Everyone dug the fish tacos, roasted summer peppers, and stone fruit crumble. My family loved exploring the area around the restaurant, it seems to be a hit with kids (climbing on art / statues) and the outdoorsy (great views of the bay and yachts / houseboats) and SF-Vallejo ferries. Friday night we enjoyed the live music and outdoor patio. Service was great and fast.

Solid food, terrible customer service…read more Really disappointing experience. We got there around 2pm, and our server was mumbling, not very personable, and didn't even write down our order. I'm not sure if that's why our food took over an hour to come out, but it definitely made the wait even more frustrating People who sat down after us had already gotten their food, finished eating, and paid by the time we even received our meal. We drove 45 minutes each way to come here, so waiting over an hour for food with no explanation or real acknowledgment was super disappointing!!! What made it worse was that there was no concession or attempt to make up for the experience. When we finally paid and got up to leave, another server rushed over with the POS asking if we had paid. After everything, it just felt like one thing after another. The woman managing was very sweet, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the overall experience was just really poor and absolutely not worth the 90-minute round trip. Also the server who was stepping in to help in place of our original server kept apologizing and let us know the kitchen was slow. What am I supposed to do w that information. For reference we were originally at table 1 and were moved to table 16.

The staff is always incredibly friendly, the restaurant is clean with plenty of seating, and the food is consistently amazing. The tortillas are made in house, the salsas are the perfect finishing touch, and I genuinely haven't had a single thing on the menu that I didn't enjoy. The tamales are AMAZING. The fish tacos are perfect. And the beans? Chef's kiss. Honestly, even the sides deserve their own review. You can taste the time, care, and effort that goes into making everything from scratch, and the prices absolutely reflect the quality while still feeling very fair. This has become one of those places you don't just try once. You go back often. And we definitely do!

The meats on the tacos were tender and well seasoned. My favorite were the carnitas for their slight crisp. The salsas are spicy but have good flavor. I also love that they come with pickled veggies and radishes! Tamales have a good masa to filling ratio and aren't dry. I was surprised when I ordered the rajas con queso (green pepper with cheese) tamal and it had some red sauce inside. The chilaquiles were a solid breakfast choice too. I wish there was more service/interaction with the client. You pick up your food at the food counter and after you're done you buss your own plates. Parking is limited in their parking lot but there's plenty of street parking around the corner.

Okay, Rockin' Crawfish!…read more I recently heard they were under new ownership, and I'll admit I was a little skeptical. But I decided to give them a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Our group ordered just about everything on the menu, and honestly, almost every dish was a hit. The only item that fell a little short for me was the fish sauce wings--I think those could use some improvement. Other than that, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The service was also incredibly pleasant. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely sweet. While we did have to ask for a few things multiple times because they were initially forgotten, they were always quick to help and eager to make things right. My only real complaint besides the wings is the pricing on some add-ons. Charging $8 for six small pieces of sausage feels excessive and is hard to justify, especially when compared to the portion sizes of everything else. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. Good food, great service, and a noticeable improvement under the new ownership. Despite a couple of minor complaints, I'll definitely be back.

I ordered to-go 1lb of clams and 1lb of shrimp head-on, mild level, and rockin combo flavor, and an appetizer of Calamari. When I got home, I saw that they didn't give me salt/pepper and lemon, so that was very disappointing already. The food was okay, I didn't really taste the garlic, and towards the end, I could only taste pepper-ish seafood. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. So bummed because it's near where I live.

You can get an appetizer with an entree and drink under $20. The food is great here too. I've tried several items, but the standouts to me are the pad Thai with chicken and the yellow curry with tofu. Their Thai tea is great too. Perfect balance and doesn't taste too bitter or too creamy. The staff is extremely nice and kind, and they will definitely take care of you. The only downside to it, is that it is usually packed and they are a bit on the slower side. So, if you have extra time, or are not in a rush, I will definitely recommend Kao Sarn to you!

The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and they are really good at serving multiple people at once. They're very attentive and always make sure you're ok. I usually come during lunch where you get a complimentary salad and rice. The salad has the best dressing! I usually get either the garlic noodles with steak, whole pompano fish, grilled lamb, lamb shank, or their crispy fried chicken. They're all super good. If you're new, I would suggest the garlic noodles with steak (they're super generous with the meat) Their appetizers are also pretty good too. Like I said, I don't think you can order something from here and be disappointed. Love their service. My only gripe is prices have increased quite a bit over the past years but I guess that is every establishment in the Bay.

Don't expect a kool-aid smile when you come FOR THE FIRST TIME, like I did. New number is 510-520-2076 Now about the food: Mustard Greens- when I tell you the GLORY canned collard greens are MUCCHHH BETTER!! Believe me! It doesn't taste like they used smoked turkey, in fact I'm not sure what they used to flavor the greens, but the flavor has left the building. Oh and don't be surprised when you see the sides portion Red Snapper- I was hoping for a savory taste, but I was met with lack of flavor. Don't get me wrong, I think it is seasoned perfectly, but some of us folks like a little more seasoning than what they're dishing out now. Overall, I think the portion is decent enough for one person. Banana pudding- not to my liking. Because I don't have much good stuff to say, I will end here. Everybody can't make banana pudding! This place has nothing on JJ's fish.

Their menu is pretty simple and little pricey. I got their fried tilapia with hush puppies. Nothing really special in terms of flavor, but also not bad. The eastern European looking lady ( who probably is neurodivergent or something...) that attended me was quite rude, and when I asked about certain items she was reluctant to explain, and sometimes would pause and not really give any description of some plates. In reflection I tried to forgive her weird behavior, but when I saw that she was way nicer and performative to Afro American clientele (I'm latina), i knew then that I wouldn't return and support their business. Overall, the food's OK and if you're OK with mediocre customer service you should definitely go. :)
