After A LOT of car shopping and visiting many dealers (KIA, Honda, Subaru, Mazda, Toyota), we were extremely impressed with Mazda. We visited two Mazda dealerships, Chapman and Mark, which were both exceptional. The employees were professional, warm and knowledgeable and there were NO high pressure sales tactics. We just wanted to see cars and test drive, and Mazda got us into a car to test ASAP. Other dealers wanted to fill out worksheets and talk finance and we weren't ready for that yet. Plus it just seemed really odd to immediately start talking about money and focus on filling out worksheets like we're in grade school. I don't know why other deals do that. We're adults - let's have a conversation. The facility is absolutely beautiful and I love the extra touches like the nice beverage machine and the free snacks. Even the lobby smelled good! Brennden was great - even at the end of the day - when all of us were pretty spent and ready to go home. He was well-versed in the products and the company and was a good sport about both my husband and I wanting to test drive and ask a lot of questions. He helped us get more for our trade in and negotiate on some of the particulars and we walked away with a deal I think we were all happy with. I'd also like to shout out the woman in finance (I can't recall her name - but she mentioned she was the only woman in finance). She was amazing and still smiling at 9 PM as we wrapped everything up. My husband and I were worse for wear after an unexpectedly long day of car shopping, and the finance person was so understanding and helpful. I am so sorry I can't recall her name! What ultimately made us choose Mazda was the product itself - which is superior. We loved that the car feels luxury and has so many thoughtful details that other vehicles in its class do not. I arrived at this dealership with the intention of driving away in a new car. The first sales person we dealt with was personable and relatively easy going, but once the female manager with the neck tattoos got involved the high pressure tactics began. This individual was aggressive, insulting and dishonest. I spent about 45 minutes dealing with her before I drove to Audi in North Scottsdale, where they had a remarkably similar vehicle at the same price. I purchased the vehicle at the Audi dealership and was treated very well. The monthly payments quoted at Mark Kia were over $300 per month higher that what I ended up with from the other dealership on a shorter term loan. My husband and I purchased a used vehicle here and it was a disaster! We intended to pay the balance of the car that day as listed on the website. Of course things were not that simple. We had to endure hours of the grueling upscale pressure tactics of ceramic tint, key replacement and whatever other warranties they "recommend." Even though that was rough, the hardest pill to swallow was their lies. The vehicle had a factory safety recall and they offered to get it taken care of, along with detailing it before we'd drive it off the lot. We agreed and left the vehicle there for 7 days after the sale. When we picked it up, we waited over an hour before they brought it out (we had a sched appt) it was not clean, definitely Not detailed and only had a bit over 1/4 tank of fuel. At that point we just wanted to get out of there and put the whole car dealership experience behind us. However, it gets even worse, a week later I enter my vehicle vin number into NHTSA website and find out that the recall had never been resolved! They lied! They risked the safety of my family! We called the dealership and yes they confirmed that they did not have the recall taken care of! I went to check the Mazda Inventory and saw another base CX30 available at a different dealership. I was able to get the price, I wanted out of the door. I decided to talk to AJ if he would match the offer since Scottsdale is a much closer drive. AJ became pushy and couldn't accept the offer (which is understandable). UPDATE: It has been weeks and I am still battling with Mark Mazda and filed a complaint with the BBB because there was no other way to get Mark Mazda to respond or take action. They finally sent a check -- and it was for the wrong amount, with the wrong name, to the wrong address. The check was also backdated by over a week compared to the postmark and each of the cancellations was filed for a different date as well. They are clearly unwilling to do the right thing and have bad intentions when it comes to properly communicating or refunding coverages that they sell. Do not do business with them -- they are not doing business with good intentions. ----- I have been trying to get in touch with the finance department for 5 days with no luck. Nobody answers when I call and there's no way to leave a message. It took me multiple days to get my sales agent from 6 months ago to give me an email address for the finance department. I was given the email for the head of the finance department and I have emailed him 2x with no response. I also filled out the contact form on the website 2x and I filled out the form to request the cancellation of my gap and other insurance coverages. I sold my car and I am trying to initiate the refund of the amount I am due for the remaining coverages (this is a legal obligation on Mark Mazda's part). So far Mark Mazda has been impossible to communicate with on this matter so I have no choice but to escalate the issue to get my money back read more

***** Buyers be ware******* My salesman was fantastic but I got to the desk on a solid car that had zero working key (yes car key, i didn't know you could sell a car without a key not a second key, the key provided did not work to unlock the car. Apparently this dealer thinks that's ok. They offered to put in writing that they would provide a working key but they refused to fix the problem with out me purchasing the car first. They insisted it was just a battery in key fob (I said GREAT replace battery in key fob and I'll sign paperwork. They would not do this) I started to walk & before I did i said "how do you plan to sell this car w/o a working key & I was told "the next customer might not check the key before they purchase it". At this point the manager seemed upset he did not get his way and tried starting a verbal altercation in the store. I walked out as he made a couple comments and rolling his eyes. I get some used cars do not have two keys or that batteries do go bad (then you replace them) but knowing a key doesn't work not know why and pressuring a woman into signing something b4 you fix it is BAD business. Don't appreciate him trying to sell me something I don't want [insurance] and trash talking me. Hey i'm spending over 30,000 on a S U V. He says the car is going breakdown and I'm going to pay 6000 a year on the car, if that's true I won't buy another one after sitting there for 3 hours I all most walked out and said F it, in 3 years when I buy another one he won't be my finance guy or i'm gone, but I will give him a a chance to call me and apologize. Really ticked me off and will spread the word about this loser. One other thing I had a missing headrest and it's illegal to sell a car or S U V without a head rest not checking the car out before it go's out the door detail crew should have caught it. Update 07/02/21 I have spent the last two weeks attempting to refund the Freedom Warranty contract the sales manager had sold me. The contract states a 100% refund, no questions asked, is available within 30 days of purchasing the warranty. I was driving my 2019 CX five signature and found that the battery was low in the key transmitter. I dropped him in service/parts instantly took care of me. And it was only like six dollars to change the battery. Not more than any other shop or store. The staff there took the time to tell me about the location in the future vision of Mazda. So I bought a 2017 Escalade on March 18th 2024 and I would like to share my true experience. I called prior to going to the dealership and I shared with him. I was pre-approved through America first credit and shared with him what I was looking for, 20 minutes later I was at the dealership and looked at the Escalade and decided I liked it. I wanted to purchase it, in addition, I was trading in a 2020 Chevy Silverado in excellent condition and I had equity in the truck. When he sat down with me to do the numbers, the finance guy forgive me do not remember his name came up to me and shared with me that I could not get a PO for the Escalade to take to my credit union for them to issue the check that they were a customer of theirs and therefore it was against mark Mazda's policy to accept any checks from a pre approval bank/credit union. So with that said I left, however I really wanted Escalade so I decided to go back kind of a mistake. As they ran my credit, the same credit union came back and told me my interest rate was 7.99%, truly the rate that the bank offered was 6.99. Even though my payments were where I wanted to be, I just decided to go for the deal. NOW- Thank god I bought a warranty. 2 days later I had the Escalade back due to Ac coming on and off and the stereo sounds distorted. Naturally, they couldn't find the issue so they had to refer the vehicle over to Scottsdale Earnhardt Cadillac, which I want to highlight were absolutely amazing (thank you Brandon), they found my vehicle not only was the back AC unit out the antenna of the vehicle needed to be replaced on top of a cracked motor mount the oil pan leaking, and to top it off the back struts needing to be replaced. Today April 9th I finally have my vehicle, I would like to say Mark Mazda of Scottsdale did agree to pay for the oil pan and the AC but refused to have the back struts replaced, the warranty I purchased replaced the AC motor, the antenna along with the motor mount. All of this has believe with a proper Vehicle inspection this could have been avoided. So I went 3 weeks , made first payment and did not have the opportunity to enjoy it more less paid a payment for something that should have never been experienced. Austin was my sales guy Adam the GM promised he would keep me updated and he would personally call never did I only received updates by calling Earnhardt Cadillac, Frank the GSM- his response when I called upset and stating either I wanted my truck back if they didn't move the process along told me "this is above my pay grade so I can't help you, and of course I mentioned well if I have to I would sue them, obviously I was upset So, if you're buying a vehicle from this dealership, I would highly recommend that if you are pre approved, and once your approved interest rate, do not go to this dealership, because as they would say through finance, it is against their policy to accept any pre approvals. They (Mark Mazda) must run your credit again, therefore, it kicks out your current loan application with the bank that you have chosen along with them telling you that your interest rate was not the approval rate that you were approved of, but yet a percent higher. And through my experience, I would also highly recommend that if you are buying a vehicle from the dealership either take a mechanic with you to inspect the vehicle or buy an extended warranty. read more

My son purchased a 2009 Honda Civic Si on Father's Day. This was the 1st year without his dad so there was also alot of emotions in this purchase. Son, Kellan, had been looking for this car for months so when we found it we jumped in the car and drove to Scottsdale from Tucson. Kellan had been dealing with Brandon, a salesman, so when we drove almost 2 hours, the car was waiting for us. We made the deal and all was fine. Upon taking the car to the local Honda dealer in Tucson we're told it needs over $1400 bucks of work. Great. I proceed to call Brandon, leave a message, but no call back. I try 2 other times, leave 2 more messages. No call back. I call AGAIN today at 11 am, and asked to speak with the General Manager. Another message was taken. It's 3:30 pm now and no call back. Four days later, I was driving the car from the SF Bay Area to Phoenix for my daughter at ASU and the car started to violently shake when I used the car brakes.
