If I can give 0 stars I would This place is the worst with there customer service I had a dinner reservation for my wife's birthday !! I made reservation 2 days prior . When I get there the manager and the host look lost . They don't have an organized system . They make your write your name down with number . Terrible customer service . I will never come here again . Management is terrible ... they told me I was looking at a 2 hour wait . we were all up set because we drove 45 min to try this place out !!! From the Yelp reviews, I saw they charged for bottled water and didn't have regular free water on tap as an option so I called to ask as I find that ridiculous, by principle. I've been to other restaurants that also only offer bottled water but it's free. The woman who answered the phone said that they do charge for bottled water because their water filter was broken and the water wasn't safe to drink. I think that's a BS excuse bc reviews over two years ago say the same thing about the bottled water situation so if it is broken, fix it. I then asked if the water wasn't safe to drink, doesn't that affect the food safety and she said no and then said yes and then said all of their water wasn't safe to drink. Didn't make any sense. I was really excited to try this place and while I realize $3 for a bottle of water isn't a big deal, it is absolutely ridiculous by principle. Figure out a better pricing structure that builds in your spending into the price of food rather than lie to patrons. read more

Located at the old Ruby Tuesday location beside Chik-fil-A and across Liberia from Walmart. My wife and I dined here on Friday night. The remodel from Ruby Tuesday is nice. The layout is the same but lighting was upgraded. A nautical theme is obvious throughout. Our table had a sea turtle inlayed on it. The restaurant was crowded at about 6 pm. No wait but it was probably 75% full. Service was ok. Our server was absent for long periods but was quick with refills. The food runners did not know which table to bring food to. Every time they brought out food they looked around and at each other until the server would finally come and take it from them. The first thing brought to the table was a basket with store bought tostada shells and two tiny cups of green and red fiery hot salsa. They were both too spicy for me to eat and I like some heat. I had a dos equis amber on draft which was tasty and my wife had a mango fruit smoothie that was made with the equivalent of Mr. and Mrs. T's syrup mix, in other words, slurpees are better. The disappointing parts for me were the size and overcooking of the seafood and a nasty sewer smell in the bathroom. My wife had a shrimp platter with butter sauce which also came with salad, rice, and fries. The shrimp were very small and completely overcooked. The shrimp were either mushy or very rubbery. The salad came with no dressing and when asked if there was any type of dressing the server brought both italian and thousand island. I ordered the Pasta El Barco which is a creamy sauce with shrimp, mussels, and scallops. The creamy sauce is kind of a rose sauce and was very good and there was plenty of it. The same either mushy or rubbery overcooked shrimp accompanied this dish along with the tiniest also overcooked scallops. They were half the circumference of a dime.The mussels tasted really good but were also overcooked and the dish only included two mussels. The cost for the quality is very high. I don't mind paying higher prices for seafood that is of good quality and prepared properly. This meal did not fall into either one of those categories. Overall very disappointing for a seafood place to overcook what is supposed to be their signature ingredients and to use such low quality seafood ingredients. We have had much better seafood at Red Lobster. We will not be returning. read more

My family is from Sinaloa and this is the first restaurant in NoVa that we can say is truly authentic. Staff are friendly and attentive, and speak both English and Spanish. The menu is also in both English and Spanish. The restaurant is in a beautiful nautical theme. The bathrooms do need a bit of updating. We went for a Saturday dinner and the restaurant was 80% full. The menu is a bit pricy, but for the amount of food you get, it is well worth it. They also have a military discount. We had the Carne Asada, Tacos de Camarones, Ceviche, and Camarones Marinados. All were perfectly seasoned and had generous portions. The shrimp in all dishes were perfectly cooked and came out steaming hot in our tacos and the marinado. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican seafood dishes in the DMV! read more

Don't waste your time and money. Just tried it for first time. Not a good experience. The Hostest greeted us with a quiet mumble-not sure what she said. She walked us to our table, dropped the menus, and left without saying a word. The next couple that came in was seated next to us eventhough the restaurant was quite empty. Always great getting to listen into another couple's conversation whether you want to or not. Waitress finally came bringing a basket with 3 stale tostatas and 2 dipping sauces that looked like bottled hot sauce. We ordered drinks and ask for 2 waters. She brought 2 plastic water bottles but didn't mention they were $1.50 each. My wife order a Jack & Diet-tall (extra diet). She returned 30 seconds later to ask if it was coke or diet coke. It came back in a short glass, not tall. Lots of very expensive choices so we tried the Fish Ceviche-Large which was enough for a group of 6. It was mushed up fish flakes, with red onions, carrot,& tomatoes. A lot of unnecessary fillers. read more

They offer only bottled water, when she saw we brought our own she rolled our eyes at us. Another waitress came asking what we were going to drink, we showed our bottles and she looked at us like THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE? we told her we where there to eat...SHE LOOKED SHOCKED. Been anticipating the opening of this new spot ever since ruby tuesdays closed. Huge disappointment, This place is horrible. The decor was the only cool part about our experience. Everthing on the menu was basically similiar, shrimp, mussels etc etc.. same sauces... need variety. Mostly female employees / servers . Very unorganized. Water came out in a dasani bottle -_- toilet seats were broken. Servers were just standing around laughing playing instead of doing something productive like bringing us silverware (forks,knives) our table had no plates no spoons nothing. Our food came out and we asked for silverware and she was confused i guess because of language barrier, but c'mon.. first thing to do would be to provide utencils. Common sense.. if we hadnt asked for it we were probably expected to eat our soups with our hands. Carne asada was ok. Server barely came to the table. A different server came and gave us 3 small plates for the 5 of us -_- the horchata is just milk and watered down and sprinkled with cinnamon. No good. Wont last. read more

Went for the first time and was very disappointed. Where do I begin, this was not because of staffing. If anything they were overstaffed. We were excited to try the restaurant and had been waiting in anticipation for it to open. From the outside I had a few concerns walking in but decided to cut them a break because of them being fairly new. We parked on the end where we could see the back of the restaurant and it was clear that they had not addressed the filth by the back. We went in and there was a group of 4 or 5 servers/ hostesses all talking amongst themselves and it felt as though we were interrupting their chatting. One sat us without a word a your server will be right with is the basic norm but nothing from that person. Our server came and could not understand us because we did not speak Spanish. She had some basic understanding but it was limited. After looking over the menu and ordering drinks I ordered an appetizer of calamari rings, the price said 29 dollars and it did say platter size, there were 5 of us so I figured the price was high because it would be fresh and a large portion and neither proved to be true. We started to feel not welcome, being ignored by the multiple staff members playing while the place could have definitely been cleaned. I had to use the restroom which wasn't very clean but not the worst I've seen but right before getting to the restroom I noticed a small room to the side that was stuffed with junk, like an overstuffed closet you would see on an episode of hoarders. After returning to the table and continuing to look over the menu I felt like everything was way overpriced most of the seafood dishes were made from the frozen seafood mix bags that are cheaper than the individual seafood and by the way for the price it should be fresh seafood not from frozen finally our waitress took our orders. As we sat waiting we were served the tiniest serving of salsa I have ever seen. It was spicy but most of the group liked the heat and it sat empty for a good while before our server finally wandered over and ask if we would like another mouse size serving. As I sat there 45 minutes waiting for our food (the restaurant was not even busy) I noticed other cleaning issues like the windows and front entrance doors. The servers laughed and chatted comfortably while ignoring us as drinks sat empty and the salsa sat empty. One of them was even eating a strawberry at the door. As we were waiting I realized that the hostess did not even give us silverware and when the food came I asked the server and she clearly did not understand the word silverware, my daughter who speaks Spanish told her what we needed and then she went and got some. I couldn't believe that someone would invest as much money as it must taken to open and then let the lackadaisical staff trash their reputation. It's not even the price that bothers me, it's the lack of cleaning, lack of care from the staff and clearly poor management, they really need to improve to make it worth returning to. read more
