Stopped in tonight for dinner with the family. First time for me there. The staff was very nice, very clean inside. Ordered our drinks and appetizers, coke ( glass bottles from Mexico best ones) and nachos . I ordered the beef burrito, they had the steak, and chicken fajitas, and tacos. Food was pretty good, although something about the cheese in the burrito I didn't like so much. I would definitely go back again. This is a solid joint for some delicious (and relatively inexpensive) Mexican cuisine. The portions are large (appetizers and mains) so if you're feeling adventurous, then go ahead and order a few items to spit with your dining partner(s). We ordered the beef tacos (app), chicken empanadas (app), and the grilled vegetable enchiladas (with green sauce). Rice and beans came on the side (both were actually really good). The three of us were pleasantly stuffed, and we even had some leftovers at the end. Don't you love it when a fantastic dinner becomes a tasty lunch, also? Don't skip dessert...their flan was hands-down the best I've ever had. Their tres leches cake was nothing to sneeze at either. There is a bar at the entrance, but this little gem is dry (BYOB). They offer pitchers of sangria, piña coladas, etc. Just bring your booze! Mariachi Grill is located next to Lyndhurst Pastry Shop and it's across the street from Angelo's Italian Restaurant. I've heard so many great things about this place! So I did delivery for my first meal. I wasn't completely impressed. The carnitas were cubed, I usually like pulled carnitas. Didn't seem fresh but perhaps the drive made it think way. It said it came with rice and beans but I only got rice and was semi disappointed. This review is mainly for take out as I've never dined in. We ordered 2 chicken burritos, 1 beef burrito - a side of guacamole and a side of salsa.... our bill was $55 - which I find extremely absurd for Mexican take out -- even if the burritos were "good". They were filling and delivery came fairly quick but I wouldn't deem the price tag per burrito and especially the sides (which were served without chips) worth it -- at all. I literally opened the bag and was like, "What the... WHO serves guacamole and salsa WITHOUT chips??" I let them slide and dug in. The guac was mediocre and so were the sauces. Maybe I'm biased because I know some ridiculously good Mexican spots that serve you up as if you're family for a nice price tag -- but honestly, I'm ok with paying the price as long as the food is bomb. Food wasn't la bomba, but more - asi asi... I'll prob pass next time on take out -- but DINE IN and take advantage of their sauces and chips .. Mwuahahahaa.... *laughs menacingly* read more

I don't give 5 star reviews often but this one was well deserved. A friend and I ended up spending just over $50 on delivery and it was worth every dollar. The food arrived very quickly, hot and ready to be devoured by us. I got the carnitas taco appetizer( which was a whole meal in itself ) and my friend got a burrito. Came here after a recommendation of a friend. Of course everyone is still practicing safe social distancing but I wanted to support local businesses, so I'm still indulging my cravings. I ordered the veggie enchiladas with mole and my boyfriend ordered the beed enchiladas with mole. We decided to both get the mole sauce as the lady over the phone said the restaurant is well known for their mole and they charge an EXTRA $2.00 for the mole so I figured it was worth a shot. We also wanted a small portion of the red sauce on the side. Additionally, we ordered fried plantains. Excited to eat Mexican food, when I arrived to pick up my order I found out the total was $50.00! I'm giving this place four stars cause I think its a tad pricey. They're so consistent with their food that if you find a plate you really like, every time you go they'll really make it the exact same. After the demise of my car, I became more subway-centric. I've focused more on Brooklyn and Queens and unintentionally turned my back on semi-suburban New Jersey. But Mariachi Grill, a below-the-radar spot that I owe more to Yelp than usual, is a mere 20-minute train ride from Hoboken. The mole sauce was good, although less spicy than I'd prefer. Only gripe is I wish they had the option of making it a wet burrito and using the sauce that they put in the chicken in garlic sauce plate, which has a nice kick to it and is also has a bit of tang. It's hard to "judge" Mexican good in NJ when you live in Houston, Tx. With that said, cozy patio dining with service staff ready to serve. I was pleasantly surprised with the level of heat in the chicken enchiladas. The Salsa was terribly mild (think pico), so we added salt, lime, & jalapeños (which the server kindly provided). Also, someone in our party wanted queso (cheese dip) - which is not on the menu - & server brought out a substance similar to nacho cheese at a movie theater.
