Never again. This place is nasty. I watch the person handling food ( who was definitely the owner), biting his nails and then touching food without washing his hands. He was also absolutely awful and disrespectful to his employees in front of customers. Well, I wish I had a better review. (I know they are related to the Mario's in Lake Worth). Unfortunately, I came here on a night with a large group and it was a fiasco. We had a reservation but when we all came in they didn't have it. (even thought it had been confirmed at 5 pm that day. So we all moved outside (which in the end was better for socializing), but getting the food out to 3 large tables was very difficult. One table got their food first; the other two waited. And then another table got theirs, and the first table was finished. And so on... They did take 25% off each person's bill. Unfortunately, my Greek Salad with shrimp was not good - it also had no olives or peppecini and the shrimp was not done. When I did say something they didn't do anything about it. That is really why I am not giving it a good review. I understand they are new so I know they have a lot of kinks to work out. I don't live in West Boca so I don't know when I would frequent it again - I do see from the other reviews that others have had very good experiences. read more

I always judge a pizza place by their cheese pizza. If you can't do a good cheese pizza that's worrisome. Their pizza was great. The sauce was on the sweeter side which I like and the crust was thin but not too thin. We also ordered Mario's favorite which was good too. My father in law ordered the gnocchi which I have to say I have been thinking of lately. I really wanted to try their arancini but I'm saving that for next time. Their service was good, the only thing I would mention is she never came back around to refill the water but she was overall friendly and on top of everything. It's very much like industrial style in there you can see the kitchen and exposed pipes and they toss the pizza in the air in front of you. Overall it was a good place for dinner. read more

Food was amazing the staff was wonderful and welcoming. They bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of. The restaurant was slammed with tons of customers and the staff handled the craziness with great care and consideration. Portions were generous and we will definitely be back! A group of 7 of us arrived for a 5:30 reservation on a Wednesday evening. It was hard to make a choice from the many options., a multitude of Italian food dishes as well as pizza. After making our selections our food arrived in fairly quick order. I must say everybody enjoyed their food which was delicious. We had excellent service with a smile inVery nice experience. Highly recommended. The overall experience is alright to put it lightly, the food for an Italian restaurant, to put it simply is sub par. And on top of that Chris (the owner and pizza chef) boxes up food and makes food with his bare hands not washing his hands from what I've seen at all. Not to mention the restaurant is for the most part empty in terms of other customers while the whole place is filled with staff standing around. The busser stand is right next to the tables which makes it very uncomfortable and Chris and his brother Mike are very rude to their staff often yelling personal insults when they make a small mistake. Everyone there seems miserable the only redeeming quality is the OK food which is a stretch even, garlic rolls that are drenched and soggy, pizza that is burnt and greasy. I don't think I've ever ordered from a restaurant twice in one day, but here I am! My kids eat pizza like it's the only available food on the planet and I have tried every pizza place locally to us and nothing really wows me...until now. Mario's West is the best pizza I've had in a long time! And I am so excited that they took over Raras. I will be telling all friends and family about this place. Including this post which I rarely do. Haven't eaten inside and saw the post about the management but my husband said that everyone was nice when he went to pick up our second order. This post comes with mixed reviews. It is just opening and I really want it to do well. I was excited for a good restaurant in our little community. We were greeted promptly, servers were very attentive, and the food was delicious. As we were wrapping up our dinner, I had half of mine left to take home for my son. The portions are very generous. I asked for a roll or two to take home to him and the server said absolutely. She came back, upset and embarrassed and said the manager told her no. At this point, I did not care about the roll. It was how she was treated and the scene the manager/pizza maker made. She said she would ask the other manager and then she came back and said the answer is still no. That was completely fine. What ruined our experience was he was talking to another gentleman (maybe the owner) and yelling that "she is giving out rolls to the customers." The yelling and abusive behavior was uncalled for. It seemed he was making fun and she was visibly upset. She was only trying to make the customer happy. Is that how you treat employees or people in general? At one point, she was in the back, upset and he was yelling again "where are the servers!" On our way out, others in the restaurant were staring at him. All over "these are the only rolls i have and she is offering them up" when there were 5 tables filled and everybody had their rolls. Through the entire dinner he was loud, frazzled, and overall, not someone I want to listen to while trying to enjoy my dinner. Maybe it was just an off night. I understand opening is stressful. In summary, the food was great. Servers and other staff were friendly. Management and general people skills from the higher ups need some work. read more

Manager/ owner treated us very rudely when we arrived with a party of 15 that we had made a reservation for but when we arrived we were told they don't take reservations. After 10 minutes they figured out how to push three tables together. The server took our order and then proceeded to tell us they couldn't separate our checks. We asked why and were rudely answered. The manager came over and said they can't separate checks. I asked him what he would do if 16 different people came in? He then proceeded to tell the server to take her time with our order and checking us out and the he didn't care if it took all night. Very rude, unacceptable attitudes especially toward paying customers! We will not be having our team gatherings here again even though both schools are within a mile of the restaurant.
