This is about the Marina Jack 2 sunset cruise. A group of us took this two hour cruise around Sarasota Bay from 5 PM to 7 PM. We travelled South to Siesta Key before heading back North under the Ringling bridge. The ship is large with 2 decks and dinner was provided; salad, au gratin potatoes, vegetables, salmon , bread and prime rib were served. Desserts were an assortment of cakes (chocolate, key lime, and strawberry). Given how beautiful the evening turned out, the scenery was revealing- beautiful homes, unfortunately Some destroyed by Helene and Milton- some being restored. Overall, a worthwhile experience that will be repeated. Full bar offered as well. read more

We went to the outside casual part. I've never been here, so wanted to try it. Mistake. The reviews weren't great but since our condo is across the street, needed to try it. My wife's grouper sandwich was raw. Waited for another and also raw. So she sent it back and didn't eat. I ordered salmon sliders. They forgot my order? Had to wait quite awhile. Our friends received wrong order. They had to bring the correct one. The manager came and we explained the issues. His response was we have a big party inside. Not our problem! 3 of 4 orders wrong! He said what do you want me to do? He should have said I will comp your meals. Just a horrible manager. Felt bad for waitress. read more

We just spent 4 nights at the new Transient Docks, what a fantastic stay!!! Due to a front, we had to delay our planned arrival by several days, the staff was very accommodating and moved our reservation to our new requested dates. Upon approach to the marina we were quickly given our slip assignment and met at the slip by one of the dock hands, Drew. He was extremely helpful with the lines and even hooked up our shore power! The icing on the cake was when Savannah Biggert, Assistant General Manager, showed up with a bouquet of flowers and a Happy Anniversary card. I had mentioned to Savannah that we were coming down to celebrate our anniversary when we had made reservations a couple weeks before. She truly sets the bar high!! I had some difficultly initially when attempting to place reservations, but was assisted above and beyond by Savannah, the Assistant GM. Good service is always appreciated, outstanding service has become a rarity and outstanding service is exactly what Savannah provided for us. She clearly has a true talent for identifying issues and provides solutions, all while being a very pleasant person to deal with. We travel a good bit on our boat and I can say that Savannah sets the service and knowledge bar well above the norm! We will definitely be returning to Marina Jack!!! read more

Marina team was extremely delightful helping us with fuel and dockage for our three night stay. Marina accommodations are updated and clean. We loved being able to walk downtown and over the bridge to St Armand's Circle. read more

Nice waterfront restaurant. Good service. Was slow and the server in the beginning was not so attentive but the remainder of meal , he checked on us more often . Ordered a Chicken Cobb salad and I had the Mediterranean Wrap . Very good. Their signature drinks are beautifully made and picturesque. Drank them too fast before we could take a picture. Parking is a bear especially since so many businesses operate out of the marina. Best to use valet and spare the few dollars for convenience. A great luncheon spot , especially since the snow birds are pretty much gone. read more

Happy hour is great!!! $5 food and drink options. The drinks were great, food is okay. Service was good, everyone we interacted with was really kind. I wouldn't recommend the wings but the $5 salmon burgers and tacos on the HH menu were good for the price! We happen to come here during the filming of siesta keys out of the boat in the marina so that was fun. Good place to sit outside and all employees were wearing masks, well done! read more

Beware: These guys will take your money whether the A/C works on the boat or not. These the sun enters the dining area (no shades) to make matters worse. We're told we must wait for the sun to go down before things "cool down". Good luck. read more

The view outside of the marina is amazing!!! The food has gone downhill over the years and this year- it's at its worst. I mean, the nachos weren't even tasty and how can you screw that up?! Poke bowl? It made me so sad knowing that FL is best for fish and it can be this disappointing. My recommendation is to eat somewhere else and enjoy the marina outside of this restaurant. read more

We decided to eat lunch near the water. We were lucky and found parking in front of Marina Jack. They seated us at a table by the water so we enjoyed the view and the breeze. I ordered a sandwich with fries. The servers gave us plenty of time and we had a nice lunch. I finished it off with some key lime pie. This was a good lunch stop. read more

Wanted to go to a waterfront restaurant for lunch while on vacation and we came across this place. They had drink specials and really yummy tropical drinks. We decided to sit outside on the dock and it was very nice. My friend and I ordered a few appetizers to split and it came out very quick. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. We've been coming to this place for years but today we came up here for dinner and drinks and we usually spend a couple hundred dollars every time we're here but today we tried to fix our table that was rocking and put a napkin under it so would rock and the bartender had a fit about it and yelled at us. We canceled our dinner and decided not to have any more drinks and we are very dismayed with the help that is working here. I hope any bun coming here doesn't experience the same thing as we have there was four of us. read more

Great food, wine and outstanding service. The view of the Sarasota Bay is breathtaking. The wine selection is good, the food choices are better. We had the nightly specials: a filet Oscar- style and a sea bass, also Oscar-style. Both were fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Excellent dinner. read more

The restaurant was ok. Not great service but the food was good. The actual marina and mooring field leave much to be desired. The staff is very unhelpful and they appear to not give a crap about their customers. The mooring field appears to have many boats that are neglected with an almost abandoned look. The manager made us up our liability insurance by another $200k to stay, I am pretty sure half of the boats in the mooring field don't have insurance. We paid for a month and stayed two days and it was still worth it to leave. Would not recommend staying for more than a night or two. The breeze was nice in the evening but that had nothing to do with the marina and was all about Mother Nature. read more

I took my mother there we are visiting from out of town after ordering a couple entrées the server completely went ghost and did not return to the table for another 2025 minutes while I was trying to order more food and drinks I literally had to get up and look for him to finally asked for the check the manager stopped by to see what was wrong I told him and he was very rude about it and did not compensate for the miss troubles and miscommunication the restaurant had towards me and other guest I would not recommend this place at all very bad service and food but most importantly the hospitality there was way below par for such a nice view of a restaurant would not recommend this place!! read more

Love love love this place!!! The outside set up is absolutely gorgeous, overlooking the water and million dollar yachts. I came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago with my family and came back almost every day this week for lunch with a cocktail. The food is delicious however after today's encounter with the outside bartenders, it makes me contemplate ever wanting to come back. For the second time this week, we had the same nasty, un-attentive bartenders serving us. As a waitress myself, I get when it gets busy it's hard to manage all the guests at once, but when there's 2 bartenders and the restaurant is empty, I think it's ridiculous waiting 10min for a refill of beer. The man bartender became friendlier over time, yet the female bartender was rude and seemed as if she had a personal issue with me and my family before we even sat down. If it wasn't for the beautiful scenery and truly delicious food, I would NOT come back because of the terrible service provided ONCE AGAIN. Not to mention the valet driver was whole heartedly un-pleased by my $5 (voluntary) tip. (Only rated 4/5 stars because of the uncultured service provided). I leased a mooring ball for my 34 ft sail boat was on waiting list they gave me ball $315 a month with tax. CHARGED SECURITY DEPOSIT AND HALF MONTH THE NEXT MONTH $315 on card on file then for 2 months never charged my card I went in told them they looked at computer and said they would take of !! Went back end of month sold boat and I wanted to pay bill get security deposit they tried to charge me $144 more and said I was on a larger mooring ball my boat was on the same ball they gave me!!! No reaction just plain RUDE!! I wanted to call police then I explain to them I just came from cardiologist and I was in no shape for this agitation!! I believe the mans name is Hunter assistant manager FOR BEING A MANAGER HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE WITH PEOPLE A REAL STONE FACE !! I am hoping to get my security deposit in 4 weeks and never have anything to do with the marina or DOCK MASTER AT MARINA JACK!!!!! It's the only place in SARASOTA where pry can go with their boats but believe me I will never use them again and I will make sure the city moors FEILD hears about this !!! read more

We had our sailboat docked here for many years. The summer we sold it we lived onboard it while it was docked at Marina Jacks. This became our new home for 3 months while we worked on the sailboat, did repairs and necessary maintenance. The facilities were good with clean showers and other hotel-like amenities on site. read more
