Signing up was super easy. You just fill out a Google form online, and someone from the team will follow up with all the details. The tour itself lasts about 90 minutes. 99% of it is outdoors in the afternoon. So if it's a hot day, you'll want sunscreen and sunglasses. If you wear a hat, the required hard hat would need to fit over it. The only time we were indoors was to grab safety gear (hard hats and listening devices). Our guide, Ben, was awesome. He was really knowledgeable, approachable, and entertaining. I learned so much about what happens after you flush the toilet. Did you know the pipes your waste travels through are only have 4-6 inches in diameter? Or that they once supposedly found a bowling ball in the system? It's completely free and a great local experience for anyone living in or near Contra Costa County. Definitely recommend checking it out if you ever get the chance!

The spot I found was dangerous and cars were whizzing by. I jumped onto a drain pipe, afraid to get into my car, and waited for help. FORTUNATELY a CHP officer arrived, and calmed the situation, friendly, courteous, and professional, then asked whether he wanted me to stay. He handled the whole situation, perfectly, even helping the tow truck get away safely, etc. This officer and office needs to be commended, for sure. I was so thankful (despite feelings about that pothole that has been there for awhile). The officer said he would report that to get it fixed! Very satisfied with the officer. 5+ stars.

This after they had sent it to a collection agency and I had been forced to pay it. (See other Yelper who, like me, had received a collections notice WITHOUT a prior bill.) I received a bill two years ago, called Fire department billing office explaining ambulance had refused to take me to John Muir, (in our county and the only hospital on my insurance) and was assured it would be taken care of. Then suddenly a collections agency contacted me. But thankfully, we have Yelp where us patients can finally be heard. Thank you, Yelp! PS I will modify or remove my reviews WHEN the CCC Fire Department changes their unfair and illegal billing practices.

It's been updated in regard to technology, but the study tables, etc. remain the same. Online access to the library and peripheral resources is excellent! The computer lab and the classroom at the far end of the library are nice and new and set up to promote a positive learning environment. You can also get a DVC Connect Card at the circulation desk if you don't want to go to the Student Life Office. The students who staff the library are nice and helpful.

This library is strange…read more I have a like/ hate relationship with it. I like the copy machine and the printers, which saved me enough times as a student. The staples are free and all you have to do is load your card up with monies and you can use them any time you need. I hate being brought here for class "field trips" because beyond forced here for them, I never once used this library for any sort of research. Thats what the internet's is for. Duh. I like they wanted to teach us how to use the online site to look up information, because coming through those security doorways always hurt my ears so I never got into falling asleep here like others. I hate that there are no liquids allowed in here. I always had to hide my hot chocolate when making copies. And you ain't really lived until you've spilled hot chocolate in a library. I like that I never have to come here again... no wait... love. I love that I never have to come here again.
