Used to love this place but been disappointed the last two times we ordered. Tonight we ordered a pizza with one half having toppings and the other half fresh mozzarella. When the pizza arrived the mozzarella had slide off the side that was supposed to be just cheese onto the other half and the was barely any sauce on the pizza at all. Pizza gets 4 stars. Water policy gets negative stars. Apparently it is the policy of all Mario's pizza to not allow their "valued customers" access to the free and delicious agua that flows from the soft drink machine. Instead, customers are nickeled and dimed and required to purchase bottled water or a soft drink. Hey, we don't want your bottled water. The policy makes absolutely no sense which is why no other restaurant that I am aware of does this. The water issue has been derided numerous times on various review websites. Unfortunately, the owner lacks a sense of customer service and business acumen and this ridiculous policy continues on. I encourage all patrons to view this as a sign of disrespect and boycott this business until water cups are provided. read more

I truly don't want to spend much of my time writing this review, but here ya go. Greensboro is the 3rd largest city in the state with many pizza joints to chose from. With that in mind, Marios is well known in the area with several locations...pizza slices are huge so no complaints there....However, this location in the Palladium Shopping Center is rather boring for me....and their draft beer is way overpriced too.....walk across the parking lot to HAMS or Buffalo Wild Wings (both in the shopping center) to get more variety and beer specials too.... bottom line: Boring location. read more

I can't say how many times I've been to Mario's now. When I lived in NJ, my son and I started our "Pizza Fridays" and we brought it here with us. We initially started going to the Wendover location until we realized the one on Samet was owned by the same people. FYI...although farther away from where we live, I prefer the Wendover location based solely on the parking situation. There aren't as many restaurants in that shopping center so the parking is ample, while this location has restaurants and movie theatre parking one must deal with and I often find myself driving around and around for parking. Coming from NYC area, I grew up on slices of pizza where one slice was a meal in itself and with a soda and you were full. Commercial chain pizza just isn't nearly as good and the slices aren't big enough. One slice from this place is plenty unless you are starving. I have eaten two but felt as if someone should roll me out of the place afterward. read more

Perfectly average. Nothing to write home about. Wouldn't go back. Food was either over cooked or under cooked, bland or too highly spiced. I was horrified at my experience at Mario's on S. Tryon St. The help was all young folks who were rude and indifferent. There did not appear to be any manager there. No one cared. Took my order..said 10 mi utes....then the cashier goes and starts shaping pizza dough without washing her hands or putting gloves on. All other workers had gloves on. After more than 10 minutes I go to counter to check on my order..I am told rudely 6 more minutes. I stand there...and some young guy comes to counter like..what do you need...I tell him and he goes back to pizza making..another worker comes and asks me what I need politely and the other man whispers to him like to go away...I see my order come out finally..they are ignoring me..I said..please give me my order and the nice person did..hostile...rude...inconsiderate..I will NEVER go there again...I do not deserve to be treated this way. read more

I placed an order for delivery through Uber Eats and was extremely let down with my first Mario's experience. I ordered a NY style pizza and garlic knots and both were mediocre. The pizza arrived smashed into a too small box, which caused the edges to fold over and the cheese to slide to one side. Though the outer crust was crispy and cooked well, the center of the pizza was undercooked, soggy and unappetizing. I was optimistic that the garlic knots would redeem Mario's as they smelled amazing, but they were just bland and greasy. Altogether a disappointing experience. read more

Great new location! This feels like a step up from the standard pizza place ~ beautiful interior, great beer on tap and good wine selections. My husband ordered the calzone and gave it rave reviews. I ordered a slice of pizza with 3 veggie toppings. It appeared that they took a piece of cooked cheese pizza and added the toppings afterward. It wasn't very cohesive (the toppings kept falling off) and it was a bit bland. There was minimal sauce. Next time I'll probably ask for additional sauce on the side. Mario's is consistently delicious pizza and subs. We eat here once a week before seeing a movie. I don't know anywhere else that you can get this good of a sub. They'll make it any way you want -- always on delicious bread. The pizza is also the best around, and the single slices are enormous. Onion rings are perfect every time. It's just great food, great friendly service and very clean inviting restaurant. They always have the big games on (silently) on the TVs. read more

The issue here is they have recently jacked up the prices on the lunch specials so much, that I feel i have been priced out. My family ate here at Mario's one night after a movie. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza with wings. The wings were pretty good but the pizza was just bad. It tasted like bowling alley pizza with no flavor and a cardboard crust. I asked everybody in my family what they thought of the pizza (without sharing my opinion first) and their assessment was the same as mine. Even my son who is in college and could eat pizza for every meal said he thought it was bland and the crust left a bad taste in his mouth. The staff was very professional and the atmosphere was nice. I went for dinner on June 7th and must I say that was the best pizza I've had in a while! and all of the staff were very helpful and very sweet! the pizza was almost perfectly made and the cashier makes sure your order is correct before they start making the food!!! very good experience you'll defiantly see me again!! love the energy and the scenery of the place! the only thing I'm disappointed in, is how long it took the pizza to be done. 20 minutes!!!!!! I ordered 2 small pizza's and a sub online....and it was supposed to be ready in a half hour.....well, I waited an EXTRA half hour sitting there while the workers looked bored. There was NO big rush, and it wasn't busy at all.. The "chef" cooking the pizza's pretty much laughed at me when I picked up my order. I'd say that if it takes an hour to cook a pizza, and he laughs about it, then YOU have a problem. VERY sad. They didn't give a crap.....and you know what......neither do I......just take my business to others. I'm very disappointed with this location. It's too bad this Mario's location doesn't hold up. Update 6:18PM 1/6/2017. I gave Mario's Pizza at Palladium another try. Slice of pizza, a side salad, AND a plastic cup which I could fill with tap water for "free" from the soda machine. Salad was fresh and not just a cup of lettuce; it came with cheese, tomato, cucumber, onion, pepper, and a choice of several salad dressings. Actually better than I expected. Although the slice was slightly overcooked on the bottom it was not enough so for me to send it back. A very generous slice at that and tasted like a good slice of pizza should. Kacey who rang up my order was very courteous and personable but what really impressed me about her was that as I was eating I looked up and saw her sneeze. Not in her hand and not in open air but instead down and under her arm where it wouldn't contaminate anything. Then she immediately used a disinfectant pump on her hands. Kudos to her for doing that and even more so because she wasn't aware anyone noticed. I'm always impressed with someone who truly understands sound sanitation practices especially in a restaurant environment. I recommend Mario's Pizza at Palladium and I will be going back again soon! read more
