I have been here a few times and the quality has gone down alot. The bread display has flies in it, and there are no prices anywhere. I used to order the jalapeno bread, but not anymore because of the flies This unacceptable and this place should be shut down. The worker told me the drinks were 2.75 and I was charged 3.75. I usually go to El Sol over on Magnolia st, but I was in need of pan dulce at 6am so I came here. First off the place was already crowded which is a good sign of a quality panaderia. They have a yummy variety and good prices. 3 conchas for $1.50! I got 6 conchas, three croissants and 2 quesadillas for $8. Can't beat that with a baseball bat. Small little Mexican Bakery (Panaderia). I'm giving this a 4 star because they have the best Champurrado I've had in Long Beach, but it's also the only thing I've tried at this place. I love this place, not only because i had the privilege of working here, i love it because it feels like if we are with our own family. Everything is made fresh especially the conchas(i used to get me some before putting in the display. I also love that we as costumers get the services from the owners doña eva and don noe are very humble and smart people. The food is amazing im seriously dying for a pache they are the best, the champurrado, the jugos, los elotitos, and i wish i can keep on going but you have to go to this bakery and experience the great service and food.( also i will get hungry). The first cake I ordered was delicious and moist, but when I order another one later, it was completely a different cake, nothing the same!!! Not moist, not the same white cake, I felt they gave me a cheaper quality cake and I wouldn't know the difference. I couldn't take it back for a refund, so the only 1/4 of the cake was gone . It's one of those places that whenever your in town you MUST stop in and grab a bite. I enjoy coming in, the staff is great, tamales are AMAZING!!! She was so friendly and even came out from behind the counter to point at stuff and explain what they were made of. This place is horrible!! I ordered a 24 cupcakes from them a month ago so they don't fuck up n they have time to make it right!! In my mind I was giving them time so get things done right so when the day come for me to get them I have no problem!! I went to the location two days ago to make sure they have everything done right I spoke the the guy who said he will be doing it and I explained to him how i want my kids cupcakes done!! It's was simple! I want 24 all pink cupcakes ( that means the cake mix it self and frosting pink) I also stated how I want glitter ( pink ) on them to give them a princess affect!! I even told them where they can buy the edible glitter!! ( Walmart ) or any craft store sells it!! I explained how important it is for the cupcakes to be done in time!! Sooo the day finally comes and to my luck nothing is done!! The cupcakes where cooked but the cupcakes are not pink and man who said who was going to bake them is not there!! I'm pissed off at this point!! I ask for my money back and they refused too help meee!! The lady starts yelling at me so I yell louder!! Like lady you don't want the bad side to come out of meeee!! So I went in for their Tamales and they were delicious. I got to admit the best I have tried in a long time. The mexican tamale are really good but I really liked the guatemalan tamale on top of their bolio bread. I was also able to try there hot chocolate they serve and this was great as well. Must try. This place is awesome! First and foremost I want to mention that the staff here at the bakery are always welcoming the moment you walk in with a smile and always ready to assist you. Nadia is extremely polite and well knowledgeable on the different pastries the bakery offers and much much more. They carry both Guatemalan tamales wrapped in banana leaves and Mexican tamales which are both super moist and tasty. Two of my personal favorite desserts are the chocolate cake flan and conos con crema with chocolate drizzle and cream filling so perfect in every bite. I live in Torrance and there have been days where I would take the drive just to go to Marilus to satisfy my sweet and salty cravings. It's all authentic and everything here is made fresh from home style special recipe ingredients. The baker here cooks and bakes with there heart because there food and pastries are always so yummy and it really reflects in the taste. I have to admit this has been the best bakery I've gone to in Long Beach so far. They have everything from frapps, cookies, cakes, flan, tamales, breakfast sandwiches, champurrado and so much more believe me when I say you will find something that will keep you hooked and going back for more last but not least there jalapeño and cream cheese bread mmmm so creamy and delicious.
