This was a nice stay for a budget motel and the price. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Was nice to be able to text for extra towels or blankets and have them delivered. They are renovating, but the rooms are upgraded with a nice floor, TV, microwave, and fridge. The bed was comfortable and the heat worked well which was nice for the cold weather. It is located very close to everything in town. Would recommend if you are looking for a cheap, budget motel that is clean, inexpensive and centrally located.

We stayed here last year and it was kinda grim, but it was just after things opened (COVID) we stayed here this year and it is under new ownership. Staff very friendly and they are making upgrades to the property. Soon they plan to renovate and I'm hoping the pool will be open next year when we come again. They have pet friendly cottages and good parking. We come to Big Bear every July for The Manx Club Big Bear Bash and I will let the club know this is the place to stay! Thank you Lucy for putting up with all my questions. Thank you for having a cottage for us last minute! Looking forward to 2023

Literally the last room available in town so I grabbed it and turns out to be a pretty nice, cozy little place to stay. Clean, comfy and good customer service. I'd definitely stay here again especially for the price. Also: they have a cabin that fits 30 if you have a big ski party planned!

The sink was clogged just the first time I brushed my teeth, and remained clogged until the next day.

The room is small and no chair except 2 queen beds. The first day when I got there, I started to brush my teeth and the sink already was clogged! We contacted the office around 9PM and the answer was there will not be anybody to fix the problem until next day. When we checked out at noon the next day, there was no maintenance crew to show up for the problem! The toilet was not flushed well, we had to flush repeatedly each time we used it. The shower was small with no lights. We had to open the shower curtain each time we take a bath so we can see, as a result, the shower water would wet the toilet floor. Dumb design! The wall was so thin, and we can hear all noises from activity room below. The door lock was old and rattle each time our next room neighbor slammed their room door. Wolf Creek is no resort but it looks like cheap motel along the freeway for hookers and johns!

Then we parked and the check in area was locked so we started to panic but luckily someone came right away. The maps given for directions were poor but that was the end of the bad. The room was amazing! It was huge and beautifully decorated. They also had cute costumes in the room for you to use to dress up and take pictures. The room was very well cleaned and this is greatly appreciated, especially since the room was large and had a running water feature. Can't wait to come back and stay in another room.

Downstairs you pass a little drawbridge with a "moat" (with water!) to a dining area with long table where the kitchenette area is, replete with ice machine, Brita pitcher, sink, mini fridge, microwave, keurig and a restroom. Upstairs is the bedroom, with a gargoyle overlooking and statue of king and queen. Some of the lights and sconces are broken or missing, the knight no longer works. We were tripping out hard when I flipped the switches by the swing and the blue lights and moat began spewing water down fountain by the kitchen. This was amazing. I was literally jumping up and down when we entered the place. I am so impressed by how cool this place is, even with the things over time that have fallen into disrepair the detail overall is nothing short of impressive. Not sure how anyone can complain about something like this. The shower head has a rainfall head, the stones in the shower, to the shape of the mirror, it was all intentional. I saw nothing "icky" in selecting the specific stone-like accoutrements to complement the theme. There's a tv in the bedroom but why would you even wanna watch tv in a castle garden? COME ON! Loved the vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, flickering lights, ambiance - we put on Celtic music and enjoyed the peace away from the city. This isnt even our first day here I just couldn't wait to update my review. I happened to get his and her house slippers as one of the anniversary gifts for my bf and it worked out perfectly to grace our castle floors. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my stay and I'm going to give you the good, the bad and the between as I saw it…read more There was a lot to really enjoy but the best was the jacuzzi inside the room. It was huge and the water was always super hot and the shower was hot right when I got out of the tub. A little soap goes a very long way with bubbles, proceed with caution. The room and the spa were very clean, there was a sticker on the door with the name of the person and the date that our room was sanitized which was reassuring to me. Once inside it smelled clean and everything looked clean. I did take a bottle of Odoban and did a once over but it was during COVID paranoia. Whenever I stay anywhere I strip the bed and put on my own sheets and blanket but when tearing the bed apart our white linens were very white and clean. I read reviews about a rouge hair or two and myself having very long dark hair I find it silly that it would be a huge deal, even in the most immaculate environment one is bound to pop up, trust me, I know but I understand with COVID everyone needs to be on top of their game with cleanliness. I found the location to be really convenient, it was close to everything we wanted to do. We had several exchanges with the owner, we checked in after midnight and she was friendly and professional. Since we were both working remotely due to COVID we decided we wouod like to stay another night if they could accommodate us and she was very courteous and made the process easy and that extra night actually turned into 3 extra nights! I suppose one could find the rooms dated, I personally felt like they were cute and cozy and felt cabin like,I didn't mind the decor at all. We stayed in cabin 16, I was able to scope out 17 and has been updated recently and is more modern. They both cost the same so I would probably go with 17 it's really the best bang for your buck. Finding our cabin at night was fairly difficult if you are able to check in during the day I would definitely say do that. We eventually found our cabin, they all look the same and aren't marked terribly well. The parking is a bit tight I came straight from buying a new fairly expensive car so I had to park a few different times until I was satisfied I would avoid a door ding but that was probably new car paranoia and if you don't arrive after midnight like a dummy you'll probably have a better chance at choice parking. Once in the cabin I saw there was one of those QR codes on the wall for you to scan and when you do they offer a coupon code that can't be applied retroactively of course so I was kinda bummed by that because it only required a 3 day stay to receive the discount and we stayed over twice that long so perhaps it could have been offered. I found it online as well so before you book look online for coupon codes because they're available. I found booking straight from their website was less expensive than Expedia and the other travel sites. For the price I think this place is unbeatable. Just when you thought I was going to shut up I pop back up... I forgot to mention that one night a family checked into one of the family cabins and they were out until after 10 pm and they were loud eventually I called Cathy at the number she provides for you to call if you need anything and within 5 minutes she had sent someone to take care of the issue. I'm not sure if any of the cabins are pet friendly but I know that the one we stayed in was not and that was really the biggest issue we had. I have a 4 pound Yorkie with separation anxiety and he's grown quite accustomed to going everywhere with me so we had to hire a pet sitter and I really missed my Lil guy! I wish they allowed pets of a certain size with a deposit. Other than that I can't wait until it's time to go back. We went in the last week of April for my birthday and the weather was perfect. Not too cold but you still definitely get that mountain experience and since it's the off season everything is very affordable. Remember to look for that coupon code online and to book through their direct website and the price is unreal.
