So at 35 I've finally decided it's time to get rid of 98% of my mid-market tee's, (Patagonia, Vissla, Billabong, etc). I keep some of them for housework and stuff. At this point in my life I can start to afford quality over quantity. At $33 for each casual tee (3) for $100 at time of sale, I feel like I'm getting a great balance of each of the above criteria. The tees are comfortable and well built. I have a shorter torso but broad shoulders and and they have this size called Marge that fits me better than any clothing brand I've experienced. At around $70 for pants / short and $85 for button ups I think I'll give their other products a shot as well. read more

I've seen this little clothing shop but never had the desire to go in. I wasn't sure what type of clothing they sold or their price point. They are located right across La Colombe coffee house. The girls working today were so nice. Seville was the one who helped me. She showed me the sale rack where I found a cool light weight crop top for $35. I also tried on a few other items but ended up just buying the shirt. I would compare their clothing to Madewell and/or JCrew. Prices are similar as well. Paying was easy as receipts are emailed. My God, the folks here are ALWAYS so nice. No hesitation whatsoever in offering a dressing room, or to see if something's in stock online, or just to check up on how you're doing. As this is a COVID review, very unfortunately I have to say that every time I pass by Marine Layer in UTC they're never open, which makes me afraid that they're closing the location, but I honestly understand since the store is a teeny little one & it's just not safe for their sales associates at the moment. The clothing quality: Really cannot beat what they offer here. When they say that their clothing is soft, it not only is soft, but remains soft after repeated washes and wears. Their double knit henleys get worn as pajamas, washed HOT and thrown in the dryer and they're still as soft as the day I bought them; their dresses and t-shirts haven't shrunk or pilled and are also still as soft as the day I bought them. I really can't stress how impressed I am with Marine Layer's quality. The fabrics are thick and cottony, usually higher quality versions of common synthetics, and luxuriously thick. The customer service: Marine Layer has one of the best return policies I've ever seen, hands down-- I believe it's up to a year and even if washed, which honestly says a lot about their confidence in their product. It's no Nordstrom's or AE, who have unlimited return timeframes, but honestly probably for the best as Marine Layer isn't backed by a gigantic corporation. (And this is just speaking for myself, but I haven't gotten any reasons to return their products, so I would never take advantage of their generous return policy anyhow!) Speaking for the UTC location specifically, one of the managers honestly is just the most gracious person. There are many instances where I've seen her kindness and friendliness towards not only myself but other customers. I just wish I could remember her name! Snickers and I stumbled across this store while exploring the newer side of the recently remodeled UTC mall. Think SOFT, Travel-Friendly, & relatively neutral hues for lazy weekend days and for when you want to unwind after work. I tried on different selections, but in the end I opted for the gray knit short-sleeve gray sweatshirt dress with their marbled flax cardigan, beautiful when worn together or separately. This will be my go-to store the next time I have to be on a long international flight & want to pack minimally. Their pieces are so versatile that you can dress them up & down with the right accessories. The best part is their cozy quality & stylish comfort. Another win for yet another dog-loving establishment! I am not kidding when I say we pup owners don't WANT to go anywhere without our other halves, LOL. Snickers played with their dog toy and made herself perfectly at home while I did my girly browsing. Really appreciated the wonderful customer experience and the ladies who helped me (as well as Snickers' social and play time with the dog Charlie!) We will definitely be visiting again. The vibe is unpretentious and free-ing, just like their clothes. read more

So I just got home from work to find my partner visibly sad and hurt (from 10am until 7:30pm) by the way he was treated by CHRIS, who I find out is also the store MANAGER!!! My partner is honestly the sweetest, kindest and most positive being that I've ever met in my entire life who has never spoken bad or negative about anyone...ever! In fact, he will find the good in every situation including this one by saying, "I'm sure he's just having a bad day". He came in to return a jacket that was 50% off at another retailer. When the kind female employee informed him that they do price match, he thanked her for that information e aide hhowever still wanted to return it because he already wore the other. She did ask if he'd mind telling her which retailer had the sale, he informed her that it was Nordstrom when all of a sudden the store manager Chris says, "oh fine, support the corporate retailers". My partner then informed Chris, the store manager, that he had purchased 2 other items that he is keeping. I almost fell over when Chris, "the store manager" then stated, "FOR NOW". I am in complete disbelief of his comments to a long time customer and I'm front of his employee!!! My partner shops here ALL THE TIME but as of tomorrow, WE will be returning the other 2 items as I confront Chris, who in my eyes is a BULLY! read more

Popped in to see what was new and show a friend the store as well. Met Sarah who is part time and so engaging! She expressed an interests in getting to know us and also shared some fun statistics about the brand, love the 5 cotton tees for a $25 discount on a purchase! Absolutely loved hearing about the respun/recycled racks and how they are made in Spain. I picked out a super soft quilted jacket and she suggested I get it in two colors since I raved about it so much, so I did! We'll both be back to visit again and shop with Sarah! read more

My girlfriend took me here because I need some new clothes that don't have surfboard resin on them and burrito grease... I hate the mall, nothing ever fits me right, all clothing seems like they come in extra large or extra small...never a medium available. And I just want some normal clothes that fit right ... nothing with glittery skulls, no tap out gear, no yeezy boots, no giant stupid logos. Thank god for this place, Really cool vibe here, and the clothes are so comfy, they have so many sizes that actually fit, and they're clean timeless style to them and really nice patterns. Better yet they recycled all my old crappy tees. And they like dogs! There was a cuddly little guy there who looked super happy. The people working there looked stoked to be there which you wouldn't see if you went to the GAP. When one of my shirts from here shrunk up mysteriously they exchanged it with no hassles. This place is awesome everyone is friendly and helpful I just wish it wasn't located in a mall. read more
