Busy place on a Saturday early evening. Even though busy, we still received our food in a reasonable amount of time. Food was good.

I am a Mario The Baker's fan from way way back. First of all, you must have the garlic rolls! All of their Italian dishes are very cheesy and very satisfying. The place is not fancy. Always enjoy visiting this place at least once or twice when I am in the Wellington area. Pizza and Pasta are truly delicious. Make sure you get yourself an order of the fresh garlic rolls; they are truly to die for. Top it all off with an ice cold pepsi and I'm truly in heaven; can't believe I am still in Florida. Owners are from CT, which is probably why the Pizza is so damn good. Even when my friend moves to Boca, I am still going to make the trip over to Wellington to enjoy this place. I called and asked for a manager I got a VERY UNINTERESTED NINA when I asked if she was really the manager because she seemed so disinterested- she told Me I AM MARIOS DAUGHTER AND YOIR RUDE!!! I asked how am I rude ? She stated: you said my garlic rolls were deformed !!! I ordered takeout tonight. Awesome decision. New to this restaurant and happy pizza well done with broccoli rabe and sausage. Amazing lots of toppings and tasty broccoli rabe cooked with a little bit of red pepper and thin sliced golden garlic. The sausage was crumpled with fennel. True Italian cooking. Perfect slice which I have not seen since up North. We also had eggplant parm. The eggplant was thin sliced and perfectly cooked. Not bitter. Lots of melted cheese. The service was friendly. We were greeted right away with a smile and asked to seat ourselves wherever we would like. The server came quickly for our drink orders and took our food order upon return. She did all of this with a friendly attitude and smile. The place is open and family friendly. Everything was very clean. Unfortunately all of the stars are for those reasons as we found the pizza to be salty and the toppings seemed over processed instead of fresh. We got their version of the meat lovers. We may return to try their subs after a movie next door, but I doubt we get another pizza. read more

Haven't been here in years and someone told me to try it again so we did ordered a large pie with pepperoni and mushrooms, as well as the chicken Francese. The pizza was ok ... a little too sweet and saucy for me and the limp dough in the pie's center fell apart with the tips of the slice breaking off! The chicken Francese was not good, sauce was gummy and lack flavor, spaghetti overcooked and broke apart. Their garlic knots were probably the best, but even those could have used some more garlic imo. read more

I loved this place! We ordered a regular pizza (I often try their original because you can often tell if the place has quality food if their original is good) and it was fantastic! They had the South Florida Garlic Fest in Lake Worth last weekend. The real deal, the truly authentic Garlic Fest for our small group was actually this afternoon at the absolutely lovely and the original Mario the Baker. I love Italian food! I love garlic!!! I loved the warm welcome I got from the manager Kevin and from all the waitresses when I entered. I told Kevin that this NYer had been searching for some good Italian food in this area for the last 28 months. His response" Ray, your search has ended." He was spot on. Loved, loved, did I mention loved the " wet" (as in doused in extra butter and extra garlic) garlic rolls that were just beautiful. I may have been humming some Pavarotti and Zucchero after every beautiful bite. Loved my Eggplant Parm hero with extra sauce and but of course, extra garlic in the sauce. The breading was very light and the hero, the cheese, the sauce and the delicious eggplant came together magnificently. Huge sandwich and I just got through half of it. The sauce was great and real, not from a can. It had the right seasoning and was perfect with the hero. We got the antipasto platter for the table with some cold cuts, cheese, lettuce, peppers and olives with Italian dressing. Pretty good and fresh!!! We also ordered 2 medium broccoli and veggie & bacon n onion pizzas as in personal pizzas. They were pretty big. Tasty and done just right. Really tasty Italian food served with a lot of love by our very cool and proactive waitress Patty. Loved our lunch, loved our waitress. Loved that we got to sit for almost 3 hours and have some fun conversations without any pressure to vacate as the restaurant did get busy after 1 pm. In fact kudos to Patty for repeatedly checking up on us for refills even after we had settled the check and were just shooting the breeze. I got some garlic rolls to go and she was very kind and included some extra garlic and butter with them. Very cool and very classy!!! Loved hanging out with and getting to know some really, really awesome people - Adriana, Betsey, Krista, Melodie, Patricio and our guest of honor and the main man Adrian who just turned a year old on February 5th. Lovely and perfect afternoon!! Big parking lot with loads of spaces by this free standing building/restaurant. My search for a great, authentic, local Italian restaurant has ended. Growing up I was a fan of Mario's in Sunrise. I was so excited to see that they were in Royal Palm Beach. It was well worth the hour drive from our vacation rental. The garlic rolls are worth the drive themselves. The baked ziti was wonderful, just as I remembered. it's hard to imagine but we can't find anything close to their food anywhere else. And the service was excellent. Two hardworking servers did an outstanding job with a busy dining room. Just trying to figure out how we can fit another visit in before our trip home! read more

Usually a very busy place during prime times. The servers do the best they can with the crowds. The servers are why this place gets 4 and not 3 stars from me. The food is good, if not typical pizza joint fair. Portions are generous. Beer and wine are available. There is also an out-door seating area in the back. When crowded this place is LOUD! My family has been to this location many times and you never know what you're gonna get! One day is good, next time it's horrible! This past visit on Thursday made my husband & I very sick. The chicken had a sour smell, but we ate it anyway thinking they would not give us bad chicken! Well, when we got home we both felt ill and up chucked. Today our stomachs are not right with bad bad gas smell. We always say, never again, but this time it's really NEVER AGAIN! This was my favorite pizza restaurant until recently. When I picked up my 2 large cheese pizzas for $40 I noticed the crust appeared very thin. The crust is super thin crust. Most of the food here is consistently good. Pizza's are the best I've had out NYC and prob best thing on the menu. The veal parm is delicious. The meatball sub is flavorless. Garlic rolls are yummy and addictive! Staff members are always nice. Minus one star because none of the staff preparing the food has been wearing gloves the times I went in. Also many aren't wearing facemasks just face shields, which makes me super uncomfortable. Also minus another start because they pack customers in the seating area with no social distancing going on at all. The seated customers remaining maskless the minute they sit down to the minute they leave. I'm prob going to avoid eating here, even take out, until they show more care by putting more effort into protecting their customers. read more

Mario baker is neat little gem. The pizza is really good but not like anything too special. The entrees were good and the garlic rolls are really good if u like garlic. Otherwise the ambiance is like your typical big box restaurant and the staff friendly enough. New to the area and tried them. They don't deliver and when I asked for sautéed broccoli or spinach as a side dish the guy said we don't do that stuff sounding almost annoyed, that I would even ask. The food was inedible. I ordered the eggplant parm dinner and it was so old and dried out that the breading didn't even stay on the eggplant. The sauce was non existent and there was very little cheese. I threw it out. Next the meatballs, no flavor and the texture was rubbery. My husband said his veal parm sandwich was terrible also.
