This is my family's go-to restaurant whenever we are in Puerto Vallarta. It is a family tradition. Why, you ask? Because of the grilled whole red snapper, which is amazing! The snapper is grilled over an open flame and it has the most amazing sauce. The bigger the fish, the better, so we always go with as many people as possible. We tried the empanadas during our most recent visit, and they were very good. And, of course, the margaritas are great. One more thing - I always order the sweet corn ice cream for dessert. Food- I don't know why the rating here is not as good. Their reviews on TripAdvisor is better. Me and my husband had some crazy seafood cravings and we came across this place and we loved it! We got seafood plate ( octopus, shrimp, oyster, scallop, snail & etc..) as appetizer. They were fresh and loved the variety. Next time we only got our favorites. You can choose the seafood plate however you like (we got oyster and scallop). But their specialty is their smoked red snapper dish. It was A-MA-ZING !! Big portion to share and it has the smokey taste that I love. Fresh fish, lightly salted and you eat it with salsa and tortilla. Drinks- We also got piña colada with some Don Julio and we absolutely loved it. I'm not much of a drinker and usually get sweet drinks and my husband enjoys good drinks. We both loved it. Service- The servers are very friendly. And yes, they try to tell you about the activities and try to sell them but that's like that at many places. We already booked ours at another place so we just told them that you don't want it. That was the only negative thing but everything else was great for us. Dessert- we tried Mexican coffee on our second trip there because we saw another customer having it before. It's almost like watching a little show how they make the coffee. Pretty entertaining and the taste was not bad. They put kailua and some tequila in the coffee. Again, if you want to watch how they make it, then you ask but it was not as good as all the hard work they put into making one cup in my opinion. This place is outdoor seating under a roof. I don't recall seeing any fans on so it was very hot this evening. They take reservations so if you have a big party you'll want to book it. The kids had spaghetti and breaded chicken and they loved it. The Diablo Shrimp was very good however the side potatoes and vegetables medleys did not pair up. The Red Snapper took 30 minutes to cook and they also forewarn you. 2 kilo was to feed 4 people and it does but it does not leave you stuffed or asking for more-just perfect portions. In our continuing quest for fresh local seafood, we decided to give Mariscos Tino's a try. The restaurant is located up on the second floor and we were seated on a nice balcony overlooking the street below. Our service was very efficient. Our waiter didn't seem to speak much English but that was fine because we were trying to speak more Spanish. Plus, I suppose we are spoiled in Vallarta with so many people speaking English. We were immediately presented with a trio of great salsas. The standouts were a super flavorful pico and a super spicy tomatillo. I understand why some people complain about the chips coming in a plastic bag. They're not warm and homemade but they still taste okay to me. I guess not all restaurants choose to make their own chips and I assume the bagged chips cut down on waste. Mr. P. had no complaints about his seafood stuffed fish entree. I chose the catch of the day, mahi mahi. The filet was rather flat, so it was kind of dry, but it had a nice mild and smoky barbecue flavor. My fish also came with steamed veggies and a small baked potato. It was actually quite a lot of food. We weren't exactly wowed by this meal but maybe we'll give them another try whenever we return to PV. read more

My friends and I celebrated the last night of my bachelorette weekend here, and it could not have been a better choice! We shared seafood ceviche, grilled fish in garlic sauce, fajitas and more. All of the food was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The server also brought out three salsas - a tomato salsa, a habanero one, and a brown one that he warned us was "really spicy." As a spice lover, I took the challenge - def the spiciest hot sauce tried the whole weekend. The setting was also a little fancier than the other places we tried in Punta Mita. We were there in the low season (late May) so were the only ones in the restaurant, but that didn't detract from the service or the ambiance, and never once did we feel rushed. I even asked if there were any HH specials (it was 8:30pm), and the server said sure, and gave us a BOGO offer on margaritas. If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy views and food in Punta Mita, definitely go to Tinos! read more

Food is ok but drinks are horrendous. My wife and i had 2 margaritas each - both ended up with alcohol poisoning . I don't know what these guys use for alcohol, but it's beyond bad. Stay away from liquor in this place!! Not a favorite of our trip. We had this place suggested by two people. A taxi driver and a man at our resort. We should have known when we walked in and it was empty on a Saturday night. As we sat down we were greeted and offered salas and "chips". When in Mexico I thought I would get fresh from the fryer chips. But here we got a bad of pre made tostadas that we had to crack up into pieces. The good was decent. I had the lobster. No one was blown away. We went for lunch on yesterday as previous guest said, yes it was pretty empty. I'm not sure what type of alcohol they use in their margaritas but it was undrinkable. I have never in my life returned a margarita. The salsa they bring out comes with crackers and tortilla chips wrapped in small bag that u have to open so no the chips are not hot. We ordered shrimp appetizer and Surf and Turf for our meal which included ribeye, Lobster,bake potato and veggies both were delicious but I don't think that was a ribeye but it was good. Red snapper a la talla.. I'm loving it. Staff who served me was friendly. The mango margarita is yummy. I love the chops that came with my meal. My tummy was very very happy. If you order the chips appetizer with guacamole, it's a little bit big the portion. You might want to think twice if you don't come with big party (less than 3). Serving of rice was okay (haha yes I eat a lot of rice, so I wished they would give me more). Restroom can be more clean! View on balcony is nice. If weather is not bad in the afternoon, try to sit outside so you can see the sunset/sky. read more

This was our favorite dinner during our six day stay in Puerto Vallarta. The beers were cold, the service was spot on and the food was deliciosa! I highly recommend ordering the fish zarandeado with rice, beans, pico de gallo and avocado. It's a whole red snapper cooked over coals and served with fresh corn tortillas to make fish tacos. This dish easily serves 2-3 people. Ask them to de-bone it for you and they will gladly do it. This was the perfect meal to wrap up an amazing vacation. read more

My girlfriend found out about this restaurant because of her research into great location seafood places. The atmosphere didn't do much for me, but the bacon wrapped shrimp was amazing. Not cheap, but certainly one of the best meals we had in Puerto Vallarta. read more
