Saw Maria's last Fall and finally had dinner there. Garlic Cheese Bread...delicious! Garlic Bread...delicious! Side Salad...basic...wish it would of had a tomato or two Pizza...delicious crust and cooked perfectly! Lasagna....very tasty but I think a little Alfredo sauce would have made it perfect Spaghetti and Meatballs...pasta cooked perfectly, sauce delicious, meatballs a little small, I should have ordered 4 or 6 but they were very good! Maria's Pizza is a Oregon fixture. It has great pizza and good pasta dishes. The pasta is good, not something you would travel across the state to get, just a good dish of pasta. But the pizza is great. Maria's is small and crowded, but worth the wait. If you are in a hurry, you can get the take out. This is not a chain. You get pizza that is made for you, not pre-made chain stuff. The decor is old school pizzeria with the map of Italy and such. But the pizza is what you go for in a pizza restaurant. It has a great sauce, plenty of cheese and a nice crust, not too thin or too thick, just right for me. read more

OMG!! Worst pizza almost ever!!!! We try so hard to like Maria's Pizza because Oregon is our home and so many people seem to like it. We ordered the "special pizza" and it was a big, gushy mess of cheese, green pepper, mushroom and onion with hardly any sauce. The crust has always been questionable to us and this last order made sure we will not be ordering from Maria's again. What kind of pizza has no sauce!?! Just yuck is all we can say. Excellent Italian restaurant! Authentic Sicilian food prepared for pickup, delivery and in-house dining. Independent restaurant that's been around for decades. Seats about 50 - 60. They make all their own sauces and hand-toss their pizza crusts. Great lasagna and spaghetti with homemade meatballs. Good salads too. They serve beers and wines in addition to soft drinks. My husband and I love Maria's Pizza! The pizza is awesome and their tortellini and meatballs are super tasty! I also love the small town "has been there for decades" ambiance in the restaurant. Highly recommend. We've had great experiences with both takeout and dining in. FYI - Their side salad is super basic, and their garlic bread just okay, but nothing is perfect. The best pizza place in Oregon. The smell of pizza when you open the door is awesome, reminds me of my child hood going to the local ma & pa pizza parlors. Limited choices on beer (Miller Lite & Bud Light) but the pitchers are cheap. The service is great. read more

To this day, I have no clue why Maria's gets anything less than 4 Stars. Granted, I've never had any meat pizzas here (just veggies and cheese). I have been eating here since I was a teenager. It is absolutely without a doubt my favorite pizza place. Even now, when I live in Milwaukee, I will drive the 90 miles back to Oregon to get this pizza. And that's not an overstatement because I literally just did that. There's just something about their pizza; I can't explain it, but it's far better than any other pizza I've had and just on a completely different level. When I was younger, Maria's would be our go-to dinner plan if nothing else was in order or if we had a guest. Delivery wait time is average, but when the pizza comes, you forget the wait. Anyone who is complaining about the lack of salad pizzazz just doesn't understand... good pizza doesn't need salad... it needs more pizza. If you want salad you can go elsewhere. But Maria's is the place to go if you want fresh, good pizza. read more

Last Friday I ordered an XL pizza - half was sausage and half veggie. The sausage half was dry, the veggie side was mushy. There was very little sauce on the whole pizza. I had also ordered a meatball sub and a sausage sub. I ate the sausage sub the next day, or at least I tried to eat it. The sausage sub had sauce on it but the sauce was so salty I couldn't eat it. Needless to say, the pizza and sausage sub ended up in the trash. I ordered once before with the same results but decided to give them another try. I won't order from them again. I've had the pizza, which is good, but mostly I got the lasagna. The preference of canned or fresh is a nice option. Personally I think fresh is better. I like that their prices were affordable, the lasagna was $6.00 I think and it came with a salad. It is kind of a bummer that they don't open til four, so you can only go there for dinner, and they are closed Mondays. read more

I order carryout from Maria's almost every week. It's a home town pizza experience that's consistently great.

We've dined-in, carried out, and had delivery many many times. The pizza so delicious, I really haven't ventured into other menu offerings more than a couple times because I like the pizza so much. The pizza is superb, the perfect balance of crisp and chewy on the crust with generous amounts of toppings. Any interactions with staff members have been friendly and pleasant. This review is for 2 dinners we had -- not for the pizza which we haven't had yet. I had the cheese tortellini without meatballs and my husband had the spaghetti with meatballs. We both opted to have the ala carte dinner salad which was priced reasonably at $1.75. However, the salad was a handful of iceberg lettuce out of a bag with a glob of salad dressing on top. The sauces for our dinners were spicy-hot, like black or red pepper -- not at all what we like nor what we'd expect for an Italian dish. No offers of grated mozzarella but a dispenser of powdered parmesan was placed on our table. We were served one baguette-type loaf which was ok but not warmed -- 10 seconds in a microwave would've made a nice difference. We each had a chianti -- small glass, a little too pricey. My husband's report on the meatballs was meh also -- I'm guessing too much filler. The sauce had a meat-base so any vegetarians beware and that warning appears on the menu. With all that, I'd say skip the dinners and go for the pizza. As mentioned, we have yet to have the pizza although we've heard they are the best. We live in Janesville and travel the distance because there is no pizza in the Janesville area that compares to Marias. Good service and only complaint I had was I always had to order extra cheese to cover the toppings but lately it seems like they have improved there cheese portions. The sauce is over the top and it seems to me that the sauce makes it or ruins it. Have sent alot of people to Marias and they all end up to be die hard fans of the pizza. Makes my mouth water thinking about it I guess I will have to make a road trip tonight. read more
