Best donuts I have found in Sacramento. Excellent selection and size, ample filling. Reasonable price.

I give this place a honest 4 stars because I have came to this place different times and different days of the week and depending on who I see who's working, the doughnuts great taste varies. I will only come here when I see a certain lady working for now on. I will get her name haha but customer service could be better also I walk in and some of the lady's give me looks and makes it very uncomfortable. But like I said it just depends but the doughnuts can be really great. The way I see it it's a hit or miss type deal. read more

I went yesterday at 5:30am. I pull up, thinking it looks sketchy, but north highlands. I walk In, say hi to the lady (i assume the owner), put my purse in the counter and she says "well, ain't that a fancy purse." A slightly snotty look on her face. if i'm going to cheat and have a bite of dairy/gluten evil goodness, this is what it should taste like. chocolate rounds, chocolate bars, maple bars, ginormous cinnamon roll, and the glazed old fashioned ALL were fresh and heaven to the taste buds. no old taste, no grease dripping from the box, and light yet still chewy. it's a good sized shop in a strip mall, down the block from Lou's, with plenty of seating. the regulars were all set up in their usual spots throwing back coffees with their white bags of treats. the cashier was helpful in deciding what to get and extremely patient with my indecisiveness. a sugar rush was had by all. read more

Visited this place today for the first time and the service was so so. I wasn't greeted when I walked in. I was very thrown off how the donuts were displayed. They weren't behind a glass or any kind of containment . They were just stacked on baking trays. Both ladies working seemed annoyed to be working. Had an attitude taking my order as well. Will not be returning. Disappointing. I will give 2 stars for the donut tho. It was tasteful just not an over all satisfaction. read more

My son sent us 2 dozen chocolate old fashion donuts while he was in Sacramento for his daughters graduation, although the donuts were a crumbled mess(no thanks to the U.S. postal service) they were as delicious as I remembered. I was stationed at McClellan AFB for 5 years and the only good thing that was in North Highlands Marie's Donuts. The crumbled old fashion were still the best Donut ever. Honestly I expected for the donuts to be the worst. Location is small and I thought they were gonna be crappy donuts. But WOW they exceeded my expectations. The donuts are fluffy and soft. My absolute must-have is the whipped cream donut, lightly covered with powdered sugar (the perfect sweet yet not too sweet)! I LOVE THESE DONUTS! As a lot of people already mentioned, it isn't in the best part of the neighborhood, but these donuts are still worth it. They're super affordable and delicious compared to other donuts shops that charge for more and doesn't even taste half as good. You can come here for classic donuts, such as glazed, old-fashioned, and creme-filled. They do have seasonal specials here and there, but don't expect crazy, out of the wall specialty, donuts. I've actually grown to like this place as it is convenient for me for work or home. I've been coming here for about a year but no more. This morning stopped in to grab coffee and donuts to start the day and when I got there a tall gentleman with gloves on was moving a fan and rugs/mats. He came to take my order and started to reach to grab the donuts when I asked about him and the gloves he did NOT change or wash his hands from the previous task. He just grabbed a sheet of paper as if that would not contaminate the donuts I was going to buy. I walked out then came back to let the lady, who normally helps me, and all they can say is sorry he should have changed his gloves. We're dealing with covid-19 right now and this guy is ok with wearing gloves to move mats and fans around and then touch food... please educate your staff on safe food handling. read more

This review is about their customers service. I walked in there today at 9:55am. Since it was my first time I was looking at the menu. I ask the lady if they have ham and cheese and she responds with an attitude "this is only a donut shop". Okay rude lady I can read the sign outside and for your information lots of donut shops sell ham and cheese. I keep looking at the menu and seconds later she ask me "are you going to buy something?" Are you fu*$#& kidding me???? What I can't look at the stupid menu to see what I want??? Talk about horrible and rude customers service. Was hoping by the reviews their product was as good as everyone said. They were not bad donuts, but I wasn't impressed. Not too much variety and not too many kid friendly flavors.
