So, usually, I wait a few days to post a review because I want to be sure of what I want to say. Today is different. I am still sitting in the booth at Rancho Grande Mex Grill. I'm doing this now because I do not want anyone to miss the opportunity to eat here. To start, my Server, Sue Ellen, was GREAT, and pretty to boot. The atmosphere is authentic Mexican and the decor matches everything to a tee. Now the food. El Capitan, on California Avenue has been my go to for years for great Mexican food. Rancho Grande has just taken that spot. While it is a little out of the way, out on Allen Road near Rosedale, but well worth the drive. I had the combination plate with three entrees. Shredded Chicken Taco, Shredded Beef Enchilada, and a Tamale. Included was refried beans and Spanish rice. One word..... AWESOME!!!!!! I am not a chicken fan, but I wanted a variety of meats. The taco was the bomb. The Enchilada was hot, juicy and good. The Tamale was done perfectly. I truly enjoyed the chips and salsa the comes with your service. I usually do not review the restroom, but the one here was immaculate. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

We met some friends for an early 4:30 dinner at Rancho grande, we had our choice of booths. The restaurant is a fun place, It's colorful and lively. Jose our waiter greeted us took our order for drinks (vodka tonic) and brought out chips with the spicy black sauce. My wife and I ordered ground beef tacos combinations. Our friend's decided on tacos and chili verde enchilada combos with Cadillac margaritas . All our dinners were brought out promptly. Jose was excellent. Our dinners were good but kind out bland no real striking Mexican flavor we all agreed, cocktails were just right and hit the spot. Prices weren't out of sight reasonable. Our early dinner was a success, we were ahead of crowds which showed up around 5:30 Rancho Grande did a fine job

Usual spot for menudo on the weekend. Noticed the brunch buffet and went to check it out . . . They had everything, plus menudo and 2 mimosas. Started with a bowl of menudo and then had some chorizo with eggs, potatoes with onions and bell peppers, a cheese enchilada, some pork ribs in salsa and a splash of refried beans. Their refried beans are delicious. Followed all of that with a few trips to the dessert bar (don't judge me), had some fruit, Druid salad and strawberries and crema. There is so much more to the list but I am so full that I cannot think straight. We usually sit in the bar because Monica works that section. We enjoy her service, friendly and professional. Highly recommend the buffet!

It's been a while visiting Ranch Grande and I don't know why. I think the reason was my visit to the Rancho on Panama bummed me out. The Brimhall location was good, the fajitas screaming hot, not burnt and filled with so much goodness beat expectations! They meat was tender, flavorful and peppers cooked without being burned to death like some popular places. Flautas big beefy crispy monsters, not the Delimax taquito size some pass off as flautas, I would have given 5 if the chips were hot, salsa was good though.

    Salsa- so good but spicy!

The packed parking lot was a good indication of what was in store for us here. Walking in, we were cheerfully greeted and sat at a table in a very colorful and vibrant environment. The smells of deliciousness wafted through the air and I could hardly wait to order. I went for a combo plate, my husband went with enchiladas Souza and our son had the child's bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans. The food was SO incredibly tasty. The kind of food your tastebuds are expecting when you crave Mexican food.

Rancho is family! We have been coming to the location off of brimhall since they have opened. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. They make my family feel at home with their Amazing service, food and cocktails. Believe me when I say this... their beers are ALWAYS iced cold, literally the best in town. If you're looking for a fun atmosphere that is kid friendly and treats your family like their own then Rancho is the place for you. Make sure you go check them out for their brunch on Sundays also

Fish tacos-very little fish fillets and covered in beans.

While Rancho boasts some significant popularity I found some issues with the way they present their food. The flavor is great but when you say you offer something a certain way on the menu and I order it I expect that. We came on a busy Friday (5:30pm) and only waited about 10min. Once seated we ordered some drinks and the waitress was very attentive. However the food was something different. While flavorful, the fish tacos were significantly limited on the size of the fish in the taco. They also were covered with beans underneath. We also ordered the seafood chile rellenos which note they are "filled" with shrimp and had avocado. There was no avocado to be found, and the shrimp was only on top-total of maybe 8 shrimp. The taste is there but would be great to have it meet minimum expectations of the menu. Lots of people inside who you know don't appreciate Mexican food.

A friend spoke highly of this place, so my husband wanted to try it out. It was all of our first time here. We were seated quickly, and our waiter, a young man, was very friendly! There was no issue on the wait time. Drinks and food were brought out pretty quickly. A little too quickly where we joked about the food being conveniently pre-cooked. My husband ordered steak fajitas, and he said they were a high 3. Usually places give more vegetables than meat but this place hooked it up on the meat! My older daughter got the Chili Verde enchiladas. She really liked them. The only thing she noticed was that the pork was big chunks. They could've been shredded or cut more. I got the cheese enchiladas, which i thought were pretty good. The salsa was good, but yes, it was spicy, but on my enchiladas, it was tolerable ( I don't do spicy). I did like this place, but none of our meals stood out. I'm on the fence about returning if I'm ever craving Mexican food.

Worst experience ever, this will be our last visit here . Our server temo was so rude. My sister who is a regular here was shocked and also said she's not coming back.

Went to celebrate our daughter's birthday a day early. The food was delicious and the service was FANTASTIC!! Our waiter, Jesus, was on top of it!! I couldn't keep up with him if I was on roller skates! Very gas. Very efficient. Very friendly!!

Such big serving sizes!! Absolutely enjoyed every single bite. I went around 12:30 pm and it was packed but we sat ourselves in the bar area and ordered 2 orders of beef flautas from the lunch special. I did not think the servings would be so big, my goodness, i went home and went in a food coma LOL but very delicious

A Delicious Stop After the Farmer's Market!…read more Stopped by Mas Bella after the farmer's market and had such a great meal! We started with three drinks: the Tullum Bloom, Strawberry Margarita, and Strawberry Lemon Drop. All three were delightfully fruity and refreshing, making it hard to pick a favorite! For food, we ordered the birria bao buns, shrimp bao bun, chile relleno, crispy beef taco with refried beans and rice, and camarones with refried beans and soft tortillas. The birria bao bun was my absolute favorite! The mini bao is packed with flavorful birria, and I absolutely loved the consommé they serve alongside it for dipping. It's such a fun combination, and that consommé takes the bao to another level. I also really enjoyed that they make their salsas in-house. They served both a verde and a roasted red salsa with the buns, and both were delicious. The chile relleno was another standout. That melted, cheesy goodness inside was everything you want from a chile relleno! The crispy beef taco was an unexpected winner. It was served with what seemed to be the same delicious birria-style beef, so it was instantly a favorite. The crispy shell paired perfectly with the tender, flavorful meat. The camarones with soft tortillas were also really good. The shrimp were well seasoned, and the soft tortillas made them perfect for building little tacos.

I couldn't really taste the difference between the Paloma and the margarita ‍. The place is decorated really nice but what they should've focused on was making agood food. Shrimp skewers I was told was okay but even that had more veggies than actual shrimps. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. The presentation on nachos was excellent but the nachos were gross. No flavor in guacamole. Beans were plain beans bland af. The chicken wasn't seasoned and had an awful charbroiled taste, just awful! The salsa weren't spicy or tasty. I can only recommend this place for a good happy hour spot because prices are outrageous for drinks. Once again they should've focused on the food than the decor.
