Love Marinos! We have been ordering their pizza for a few years now, as it's definitely one of the best. Just a plain cheese is perfect! We recently Started trying out their pastas and we love them! I am shocked at how mediocre the pizza is. The pizza is salt with flavorless bread, rubbery cheese, and sauce that makes any store-bought jar a welcome alternative. Came here last friday night for a late night dinner. We ordered a medium pizza half pepperoni and half pineapple with garlic rolls. The rolls were good nice and warm with just enough garlic. The pizza had a good taste but was a little to thin for my preference. We also shared a cannoli and we weren't to satisfied, it had a weird taste something was off on the custard. So, my family has been coming to this pizzeria since they opened. Yes, when the shopping center looked completely different and they were located across the parking lot. The pizza is stellar! Always has been and always will be my dad's favorite in town. We went after the remodel, and they did a wonderful job with the place. West Kendall needed a nice little neighborhood restaurant with a wine bar and some TVs, so kudos. I will say that Marino's faces some stiff competition on the classic Italian dishes, so my only recommendation would be to increase the portion sizes on the main dishes. My mom ordered the Branzino and loved the flavors, but didn't love the portion. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana and it was small, but delicious. My wife ordered the chicken Marsala and found it to be a good size portion, even enough to ask for a box. As far as the service, they seemed a little understaffed for a Wednesday, but it wasn't terrible. Fix the portion sizes and this restaurant will continue to fill the stomachs and hearts of West Kendall for decades to come. read more

By far one of the most amazing dinners and experiences I've ever had. Our waiter was attentive and entertaining. He told us what was good and not so good on the menu which I greatly appreciate when eating at a new place. We ordered the seafood appetizer (shrimp Parmesan, muscles, and calamari and garlic rolls which were all fantastic. I also got a minestrone soup which was absolutely delicious! For dinner we ordered the lasagna, eggplant Parmesan, carbonara, and tortellini. Not one thing disappointed. Everything exceeded my expectations. Including the Cheesecake and Zeppole. Well I placed an order yesterday 4/10/21 and they got the order wrong and realized it when I got home. I contacted Marino's and explained what happened they said they would give me a credit . At first I was skeptical but when I called today and spoke to them about my credit they did the right thing and gave me the full credit . Service was good but they were very slow. Several larger parties that came after me got their Pizza first. They told me it was because I ordered a Hawaiian Pizza. Let me begin this review by saying that the rest of my families meals were fine.  However I wish I could say the same for my meal.   I can tolerate a lot of restaurant mishaps but there us one thing I cannot- raw food especially chicken.   Here's a a hot tip for the chef, deep frying doesn't always equal properly cooked.   When you make chicken parm it is really important that the meat is well tenderize ( so that it is thinned out significantly) if not it will not cook evenly and you will end up with the some parts of the chicken undercooked.  Yes, I returned the plate, they offered something else, but I declined because after tasting raw chicken, well I'll leave you to conclude.  Of course they took it off the bill.  Even more bothersome than the raw chicken was that the manager or the owner didn't have the gonadic fortitude to come to our table to apologize for serving raw chicken, it's a local place so perhaps the owner maybe.   It's unfortunate because where I would have likely returned, though never eating chicken there again, lack of attention to a customer's complaint has put me off completely from Marinos otherwise a fine pizza place but nothing than a pizza place ever. read more

What horrible customer service. An employee there just cussed at me. He said his name was Pedro. I asked how much it was for 2 topping on half a pizza. He said it would be considered 1 topping which was $2, unless it was something like shrimp and bacon. I asked about ham and pineapple. He said 5 dollars. I was surprised at the price and said Holly $h!t that's a lot of money for that. He said if I didn't like it I could buy it myself and put it on. Then he hung up on me. I remember this place as a kid, so we decided to give it a try. It was a HUGE mistake. We ordered a large pizza and fried calamari. The pizza was not good, not even the kids liked it... But the horror was the calamari, they looked like sun baked rubber and smelled! It was the worst food we've ever seen! Worst part about all this was the response by the "manager". Marino's pizza is just - meh. I came here with my 2 year old nephew and 6 year old niece, my dad and sister. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which isn't bad at all because other people were waiting there longer. But, there's not really any place to wait to be seated other then outside. So once we were seated, we learned that the high chair does not have a strap to keep a toddler seated. Needless to say, that made the night incredibly painful. Secondly, the garlic rolls (as well as the rest of the food) took so long to come out that the kids started getting cranky. When it finally did come out, the cheese pizza tasted weird and bland. I have had the pizza here before, and I don't remember it tasting like that. The baked ziti was much better then the pizza - I would recommend that as a meal to be safe. Once we finished our meal, the whole paying process took so long because our waitress was almost never around. To make matters worse, we would see people who came after us being served before us. As you know, any minute spent with crying children seems like an eternity. So with mediocre food and slow service, it's not the best place to eat but it is very family-friendly. read more

This pizza is terrible. We waited about 30 minutes for a Marino's Original pizza which was cold, had canned mushrooms, and very watery red sauce which made it soggy. Their beer selection is also very poor. I will never understand the great reviews this place gets, there has to be a way better pizza place in Kendall. With the quality of Pizza in Miami, I'm not THAT surprised that there are good reviews for this place ... and maybe 10 years ago their pizza was better than most in the Kendall area, but now there are more and much better choices. I've known about this place for about 15 years or more and I think I've tried most things on their menu. The food is definitely not bad, and some of it can be quite good if you are in the mood - the big problem is that pretty much every time I eat something from here my stomach is upset the next day - I'm not 100% sure what it is but I suspect its just too oily. The pizza is the kind that tries to be like NYC style but doesn't quite get there. It has that soft, doughy crust that stands up to the large amounts of cheese and other toppings they will add. Their Calzone is one of the best menu items - the only problem is that I really dislike their gravy (marinara) which comes with it - its way too oily and acidic. The one standout excellent item here are their Garlic Rolls - they are soft, almost gooey balls of their pizza dough that are literally doused in fresh garlic and olive oil and sprinkled with a bit of parmesan and parsley (these would be out of this world if they used a better/extra virgin olive oil). You can also order them plain (if you're planning on kissing someone in the next 24 hours who isn't into garlic breath) and they are also fantastic plain - really fantastic - enough to order extra and use them for sandwiches the next day. They do a pretty damn good Fettucini Alfredo. Their Meatballs are also fairly good and the Meatball Parm Sandwich as well as the Chicken Parm Sandwich are solid choices. I like to order a side of Meatballs and their rolls, add my own fresh mozzarella and make little Meatball Sliders - they should add these to their menu - they are great. Anything that has too much of their marinara is just not so good - and the only way to save it is adding tons of parmesan cheese to cut the acidity down - the only thing that I have ever enjoyed here that uses it (besides the meatball and chicken parm sandwiches - they thankfully go lightly on it there) is their Stuffed Shells - its a comfort food for me ... and again I'll pretty much eat anything stuffed with ricotta. Their Gnocchi is leaden - don't even bother. The Lasagna is just boring and again suffers from the marinara. Their Francese is pretty decent, their version of Marsala is just weird, Eggplant Parmesan is the only of the Parmesans that is worth getting - and its very hit-or-miss here - sometimes its almost great - light and crispy and fresh tasting and sometimes its mushy and tastes like the fryer. Fried Calamari is good only if you are eating there (and really who would want to do that, but more on that in a moment ...) - when delivered it suffers the fate of most fried foods of becoming a soggy mess. All pastas and entrees come with a choice of salad or soup and the garlic rolls (though you're going to want to order extra - because that IS the reason to eat here). You can get a house salad or a caesar - but really stay away from them - the lettuce is almost always brown around the edges. The house is the better of the two - its romaine, raw white onions, two tomato wedges (which are actually usually nice and ripe) and a bunch of black olives. Their dressings leave much to be desired - the house vinaigrette isn't bad but is boring and the caesar is a very very bad creamy, or should I say gelatinous, version. They also have two soup choices - Minestrone and Pasta Fagioli. Get the Pasta Fagioli - on a good day, its thick and especially tasty sopped up by the garlic rolls. On a bad day, its thin and seems like they forgot the salt and half of the ingredients (in amount) but its still the best thing to dip their garlic rolls in. Their desserts are nothing special - they are all edible and hit the spot when you need something sweet but honestly they're not good enough to justify all of the calories. To sum it up - its fairly decent food if you're in the area and need your dinner delivered. Stick to the good stuff - savor the rolls and you'll be ok. Its overpriced for what it is - but they do give you very big portions that can easily be shared by two. The atmosphere of the restaurant is standard Pizza Joint - too bright and nothing special. I have only dined in once and I do have to say that my server was excellent though and the place was almost empty, which was nice ... Basically my family orders from here A LOT, and I end up eating their food way more than I actually want to - though I did find myself craving their garlic rolls a few times when I wasn't living in Miami. read more

Marino's Pizza are the worst excuse for a piece of crap restaurant! I called and placed an order for 2 dishes. They delivered one. When I called, the dude who took my order answered. I explained to him that I ordered a bowl of spaghetti and a salad but only got the spaghetti. He fought with me saying I didn't order the salad. I said "No, I told you I wanted a small garden salad and specifically said I wanted lemon dressing on the side." His argument, "well I didn't charge you for he salad." I got food delivered from here, a week ago, all was good but one thing, i asked for Coke Zero, and confirmed 3 times if they have it. The answer was YES. Finally when the delivery arrived Surprise No Coke Zero, asked why, replied we ran out of it, asked i will not enjoy my food with out it , take the food back, he laugh on loud and laugh and laugh then --- saying sorry i don't have it. Sorry is not enough for me i spent $71 on food, and yes i don't eat food with Zero! Hey it's me.
