I've been to this restaurant four times now when visiting Bakersfield. I must say at least to me this is great Mexican food. The chips and salsa are unique the beer is ice cold and the entrées are yummy. Each and every time the service has been friendly and quick. Besides all these wonderful things I must say this restaurant is truly spotless inside and out from the windows to the restrooms. I do want to say that our server was very nice and attentive and we really enjoyed her service but the food was DISGUSTING for the most part. The first item we enjoyed which was camarones Zarandeados. But the rest was was not it. My daughter got agauachiles which she said was okay. I got tacos gobernador and they were funky smelling I thought it was just me being picky but then my husband got a caldo de camarón and nope that was spoiled. As soon As I smelled it I knew it was off but once I tasted it I wanted to vomited. Our waitress did take it off our tab. Then my other daughter got a asada quesadilla and it tasted weird not sure if it was the cheese but she couldn't eat it either. That was my first and last time at that location. I recently went to dinner with my family and was not impressed for various reasons. 1) Customer service was horrible. The waiter literally took an hour to take our order and was inattentive to our needs. 2) It's as if they have changed chefs. I ordered spicy shrimp and to my surprise the food was cold. When I brought it to the attention of the waiter, she took my plate and placed my food in the microwave. This is not authentic food!!!! 3) The supposed person in charge had terrible customer service. Even after running a tab over $150 we where charged for food that was brought out cold twice. I would have imagined that the manager discount the food due to our dissatisfaction. If I could give a negative I would! We got to the restaurant with a large party (15 of us) so we were open that we would have to wait to be seated. However, we were NOT aware that we would wait 2+ hours. They offered us to be placed on picnic tables however, the tables were NOT being cleaned after people would use them. So we denied their offer. While waiting I asked if I could have a michelada and the waitress responds "you are going to have to wait"... so apparently you aren't considered a customer only if you actually have a table. Because other than that, you are just someone asking for "too much". The way they managed their seating was terrible, they were making us wait for people in smaller groups to leave so that they could join our tables (reasonable enough). Only then we realized that none of the waitresses knew what they were doing so they would keep occupying what was suppose to be our tables. That fact that this day was suppose to be special because it was my grandfathers birthday celebration and I drove two hours for what was suppose to be a lunch filled with laughter and family moments turned out to be a nightmare. I would NEVER bother giving them my hard earned money. I also recommend to ask if your table has been cleaned and disinfected because I know for a fact they are NOT following CDC guidelines. read more

I was very disappointed with our server Julie. She was lazy, inpatient, and rude. She took our drink order and was in the process of taking our meal order when she abruptly left to check with her manager on a food question we had. She, however never returned and left us with no drinks and no food. After waiting approximately 10 minutes we were able to get the attention of another server, Angelica. She was the complete opposite of Julie. She was very pleasant and seemed like she truly cared about her job. It is very unfortunate that Julie cared more about pleasing and flirting with a male customer at another table then taking care of the other customers in the restaurant including us. I hope the management team is able to find more servers like Angelica. In regards to our food, it met our expectations but was nothing special. Overall, I can only rate this restaurant with 2 stars as it was very dirty, unorganized, and we truly have no desire to return. read more
