They do not honor their 2-year/24,000-mile warranty. They had my car for 3 months; I only worked with Mike and their lead mechanic, Mark. They broke my front windshield and never completed the repairs Mark assured me were needed. My car only had 2,000 miles on it, and less than a year after their repairs, the engine light came back on. They would not answer my phone calls, so I went there in person, and they yelled, refused to speak to me, and literally threw me out of their office and told me they would not honor their warranty. Do not take your car here!!! This is not the same original business with all the good reviews. I had two friends who highly recommended them so I trusted this business to do a common repair on my Ferrari. What was that a mistake! This business was sold by Mark Douglas apparently the month before I took my car there. And did not find that out until halfway through this headache process. The owner, Mike is somebody who has absolutely no ability or skill to run a Ferrari service. My service took over six weeks total, four weeks for them just waiting to get a part that Ferrari N.A. has in stock and told me they could receive in 5 days or less. Once they had the part it took them an additional two weeks just to get them installed. The entire time I was never called or emailed with an update. Not once! I had to call myself every week just to see what was happening and every time I called Mike would answer the phone and give me a terrible attitude just because I wanted an update. At one point I had to drive down there because they claimed their phone service was down for 3 days. He played it off like I'm annoying him just to get an update on my car sitting in their shop. On top of that when they claimed it was finally done, I go to pick it up and the car is shooting out an insane amount of smoke to the point where it looks like it was on fire. Turns out they completely overfilled the oil. They said it's no big deal and happens all the time. I've never seen such a thing. It took them, three more days to drain the oil. Oil was in the air filters all the sensors my exhaust system and covered the entire carbon fiber engine bay They clearly do not know what they're doing and are just winging things as they go along. They even lied to me and told me they were working on my car to get it done the following night so I drove by the shop and it was completely closed. I am only writing this review to warn others not to trust them with your expensive car. When I finally picked up my car and confronted Mike about all the headache and trouble all he said "well it's fixed now". No apologies or even explanations for their incompetence. Definitely not the kind of customer service you would expect trusting someone with your Ferrari. read more

I've been taking my Porsche Cayman to Mark Douglas Motorworks (MDM) ever since I bought my dream car in 2017, and I've never looked back. I found them on Yelp, and after reading their 5 star reviews, I figured it was worth a shot. I've rarely had good experiences taking my car in for maintenance at car dealerships in the past, and on top of that, the dealerships are significantly higher than MDM. MDM is a small, family-owned mechanic shop who specializes in high quality European cars without the high dealership price tag! It's not unusual to see Ferrari's, Porsche's, Lamborghini's, Maserati's and similar cars being serviced in their garage. They're located in a small car repair center area off of Los Alisos and Madero in Mission Viejo. There are 3 or 4 other car mechanic shops in that same area. If I'm just getting an oil change done or something minor, I usually bring my laptop and get some work done in their lobby while I'm waiting for my car. It's a small lobby with one table and WiFi access. A simple service like an oil change typically takes an hour, with an appointment made in advance. My maintenance services typically take longer, so I'll usually drop my car off and take an Uber to my next destination until my car is ready for pick up. They do not have rental cars like the large dealerships, but that's not a problem to me. In addition to their incredible rates, their service is always top-notch! In the past, Mike used to answer the phones and work the front desk, and he's always very mellow and nice. Recently John has been at the front desk, and he's very outgoing and friendly. The mechanics who work on my car are efficient and thorough. After my service is complete, they always take the time to go over each item in detail and explain what was done to my car. In addition, whenever I'm in need of other services that they don't offer, such as a detailer or a tire shop, they always hook me up with reputable vendors. Last of all, and probably most important, I never feel like I'm getting ripped off by them. They are nice, honest guys whose #1 priority is taking care of their customers at a reasonable and fair price. I would highly recommend them! read more

This place is a gem for exotic cars. I was having difficulty getting Ferrari in Newport to even return a call. Raging Bull auto service wasn't really any better. To busy to help me with my issue. My Ferrari battery died while car was in garage. Couldn't be jumped. They came and were able to get the cat out. Fixed the battery and a bad relay that drained the battery. They've even washed my car with big services, to helping me get a ride back when I drop off my car. Mark, the owner, is very knowledge. He will take the time to discuss things with you. But other brands he doesn't know the nuances. And it's OK as we all know cars from different manufactures all have their different quirks across all models so it's impossible for one person to know all of them. Well I took my Audi To Mark Douglas Motorworks and they said it needed a new power steering rack because the electric part that activated the low speed power assist wasn't working and that " you can't just replace that part" so they quoted me $3,500 to replace the whole rack and pinion and power steering units. I called around and wound up taking it to John's foreign car repair in Mission Viejo where they replaced just the low speed power assist and changed the power steering fluid all for $1,000.00.
