It's your typical Mexican restaurant but the food was pretty tasty, two bowls of menudo, carne asada meal, 3 carne asada tacos, 3 drinks for only $48!?!? I'm disappointed, I use to come here when I was little after church and maybe I never notice it cause I was a child but I'm in my 30s and decided to bring my dad now for Father's Day after more than 15 years and Well I'm surprised this place is still open and they get graded. 1st complain they have to get better at cleaning this place it's a filth and don't sit close to the back cause you will smell the restroom while you eat. 2nd complain we order shrimp cocktail and the worst cocktail I've try and so water down. Literally they could add more pico to it and more flavor but it tasted like sea water with no flavor. 3rd complain my brother order beer and they brought him a can and they could have at least clean the top of it or wipe the can. It was so dirty. 4th complain change the damn oil, we got chips that taste like old oil and fish and we order mojarra pescado and it taste so bad. 5th complaint I think they have rats because after taking left overs my mom found rat poop on the rice or mix with the beans. I don't wanna assume and I hope it wasn't but we toss it and we are gonna make sure we don't come back to this place again. I hope food inspection goes and reviews this place soon. The shrimp cocktail flavor was not good at all, and the Tostada de ceviche shrimp tasted stale and flavor was bad as if it was in the fridge for a while. The Costa azul and the fillete Sarandiado were the only plates that were good. Micheladas , here, ok could have been better.The service was ok. Great food. Small. But good service. They have a jukebox. Michiladas are good. Ceviche tostadas and fried mojara in garlic is great.

Their filete sarandeado is to die for!! Food is amazing, service is not so great but I am guessing that they are overwhelmed from the huge crowds. Don't go if you're starving ready to sit and eat. This is probably the best hidden Gem marisco spot un baldwin park although it's a very busy street not to many people know about it or crate hype in this location. Been here multiple times I always get the pescado zarandeado and it's amazing by far best place it's a must try . Their menu is a lil more traditional from the Mexican seafoods nothing crazy like the newer spots that stand out on social media and yelp but give this place a try you won't regret it. read more

I called in for takeout and specifically asked for 5 shrimp tostadas when I arrived for pickup they have the bags tied up so you trust they have the order right and I looked at the receipt but it just said tostadas. I get home and what do I have? Ceviche!!! I was so upset I needed to go back bec they were gonna close in 15 min and I also called and no answer. When I arrive I explained to the MANAGER how upset I was and she wasn't even apologizing to me and admitting they took the order wrong she said I ordered CEVICHE!! Dropped in here on "Suz" M's co-worker's recommendation. There was only one other table occupied, and another group strolled in while we ate, but I have since learned that the location in La Puente bumps pretty hard. We were swayed by a picture of their "molcajete de mariscos" dish on the wall, so we ordered that in addition to a fish taco and a tostada de ceviche. The salsa they served was fresh and tasty with decent little kick. A few hot sauces on the table and ketchup augmented the flavor experience. The molcajete, which was adorned with a pig head, was a vast and pithy repository of spiced up (she warned us about it because of my gringo-factor) shrimp, abalone, and octopus. We ate and ate and still it was like shrimp were being shuttled in from some nether portal. The ceviche was lime-y and pleasant, but as Suz remarked, lacked "fish" flavor of the good variety. All of the seafood tasted quite fresh and the price was quite reasonable--about $20 for more than we could eat. But for hungry hungry fish hounds that can eat heaps, it would probably be just enough. I guess if you don't want to stand in line at the La Puente spot, truck on over to this one! First off let me say that I live in Highland Park and at first craving for bomb Mariscos I will not hesitate to take the drive to either Martin location off the 605 fwy. The cocteles are really good and even available in a molcajete. The oysters are okay but better off had at other places I've visited. The main dish of Martins is the Filete Sarandiado. It is a boneless fillet of fish served with a side of white rice, refried frijoles, side salad, and a really good spicy chile de arbol en asiete. It really is super yummy and a delicious dish to have here. Also great at Martins is the Micheladas. There a bit different here but also super good and can be made to order with either Modelo Especial, Corona, Dos XX, Cerveza Victoria, or any of the beers they have for sale. Of interest to those parandedos (party people) the Martins location on valley has musicos to play the corridos or Mexican folk song of your choice! read more

The food is ok, nothing special. I ordered by phone and arrived 30 minutes later. They couldn't find my order but eventually figured it out. While I was waiting, I took a look around, and it was pretty filthy inside. It started to sketch me out. I was about to cancel my order because I was starting to think twice about what I might get. They are a cash only restaurant with an atm inside, which is also sketchy. They likely do not report all of their earnings to avoid paying their fair share of taxes, but what do I know? They used cooked frozen shrimp for the Agua Chile. That was strange. The beans and rice did not seem fresh. They were busy, though. I don't get it. I love this place since the first time a little girl :) decided to bring it to my work. I had been hook on the garlic fish filet since the first time I ate it so I decided to be an awesome wife and pick some up for dinner. I ended up calling in cause I know how long fish can take to be prepare so I made the call and had the GPS guide me to this wonderful meal. I actually pass it cause it pretty easy to miss if you don't pay attention but eventually I made my way to the front door. I only had $13 buck on me and didn't know how much my meal cost since I added extra side of rice and beans so I used their ATM which is located inside the restaurant. Cash only!!!! In the end my meal costed $12 something. I was so surprise how can my whole meal just cost $12 bucks. (Darn!!! I pay the service charge for nothing) I opened the meal at home put it on two plates and my hubby thought it cost over 40 bucks. The hubby and I even had leftover the next day. Two big fish filet, yummy rice that soak up the garlic sauce on the fish that made it so good, and the beans. I think they are the best refried beans I ever ate. The meal was almost prefect. The thing I was missing was their chili oil. I love their chili oil and i didn't know it only came with certain meals only. I didn't know this till I got home and got fool when I opened the sauce container and there was salsa and not the great chili oil. Ooo well next time I know I can add it for an extra charge. So yes, if you love spicy stuff, u must try this oil. It's will burn your tongue spicy but so good. I actually didn't think the side of rice I ordered was any good.
