    17" Pizza
    Will R.

Solid pizza and good tasting pizza. It's a huge NY slice, but a bit thicker than usual NY slices. Very clean restaurant. I appreciate that you can buy by the slices and not have to get a whole pizza, (especially at about $3.50 for a giant slice of cheese pizza is great alone). I also appreciate the topping options they have, though I wish the jalapeños weren't so thick and not pickled, which was pretty overpowering and had to pick a lot off! Aside from pizza there is a huge variety of options on their menu from strombolis, subs, salads, pastas etc. A lot of appetizers as well, though I have to note the pricey wings (6 for $11 or 12 for $19!). Overall good restaurant, I like the variety. Doesn't feel like a chain though there's plenty of Mario's around. Would recommend.

    Chicken Parmigiana Sub
    Mikaela B.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on my hour break because I really just couldn't decide what I wanted. Solid enough menu with plentiful choices. The lady behind the counter was nice enough, but nothing really noteworthy. I decided on a chicken parmigiana sub. The cashier informed me that they had a special with the sub, one side and a drink. I think it was $12 or $13. Pretty good deal for the size. I loved that they had interesting options for the side such as mozzarella sticks or garlic knots. I decided on the garlic knots and these were pretty disappointing. They were just cooked a little too long and really lacking in flavor. The chicken parmigiana sub was a solid portion, even for the small. It was hearty and I really liked the chicken, but I felt like it was lacking in flavor a little bit as well. Maybe it was the sauce but I just feel like it could've used some spice - even fresh basil would've been a nice touch. The meatballs nor the sauce really had a ton of flavor unfortunately. Overall it was fine but it could've been better. Standard pizzeria with pizza, sub and pasta options. It's not somewhere I'd return regularly but I might throw it into the lunch rotation every once and a while.

Huge one topping 19 inch pizza

When you are out and about and you realize you still have to feed a crowd back at the house this is the way to go. I called in and asked about any special they had and the 19 inch one topping pizza with garlic knots was recommended. Let me tell you, it was hard to not break into this pie on the drive home. Good thing I put it in the back seat. They did not skimp. It barely fit in the box! Actually it didn't fit. Mario's is right on time even in this busy season. You need to give them a try.

    The Worx Pizza

Decent pizza. They use quality toppings and don't skimp on cheese. It might look a little strange but that's due to some slippage from its journey via DoorDash. The tiramisu was cheap, but so was it's flavor, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

After eating here multiple times I can say the food here is consistent. I recommend both the pizza and subs. The cheesesteak was good and make sure and try the seasoned fries.

White pizza with fresh tomato, ordered well done on the app
    Audrey B.

I'm from NJ so I can be picky about pizza. I'm always trying different places on the quest for the perfect pie. Haven't found it yet but I will say I'm consistently going back to Mario's. The crust has that quintessential crunch with a decent amount of chewiness. Good selection of quality toppings. Always baked to perfection. I hate when the cheese is barely melted and that's never a problem here. In fact you can specify on the convenient app how well you want it done. You just have to really visualize the size of the pies here because their large is mahoosive. I have significantly over ordered here to the point the thing barely fit in my car! I recently ordered the white pizza with added fresh tomato and it was *chef's kiss* delicious.

Great casual atmosphere, the staff have really come into their own, and the food is simple but has little touches that often make it a small cut above most other sports bar type places around. My favorite things to order are the smashburgers, chicken philly (almost as good as the one at Old Town, a restaurant also belonging to this same owner), and now the fish and chips. I decided to get those last night, and the fish was two good size thick cod filets, fried and breaded perfectly. The fish was flaky and tender, the remoulade it came with really elevated it, I'm glad it was not plain tartar sauce (gross). The appetizer favorite here is the pulled pork nachos for me, otherwise, we usually just get meals. If I had one small complaint, it's that the tea is usually brewed pretty weak. Steep it a little longer, and you've got me fully hooked.

We loved their homemade dressings. Service: Our server was great! Attentive, kind, and offered to let us taste test. She also was helpful in her descriptions and recommendations. However, our experience fell short upon arrival. The hostess said they don't have a table for 5 but we could add a chair to a 4 top. And when I said that's not a comfortable or reasonable set up for 5 people and asked if we could push two tables together, she seemed annoyed. Who thinks it's acceptable for a party of 5 to sit someone at the corner point of a 4 top table when there are open tables all around? Management advice: If this is truly your approach, I'd recommend you rethink that logic. This is basic hospitality.

I don't know if the ownership has changed or if they just made some decisions to alter things, but either way it changes our opinion of the place. First and most important for us, they used to be the only place we were aware of in NC to get Gluten Free Crab Cakes which was a major reason we frequented Sammy G's. That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. However, with the loss of the old GF options, it's unlikely we'll come back anywhere near as often as we used to.

It's not to be confused with Fig and Olive Cafe in Greensboro. Fig & Olive is new to Stock + Grain. It opened last month, July 2025. Stock + Grain opened in early 2022. The food hall has really filled in since then. We visited for dinner before a Carolina Core soccer game and the place was packed. My wife and I were drawn to Fig & Olive's menu. We wanted something light and relatively healthy. They sell sandwiches and bowls, priced at $11 to $18.50 each. We both got the Portofino Bowl for $16.50 each. It comes with baby arugula, soppressata, bresaola, marinated artichoke hearts, shaved pecorino romano, fresh lemon, and extra virgin olive oil. The bowls/salads were presented nicely. One of our friends commented that they looked "delightful." Unfortunately, the bowls looked better than they tasted. They were unbalanced and hard to enjoy. We were unable to finish them. While the portion sizes were decent, I was working/chewing through a lot of dense, cured meat. There wasn't any dressing except for the EVOO (which I'm not sure we even noticed) and some lemon wedges. Overall, the bowls weren't that flavorful. They felt incomplete. The quality of the ingredients was fine, though. They give you a pager so you know when to pick up your order. When I went to pick up our bowls, they made a mistake and only prepared one bowl instead of two. I let them know and later, the cashier brought my bowl directly to where we were sitting. She was polite and apologetic. No big deal to me. It looked like there were only two people working and they were busy. Given how new this place is and the appealing menu, I'd be willing to give it another shot. Maybe they were still working some kinks out and/or we ordered the wrong thing. Fig & Olive is certainly a nice addition to Stock + Grain's lineup. According to Fig & Olive's page on Stock + Grain's website, the business is "a social enterprise" of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC's Providence program where "all efforts and profits support workforce development programs."
