A very reasonable fee which I was happy to pay. Being a native Beaconite who did a lot of business with Rudy, I'm so pleased (and relieved) to see that a young person as friendly and personable as Rudy has taken over the business. Congratulations, Nick, and good luck in the years ahead. Smart move to be open on Sunday as well!

There was another patron in there who was ecstatic with the repairs he did to her bracelet. The bracelet appeared to be high end. The store has a wide selection of new and vintage watches and jewelry. I noticed buffing and other machines to do repairs and/or modifications; to me it indicates he does the work on the premises rather than outsourcing. That's a comforting thought.

The family I'm staying with also suggested I check it out. It's my last day here and I wanted to check it out before I left because I heard they have really cool old school toys (which I collect), cool clothes, and bras in my size! I waited until they were open but no one was there so I decided to walk around and come back a little later. Upon entering I was not greeted. Not a big deal though because I can be pretty shy and wanted to browse around. I soon felt uncomfortable; like I wasn't welcome but I brushed it off. It's a feeling POC unfortunately often feel when they're shopping in unfamiliar areas or shops. I wanted to give the woman at the register the benefit of the doubt. I found a cool harmonica that I wanted to gift my boyfriend but was being indecisive about what else to get I remembered the bras! I went to check them out and then I stumbled upon the sale section and that's when the woman at the register basically ran up on me. She said to let her know if I needed help with anything. It was completely bizarre because it was clear she came over just to see what I was doing. There were a few other people in there and she passed by them and didn't ask them if they needed anything. It was so clear in my mind that she thought I was trying to steal that dumb ass harmonica or anything from that janky store. The bras were overpriced, the clothes were honestly hideous and not for anyone under the age of 40. The toys and books were ok but nothing really jumped out at me. Except this woman. It was a very uncomfortable experience and when I went to pay for the items (yes I got the damn harmonicas) she gave me full on attitude. No smile, very condescending "you're welcome" after I thanked her. Just all around bad attitude as if she was the one being followed. I would beware if you are a POC. I didn't get the woman's name but she was probably a SWF, pudgy and had dark hair.

He told my husband he should bring me with him to shop for my own ring so he'd know that I'd like it...That trying to do otherwise was wouldn't work out and I'd probably hate it. WHAT?! My husband wanted to surprise me and knows me well enough to know what I'll like, thanks for your help! FYI my husband went to the diamond district and had a custom ring made that I LOVE...hope you didn't want that $8,000 Rudy! I also went in one morning to ask a question and see if I could get a cleaning done. He was short with me and dismissed me saying he couldn't clean my rings because he hadn't turned the machine on yet. Well first off all, you opened your shop on time and then went to get mail, leaving myself and two other customers confused, waiting for your return. Second of all, had you have been there, the machine would have been ready. Third of all, you didn't ask what time frame I was on, I had a few hours and could have came back. Again, hope you didn't want my money, I gave you a second shot since you're right down the street, and you failed...again. MY personal opinion? He see's myself as someone who looks young and won't spend money. Or saw my husband in his construction work clothes and thought the same thing and just didn't want to give us the time of day. Lots of items, from photographs and paintings, Christmas ornaments, cards, scarves, jewelry, and much more! I saw a lot of things I liked, but I only wound up buying a pair of earrings (for myself!) ($25) that are Christmas themed (see picture!). Will definitely return any time I go to Beacon!

We purchased a great painting after spending a few minutes speaking with it's artist who was working around the shop. Everyone there who ran the gallery was helpful and friendly, we spend several minutes in the store after our purchase talking to the owners and other artists who were around, about the town and other great things to see. A must see in Beacon!
