I am a certified Project Manager and licensed Mechanical Engineer, so I know what good project execution looks like. MKC is the best residential contractor I have worked with in my 30 years of home ownership. MKC employs a process with heavy emphasis on planning the work up front followed by quality execution by the craftsmen. Scott (owner of MKC) honestly strives to land each project with the highest quality work done at a reasonable price. My project was mainly to remodel a kitchen and master bathroom. Additionally, we removed two walls (one load bearing), replaced 1/2 the house windows, addressed two different legacy structural issues, replaced fireplace, all interior doors, all baseboard and trim, all flooring and about a dozen other upgrades (add ceiling fans, add additional door, replace garage door header, toilet in 2nd bath, etc.). Basically, I received a new house. The work was completed in a little over 4 months as planned adding time for the new scope and structural issues. The cost was as expected. MKC costs were nearly exact to expected. Material costs were higher than planned due to our selection of materials vs assumed. The quality of the work was outstanding whether it was by MKC employees or subcontractors. I highly recommend the MKC team for a kitchen or major home remodel.

Luckily the nice guys at Ace Hardware in San Rafael sent me to Rubenstein's! George looked at the fitting I brought in my first visit and ordered the part directly from the manufacturer. Brian called me yesterday to let me know the part arrived! he also reminded me they were treating their customers to tacos on Friday to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! I came and picked up my part from Sam and my delicious tacos from the two lovely ladies who catered today's lunch. They are a caterer out of Hayward, but they cater everywhere in the bay area, so here's to #Taquizas el guero! We had 2 questions , how much was it and did it come in other finishes. The "faucet guy" brought us over to the customer service counter and stated to look up the item we were interested in buying. He had just started his query when another employee walked up and "faucet guy" stopped working on our question and got into a long discussion about what he wanted. The 2nd guy left and the "faucet guy went back to his computer to answer our question. Two minutes later another employee asked him for help on her computer. "Faucet guy" stopped helping us and went over to help his coworker. After several minutes he returned to us but was again interrupted by his coworker for hep with another customer. Once again he stopped helping us and went to her assistance. Now 15 minutes had passed and we still had no answer to our questions. We finally decided to heck with it and left. "Faucet guy" was still busy helping his associate with her customer. We went home found what we wanted on line at Amazon, got it cheaper and had it show up in 24 hours. If Jackson wants to keep in business they need to teach staff to handle one customer at a time. We will never go back.
