    Octopus and shrimp ceviche

Wow, I had a fish tostada, my husband had the octopus and shrimp ceviche! Incredibly fresh and delicious. So we ordered burritos to go for dinner later. The folks working there were so kind and the place felt very comfortable.

I ordered the Asada Taco Salad. It was delicious and very filling! Staff is always friendly and this is my go to spot anytime I come up from the valley.

We stayed in Oakhurst for a family trip to Yosemite. I ordered the mixed toasta and my husband got a shrimp and octopus tostada. While it was very good in terms of portion and taste, it was very spicy! My husband loves spicy food but I can barely handle spice. Maybe providing options for heat or letting customers know would be helpful! The tables were a little bit sticky and with crumbs , but overall was clean and had plenty of seating inside. Staff was friendly.

A Hidden Gem for sure!! I almost hate to tell you how good it is in fear of it getting too busy.. What a great experience. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and Comida Delisiosa!!! Definitely will be back..

Wanna tasty local mariscos? Tacos, tostadas, large burritos and a salsa bar included! Right in the same strip mall with the Starbucks. Would definitely return.

Plazuelas Mexican Restaurant, Oakhurst: 2026 Aug 5 (3.95 of 5)…read more Adrian, our server was gracious and friendly We were served water, complementary chips and salsa when seated. The chips were made in-house and had that clean fresh taste. The salsa was spicy but we couldn't stop eating. (4.5 of 5) Their prices are high for where they are located and our food didn't come with rice and beans. We agreed that the confirmation of a great Mexican restaurant comes from the rice and beans they serve. (4 of 5) Rib Eye Tacos: The rib eye tacos feature juicy, richly marbled steak cubes piled into warm home-made flour tortillas, topped with caramelized onions, cabbage and guacamole. The tender pieces of meat had great complexity, was well-charred, and had a nice mouthfeel. It breaks down easily with minimal chewing and the taste lingers on my tongue after each bite. (4.75 of 5) Fish Tacos: From street-food to table-top specialty, this is a popular Mexican dish. Their Ensenada-style beer-battered halibut served on homemade corn tortillas with pineapple-cabbage slaw and garlic chipotle sauce is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Squeezing a generous amount of lime juice added a bright, sharp sour taste that cuts through and balances the overall flavour. (4.5 of 5) Atmosphere: The place is clean with table and chairs well spread out, but the music blaring over the speakers made conversations difficult. This eatery looks out onto the parking lot. (2 of 5) Location: This is located in an anchor business area so FREE parking is easily accessible. Service: Adrian was our server. He was genuine, unpretentious, and sincere. He's only been working there for 6-years, but he may be the anchor to this family-owned eatery. Plazuelas Mexican: A passion for honest, uncomplicated, and authentic flavours.

It feels complete and I LOVED their aguachile here!!! Spicy, zesty, chilled, and generous with the onions and cucumbers and avocado. It took longer to come out for sure, but when I tasted how fresh it was, it totally made sense. Each bite was humongous since I needed each component to make it perfect and I am so glad they gave enough toppings to complete each bite. AVOCADO IS NEEDED FOR SURE, the creaminess calmed down the spice and it was just delectable. It was so spicy that I had some stomach pain after, but the shrimp was also definitely basically completely raw as well. Take that as you will but every shrimp was perfectly deveined and this aguachile was a 1000/10. Thank you to the cooks and cashiers here! All super nice. We asked for more tostadas and they gave it to us free of charge. When the cashier told the cook, he was like "IS IT DELICIOUS" and we shouted across the restaurant that IT IS SUPER DELICIOUS. This will be my first pick when I go back! Most people got the burritos and stuff and those looked bomb too.

However, the meal I just bought was the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. I eat chili relleno burritos a lot because I'm a vegetarian. It was completely tasteless with no added spices. Service was decent, and the ambiance was nice, but overall the experience was just okay. The Peruvian pretzel was actually pretty darn good and probably one of the highlights of the meal. The biggest disappointment, and the main reason I'm giving three stars, was the oysters. If I could rate the oysters separately, I would give them zero stars. They were probably some of the worst-tasting oysters I've ever had. They tasted extremely fishy and did not seem fresh at all. We ordered a dozen and definitely regretted ordering that many. The dipping sauce that came with them was very good, but for the price this restaurant charges, the oysters should absolutely taste fresh. I also would not recommend the mac and cheese. It looked more like something that came out of a box than freshly made restaurant mac and cheese. If you're ordering for kids, I'd probably choose the pasta with tomato sauce instead. There were some good things about the meal, especially the pretzel and the atmosphere, but between the oysters, the mac and cheese, the long wait for food, and the prices, three stars feels fair.

(5 of 5) Fish & Chips: Today's classic dish of the British Isles has a good crunch on the batter and a delicate buttery interior, but could use more seasoning. The potato chips were managed and fried well. A dash of salt put this over the top. The coleslaw had a different texture and taste that I'm not familiar with so I'm not a fan. (4 of 5) Mushroom Swiss Burger (1/3 pound ground beef patty seasoned, topped with mushroom, swiss cheese & grilled onion on a brioche bun): The warm, buttery sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese add a creamy texture that marries well with the savoury beef patty. Together, they created a smooth, velvety mouthfeel. (5 of 5) Lemonade: My lemonade was refreshing - with enough acidity and sweetness.
