We inherited a grandmother clock that hadn't worked in years! Their technician, Mark came out to take a look. He took the mechanics with him and did a complete overhaul. The clock is working great now! Showed us the proper care for the clock and we couldn't be happier. We also had a mantle clock we got from my late father-in-law. This clock also never worked and we wrote off as just a paper weight. Turned out it's actually a French antique. Mark took a look and was also able to get this one working too. Quality work. Had an antique family heirloom mantle clock repaired. Work was done two months faster than I expected.

Our grandfather clock, pushing 40 years old, had ground to a halt. As the clockmaster of Perfect Tyme explained it to us, gear shafts turning in their individual holes tapped in the clock movement, over decades, wear down the hole they turn in until the shaft has traveled enough that the clock stops. For about half the price somebody else had quoted us to replace the movement, Perfect Tyme repaired ours - basically rebuilt it. It runs perfectly now - winds more smoothly than ever, chimes with the notes evenly timed out, and keeps time better than ever - in particular, with very fine changes in pendulum speed possible now, with the nut on the pendulum that turns to change its length more finely tunable than it was when the clock was new. There was quite the waiting time for this - but our clock wasn't going anywhere, and the wait was worth it! I'm not troubled by the notion that our grandfather clock will undoubtedly need to be rebuilt again in another forty or so years. That will be the problem of whichever of our kids gets the grandfather clock! [Edit added later] - When our clock was new, and in its early years, the closest I could get it to running exactly on time was that it gained or lost time slowly, and I would reset it occasionally - because I couldn't fine tune it any better. Now, every day I check it it's five seconds fast - not faster, just staying pat at five seconds fast - keeping perfect time as far as I can tell. I will have to give it a week or so to see if there's any point in my moving the nut on the pendulum the least little eence, or if I'm done, but even now it's keeping the best time it's ever kept. What a wonderful experience we had with Perfect Tyme! You will not find another clock repair shop this good. We have one of the last George Nelson originals made. We had a new movement installed by the grumpy clock guy in Claremont and it failed within a couple of weeks. He would blame us for sneezing too close to it or something. We left it stopped for a couple of years. I kept looking up Perfect Tyme, but it seemed at first that they only specialize in grandfather clocks. I happily found out, they are experts with a lifetime of experience in all clocks. The photos show our clock today. Perfect Tyme installed a new movement several weeks ago. We have not adjusted the clock at all since. As you can see by the photos, it is still keeping "Perfect Tyme." TERRIBLE WORKMANSHIP!! We brought our Sessions Mantle Clock in for service because it was not working as it should. Our Sister-in-law warned us not to bring it there, but because it had good reviews, we decided to go anyways. BOY, WERE WE WRONG!! WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO HER!! After months of waiting, and hundreds of dollars later, the clock continues to work poorly! Yes, we could have brought it back, but why? If they could NOT do the job correctly the first time, even though they have had years of experience, what would change!? Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer reputable clock repair companies, so sadly we throw away craftsmanship, only to buy cheap, throw away crap, made in Communist China!! read more

Our grandfather clock had the middle weight drop when we went to wind it up. We looked on line to find a clock repair to fix the problem. We were researching how much repairs like this cost. We contacted Perfect Tyme and made an appointment to have the clock looked at. We found out what needed to be done on their first visit. They came back and fixed the problem. This is solely based on their customer service. So a clock that i purchased online came to me via ups. On the box it was visibly labeled FRAGILE on it. Unfortunately it wasn't handled with care. When I opened it the battery backing of the clock broke in small pieces. So when I called the company I purchased it from they were very nice but they sadly informed me this item is out of stock and can't guarantee I would get a new one shipped just a full refund. I was heart broken because I was so in love with this clock. Mind you its a huge clock 48" in diameter very rustic and a one of a kind piece. Anyways I decided to keep the clock and try to repair it so I called perfect tyme left a message and Sue called me back promptly. She was so sweet on the phone. I was originally going to bring it to her and her husbands shop but the clock couldn't fit into our car so sue spoke to her husband and they scheduled an IN-House appointment. She was so amazing. Unfortunately I had to cancel the appointment. Good for me in the fact the company who I bought the clock from sent me another replacement clock. This one in perfect condition undamaged! :). I was so ecstatic, so I ended up returning the damaged clock back to the company.
