Square pepperonis and Sicilian pizza and bbq chicken slice
    Ves S.

We were in the area shopping and saw this place is now open! There was a steady stream of people just coming for pick up pizza on a weekday evening. We got some slices. The square slices were pretty tasty: we got pepperoni and Sicilian and they had the right amount of sauce:cheese:toppings. Plenty of outdoor seating and parking.

(Tookout 05/30/26 SA @ 11:00am): It was prime time for their pizza during this grand opening event! Valley Village welcomed Prime Pizza's newest location with a celebration, and the crowd came out in support. I was familiar with their original Fairfax location because of various production work in the area when their food was catered in. Founded in 2014 by Zak Fishman and James Starr for the purpose of bringing authentic 20" New York-style pizza to Southern California, they were known for their large foldable slices and square "Grandma pies" while they pride themselves on fresh dough, Grande cheese, and Stanislaus tomatoes. With hot subs, baked pasta, salads, and garlic knots, a full meal could be had. Was their pizza ready for prime time in the San Fernando Valley where there already was a glut of parlors!? PURCHASE(S) 18" Cheese Pizza Slice (COMP): Made with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), the thin crust was slightly crunchy with a light layer of sauce and somewhat chewy stretchy cheese, it was piping hot, delicious, and went down easily - yummy! Garlic Knot (COMP): Brooklyn-style garlic goodness served with marinara sauce, I loved these bready garlicky puffy treats that I always had to order if I saw them on the menu. Thankfully, we got one for free, and it was lovingly loaded with dripping garlic bits and oil, pesto, and parmesan - awesome! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=qszk381ipLzMAmJjdu7ZwA Sicilian Square Slice ($3.00; Reg. $5.25). Made with mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, pesto, and crushed tomatoes, this was hot with a somewhat airy lightly burned crunchy semi-thick crust and flavorful plentiful toppings, this was a delicious Detroit-style pizza! Spicy Pepperoni Square Slice ($3.00; Reg. $5.75): Made with mozzarella cheese, spicy tomato sauce, pepperoni, calabrian chili, and parmesan cheese, this was equally hot with a similar crust plus a ton of spicy pepperonis in every bite - wonderful! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=qq20c6w73Ex9UUY3T7g9CQ 6pc Buffalo Wings w/Ranch Dipping Sauce ($13.00): Six fried wings tossed in a medium spicy Buffalo sauce with your choice of ranch or bleu cheese on the side, these were on the smaller size, minimal meat, and a touch of crispiness, I was a bit disappointed at about $2.00/piece. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=GKOxfUQWLU3CANoa0lsIdg SERVICE A large jovial team was out walking the long line, handed out food samples, answered any questions, assisted the handful of vendor booths, and excitedly worked inside as they took food orders, etc. It was an exciting festive time and everyone was all hands on deck - congratulations! PARKING (FREE) Their private sizable lot was used for grand opening activities https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=5tJZMGmu2RNFmb7GCvKXXA but definitely had ample space any other day. Otherwise, there were plenty of timed spots along the main drag of Whitsett Ave. and all surrounding residential streets (I parked about a five minute walk away), so make sure to read all posted signs carefully - 'nuff saud. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A simple layout of an order counter, a couple pizza display cases, framed sports pictures on the wall, and an easily legible menu up on the wall behind the counter while a covered outdoor patio with sufficient communal bench seating. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the front doors and the outdoor patio while various electric ceiling and sting lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while for the event there was a DJ https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=gcMy5O20GFAJpqW-QT9QkQ spinning the tunes. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=88jhU-58721ZCLNs2FfgdA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I wish all the best for Prime Pizza's Valley Village location. There's plenty of competition in the area (Jo Peep's NY Pizza was right across the street and has been in the neighborhood since 1975), so as long as they can differentiate themselves, they should be fine. I enjoyed the pizza and garlic knot, but I'd pass on the wings next time. The menu was limited to some creative pies and accompanying items to round out a meal. The prices were relatively comparable ($28-$32/pie). And, the service was easy, quick, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $26.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Caesar Salad....

Decided to stop here for lunch, as it's new & I am always seeing people sitting on their patio. The staff was great & didn't push us to order while we decided. We finally ordered 1 pizza, 1 gluten free pizza & 1 Caesar salad - which set us back about $80 - already a little sticker shock. They don't have varied sizes of pizza, which we are used to, so don't expect to order a small or medium. They do, however offer slices, unless you want gluten free, then you have to get a whole pie. They have thin crust & "Brooklyn" square thick crust, which is absolutely NOT a crispy crust true Brooklyn pie...... I would not bother with a salad here again. A little pricey for something that looks like it came from the prepared food fridge at the local supermarket; however the lettuce was crispy & the dressing was decent. The flavor of the pizza is decent, not the best but certainly not the worst we've had. Tomato sauce was a little flavorless & while the gluten free crust was great while it was hot, when it started to cool it did get a little gummy. They have sandwiches, pasta, salad, wings & sides on their menu as well, but we didn't try any of them. Glad we tried it, but there are so many better pizza places in the valley, in my opinion.

Drove by and stopped by for lunch at this fairly new location. Private parking lot is great for me. Son ordered 2 slices of cheese and I ordered 1 slice of Spicy Pepperoni and 1 slice of Sicilian. Overall the food is good. Good atmosphere and customer service. Nice location for an outdoor eating with friends or family. No inside seating. Only outdoor seating. I was outside and slice was slightly cold. They gave me an additional hot slice. Thank you! Cheers!~

I first became familiar with Prime Pizza through their Burbank location and recently had the chance to try them again at Pizza City Fest, which reminded me why they have such a strong following throughout Southern California. Prime Pizza was founded in 2014 by Zak Fishman and James Starr and has built a reputation for serving authentic New York-style pizza with a California twist. Their dough is made with a blend of all-purpose and 00 flour and fermented for 48 hours, creating the perfect balance of a crispy yet foldable crust. They also use high-quality ingredients, including Grande mozzarella from Wisconsin and California-grown tomatoes. In addition to their classic round pies, they offer Sicilian and Grandma-style square pizzas, as well as gluten-free and vegan options. For this visit, I kept it simple and ordered a New York-style cheese slice. The slice was excellent; crispy on the bottom, flavorful, and exactly what you would want from a classic NY slice. I also ordered the garlic knots, which were absolutely heavenly. Soft, buttery, and packed with garlic flavor. They were easily one of the highlights of the meal. This location does not offer indoor seating, but there is a pleasant outdoor patio with about 10 tables available. Parking is also very convenient, with a dedicated lot and plenty of nearby residential street parking. Prime Pizza is definitely worth checking out.

The staff here was incredibly accommodating and kind. Ordered online three pies the night before my World Cup party. Needed them at 11am and Prime Pizza had them ready for pickup, on time, the next day. The tomato pie, meat Sicilian, and the well-done cheese were all fresh and delicious!! This place is the bomb. Great pizza, great service!!

Prime Pizza opening in Valley Village is the best thing that's happened to our neighborhood since Vanderpump Rules. Yesterday was the grand opening in the old space where Pizza Hut used to be and this is a BIG upgrade. This location is at the corner of Whitsett Ave and Magnolia Blvd with a small parking lot and an outside dining patio. Prime Pizza does New York style pies (round and square) , subs, and pastas. You can also buy pizza by the slice and the pizza here is high quality. For their first day of business, they were expectedly busy but the customer service remained stellar. Having Prime Pizza in the neighborhood will hopefully help out our small businesses next door and across the street.

1st up- JUSTIN is Top Notch!! Give Justin a raise!! The pizza is delicious! We ordered Supreme and a Square, the crust 10 out of 10. Don't get me started on the crust-chef kiss ‍ I couldn't get a photo fast enough before it was almost gone

Tried this place for the first time and loved everything, pizza, salad and even the cinnamon churro they have for dessert. Here's my only complain... Parking. How am I supposed to park there when it's filled with Uber Eats, Door Dash and other food delivery drivers taking all the parking spots? All they do is hang out in groups waiting for notifications of a delivery. Please do something about this.

I had a great experience with this restaurant and wanted to recognize the outstanding customer service. Our order was missing two orders of wings, which was obviously disappointing, but when I called, Sarah went above and beyond to make it right. Sarah was professional, understanding, and genuinely cared about resolving the issue. She handled everything quickly and with such a positive attitude that it completely turned the experience around. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but excellent customer service like this is rare. Thank you, Sarah, for your kindness and professionalism. It was honestly some of the best customer service I've ever received, and because of that, I'll definitely be ordering from here again!

I made it a combo and also ordered the hot lemon pepper wings. Wasn't mad about my food. It kept my tastebuds occupied for the England v France bronze game. The portions, for what I paid...I'll accept. The cheesesteak landscape in LA is still a small neighborhood. You got the mall chain, the imported-from-Philly chain (my fave), and the indie complex, where Jawny's and a handful of other developing entities reside. LA loves a good hot, chopped sandwich and businesses will continue to showcase their take on the east coast institution. Even fast service megas, like Jack in the Crack and Arby's, are making sure they can ride the cheesesteak wave. Did Jawny's keep up with my favorite? Not so much. Not with the classic. I'm not even sure what was so proprietary about the house made Wiz. And the overall value made the original steak feel like more of a hyped, boutique version of the cheesteak. It just wasn't substance-forward. But this restaurant will technically be more accessible than the carwash pop-up was, and that counts in my hemisphere. To be honest, I see myself ordering their wings more often, as a closer alternative to Wingstop. Ultimately, Jawny's is middle of the road for me. Seems it'll be passible food that I can stand to pay for some of the time. But congratulations on a place to call your own, y'all! That much, for sure, deserves a salute.

I arrived 90 minutes before match time, and the place was already more than half full. The hostess, a tall, gregarious brunette whose name I didn't learn, was friendly as could be, and showed me all the options remaining for a 2-top; and she completely left it up to me to decide. Once I picked a table, water was dropped off quickly, and our server, Alexandra, arrived for the first of many visits. She took great care of us, and always made sure we had whatever we needed. We didn't order any drinks of a fancy nature (a cosmo, a beer and a shot), but they came quickly, were properly prepared and quite generously poured. For food, we ordered what almost anyone would order in such a situation: pizza and wings. The 10" cheese pizza had a crisp crust with good-quality mozzarella that had plenty of flavor. The pizza here is far better than one normally gets in a sports bar, and shouldn't go unnoticed. Wings were also top notch: crispy on the outside, juicy as can be inside. I ordered the Parmesan-Garlic flavor, which was fairly drenched in fresh garlic and cheese, and was fantastic-tasting. It was a very nice change of pace from the usual Buffalo sauce, and fresher (read "better") than similar versions offered at other chicken wing places around the area. The crowd was great, the food was solid, the drinks were stiff, and the overall experience was about as much fun as you can have while your home team is being eliminated from the tournament 4-1. This original Rocco's remains the best of the locations, as far as I can tell, and it's comforting to have it in the neighborhood. As to Team USA: there's always 2030!
