If i could give this place a 3.5 I would. First off I thought the pizza was good. I didn't expect the sweeter sauce but I liked it. The large pizza we ordered was cheesy and the right amount of sauce. The breadsticks we had were ok. They were thin which was fine but i like a little doughier breadstick and these didn't have much to them. We also ordered a child's pita pepperoni pizza and my son enjoyed that. Aside from the good food I was also disappointed that after ordering our food through the Slice app we showed up and my son's kids pizza was not made they had forgotten it. We were all in the car with two little guys and sometimes waiting is not easy for them so the fact that we had to wait for one of the original items we ordered took our first experience rating down a little. I normally highly recommend this place, but I'm very disappointed tonight. Called to place an order 45 minutes before close (who closes at 8:45PM?) and was quickly blown off and told "yeah, we're not delivering that far." I live less than 10 mins from the restaurant and order there at least once a week, never once been told it's too far. I'm assuming I just got a lazy employee, but that's not a good way to keep your loyal customers happy. I do like their pizza, but crappy service seems to be a pretty common thread with this place. We live 30 min away and tried this for the first and last time. We got home and realized our order was wrong, called Maria's, and the girl who answered the phone stated she could do nothing for us unless we came back (an hour round trip). If you dined here, you'd be treated to 70's style hard seating with air-thin napkins and a view of busy York Road. But I digress. It's not about that. It's about the pizza. I firmly believe, despite all the pizza cutting competition, that Maria's has THE BEST PIZZA. It's a thin crust mozzarella offering with a healthy sauce-to-ratio of 40/60 (I'm Italian and use this ratio to measure good pizza balance). They toss fresh dough and they sauce is a sweet marinara. In terms of ordering, you can typically get your order within 15 minutes. On a busier day, like Sunday's (half price pizzas), can take 20-25 minutes. To put it into perspective, there's typically a line of 3-6 people on a Sunday night. Again, the parking lot is "meh", the sandwiches are good, and the dining area is "yuk." I have traveled five hours for this pizza. Every time I come to visit Maryland or Pennsylvania from the south I have to stop at Maria's Pizza. The staff are extremely friendly and the pizza is divine. The sauce is sweet and the staff are sweeter. Would recommend this pizza to anybody. The parking lot is small but I would park my car in any spot for this pizza, but that's besides the point. Ate At Maria's for the first time today and I can guarantee I'll be back! We ordered a simple lunch, a pizza with pineapple and a large order of fries. While we watched the pizza maker toss our dough (something I haven't seen in a pizza place in YEARS) our fries were delivered to our table. Can I tell you these were PERFECT fries! Crispy on the outside with a nice tender center. We were so in awe of how great the fries tasted we lost track of time and boom, here was our pizza. It was beautiful! Plenty of pineapple, beautiful brown crust and so much cheese you would have thought we ordered extra cheese. The crust was amazing. Nice and crispy but not too crispy that it would irritate your gums. Can't wait to go back and try one of their subs! read more

The list was formed and the call was made... the rest is history. "The Good" - The pizza is very good. Try it and you will be happy. - MAC machine inside if you need some cash. - The typical Pizzeria fare that is decent. - Free Delivery was fast and the food was still hot once it arrived. "The Meh" - The chicken fingers were a little off. I know that they are frozen and they are a safe bet for ordering food when pizza is not your thing. But they were a little chewy and had a funky texture. Granted the platter came with a mound of cole slaw and fries. "The Bad" - The parking. Not only can you not safely turn into the lot from York... once in the lot you can not park without thinking that the car three spaces away is going to ding ya when they open their door. read more

I love Maria's pizza so much ! I'm a pizza snob so I'm not impressed with pizza made on a conveyer belt oven . Maria's make the pizza right in front of you and in huge ovens . Each pizza is treated special as they attend to each one by hand. The sauce at Maria's is very special , fresh and bright I can tell they use fresh tomatoes because it's a tiny bit sweet but just enough seasoning to make it very delicious. The dough is always so fresh and soft but not too thick perfect consistency. And of course the cheese is amazing , soft and stretchy. It all comes together to be so delicious my family and I are addicted to this pizza. We get it at least once a week because it's irresistible. Also the service is very friendly and efficient. The pizza sauce is slightly different than others; all I can really pinpoint is that it is a little sweet and not at all tart. It is DELICIOUS! I have moved out of the area twice, and constantly returned to get Maria's pizza (on a Sunday or Monday, of course!). I highly recommend the place. On the half-price days, there can be a slightly longer wait, so I recommend calling ahead and listening to how long they say it will be -- they are very accurate. A friend of mine who has lived the area for 20 plus years recommended this place so I finally tried a cheese pizza the other day. And I'm happy that I did. My wife is a vegetarian so cheese pizza are our go to pizza's. Now I will say the prices are a bit high but if you go on Sunday or Monday it's 50 percent off. Got a 16 inch cheese for 8.50 on Monday.
