reputable service center. I bought a vintage Gucci watch online that the seller claimed that the watch was running with a new battery. I got the watch on Monday and found out the watch wasn't running at all! It was frustrating because I paid so much already and I didn't know if it was the watch itself or it needed a new battery. So I searched for watch repair shop around me, Margi Brothers showed up on the search. I decided to give it for a try because the seller does not accept return on the watch, so I must get it repaired. Mr. Margi was very helpful. He examined the watch and told me the watch needed a new battery ($25, vintage Gucci needs the best battery. It is an old grandma) and tune up, I can pick up the watch the next day. I was very happy to hear that and left the watch with him since I got there close to closing time. Mr. Margi did not disappoint me when I came back, my watch is alive and running, I can hear its heart beating when I put my ear next to it; also, he gave me one year warranty on the battery and tuning. Four months ago I had the battery changed and recently my watch stopped. I took my watch back to get a new battery thinking it had been longer than four months. Mr. Margi explained that the battery was still good and then proceeded to tune-up my watch and lubricate the inside, which fixed the issue.When he was done he said, "the battery was still good so there would be no charge." Came today to get a new battery for my Relic watch and was greeted by a very nice man and woman. The cost of battery was extremely affordable ($8) and he was done in less than 10 minutes! I am so glad that I am supporting a local mom & pop type shop instead of a major corporation who is going to charge me at least 2 times the cost of what the service may be. All in all, a very pleasant experience and will be back for future purchases (they also sell jewelery & watches here). Oh and another thing, they also have layaway options for their jewelery (i.e an engagement ring). They accept debit/credit cards with $15 minimum, although cash is still King! read more
