They use a third party, Order It On, to process online orders. Food was good, identity theft wasn't. They need a better online system that doesn't steal your account info. This is our second and I'm afraid to say last visit to Mario's. While the food was delicious the first time around the food served tonight was doused with a disproportionate amount of salt and garlic. Moreover and a bit more concerning the dishes were dirty and the appetizers took 45 minutes to be delivered. I think the problem lies with the fact that on a weekend night this is a takeout and delivery restaurant. Food is great but it is a shame how the employees treat their customers. I spoke with a man who was rude and doesn't care about the customer. We were charge a delivery fee for four different orders who were going to the same place. After asking the representative why we were being charged he stated he knew all the orders were going to the same place but if we wanted to not be charged for delivery we had to put all of our orders on the same ticket. He basically put the blame on us for ordering separately to the same address. After asking him what he was going to do to rectify the situation, he stated that we should order on the same ticket next time. He was very rude and condescending. If I could give no starts I would. The nastiest thing that ever saw in my life was the guy that makes the pizza is the same guy that will handle your money. Handle money and food at the same time it's not what I expect when I go to a restaurant. Also after baking the pizza, the other guy trowed an empty pizza screen ON THE FLOOR. I used to order delivery from there prior COVID. Stayed in the days inn and they had a pamphlet. I have tried the stuff raviolis- to the chicken parm sub -spaghetti meat sauce and even created my own spinach roll. There food has never disappointed me and my husband. They do not honor their coupons. I used the 23.99 family meal coupon off their takeout menu and was over charged. Sales tax in Nj is 6.68% thats $1.61 in my book. I was charged $ 28.61And they also charge a $1.10 convenient fee. Didn't realize until i was on the road already. I get times are hard ....but really !!! I've been ordering from Mario's for about 8 years. Over the past 2 years, I've been ordering close to once a week, each order is upwards of $30-50. Always pleased with the food and service up until this past Saturday, 6/3. While biting into a slice of BBQ chicken pizza, I felt something hard. Thinking it was cartilage from the chicken, I spit out the mouthful to surprisingly find a strand of metal. Very disturbing but thankful I did not swallow it. I called Mario's to inform them of the incident and the man on the phone didn't seem shocked nor concerned. He went on to say how he suspected it came from the wire brush they use to clean the ovens. First, this was not a thin piece of metal from a brush, it was much thicker. Second, if that is the immediate reaction, has this happened before?! He then wanted to know what I wanted them to do about it. I shouldn't be the one to come up with the solution. I told him I'd like to be refunded. He refused and said they cannot do that but will send me another pizza instead. The conversation was uncomfortable and was going no where so there was no point in arguing. He wanted to see the strand of metal so he sent the delivery guy back over to the my house to pick it up the strand of metal and deliver an additional pizza. At that point I was disgusted, so sure, come get it. I'm sorry I even called. I will not order from there again. The customer service drove me away in a time when it is most critical. The situation should have and could have been handled in a much more customer-centric manner. A customer in this situation does not want to hear their concerns being deflected and the employee trying to identify the source of the foreign object. No one cares where the strand of metal came from, they only care that it was in their food and could have been ingested. You could have retained a customer and avoided this review but you are getting what you deserve. read more

I waited to see if he would wash his hands at the sink next to him before touching my slice, but he didn't.
