Been here one time before when it opened. Very clean and nice inside. Great service and good food. The only downside is the actual prices. It is a bit too pricey for that kind of food. However definitely worth going if you like Greek food. I will come back when I have the cravings for Greek food.

Food -- I've come here a few times and each time convinces me to keep coming back. The meat on all the plates is always super flavorful. I like their salads, gyros, and skewer plates. The falafels are tasty as well. *Can be pricey Service -- they were very friendly here and the food came out pretty quick. Ambiance -- usually plenty of places to sit, a very beautiful restaurant that's kept very tidy

I've been sleeping on Nick the Greek and so have you been if your reading this! I've gone maybe 1-2 times prior in college when a nearby Nick the Greek opened up near Cal State Fullerton opened up and they gave one gyro fry away per customer for free on their grand opening. It was a great marketing tactic for local college kids but unfortunately after that, I wasn't hooked just yet. When this spot opened up recently on 2nd Street, I always passed by but never pulled the trigger until I came earlier this year. Inside, its super spacious with high ceilings and plenty of seating. Their menu consists of pita sandwiches, salads, plates, bowls and more. My go-to is their beef/lamb gyro which is decently priced. It's the perfect to-go meal and affordable. It's a hefty meal too with sauce and fries. I've also ordered this online and it's ready in about 10-15 minutes. Recommend if you want to try a greek spot but there are also a lot of other good Mediterranean spots on 2nd Street too.

I was getting something to go, but while waiting noticed the dining area was clean and service for diners was quick. I got home and the gyro was terrific!

This is a solid choice for a quick dinner or lunch! I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with chicken and everything was fresh and the portion is sufficient. The flavors with the hummus and garlic sauce go perfectly together! The fries were crispy and well seasoned with a bit of rosemary which I loved. Check this place out! I have only ordered on DoorDash so can't speak to the dining experience, but the food is delicious.

Nick the Greek in Long Beach is an easy 4 star go to for fast casual Greek. The space is spacious, bright, and very clean so you don't feel crammed in like a lot of strip mall spots. Staff was accommodating and genuinely friendly. I ordered the beef/lamb gyro with fries on the side and it hit the spot it had good flavors and soft pita. The Greek salad was fresh, crisp, and well balanced with plenty of veggies and feta not just a bowl of lettuce. The real sleeper hit was the hummus and pita super creamy, well seasoned hummus and warm fluffy pita that felt way better than you'd expect from a fast casual chain. For a quick, satisfying meal that still feels fresh, this spot absolutely delivers. Pro tip grab the strawberry dragonfruit drink it's fire and pairs perfectly with the salty gyro and fries.

I've never gone wrong with the gyro coming here for the last two years since they opened. Tonight was about the chicken and it was crispy compared to the beefteki pita which is a bit more tender. The service has always been stellar from genuine kindness to helpfulness which is a top down affair. Fortunate to meet one of the owners, this review is at heels of eating a very sweet baklava the size of a slice of pie which I learned comes from their Florida headquarters. The room is always clean and perfect to watch sports events and it will be that much better once they get their beer and wine license approved. Hurry ABC, stop keeping Nick hanging!

The salad, the gyro pita, and the bowls, all sound amazing. Literally the best things in life. (: We only came for the dessert since I was craving Fryo! We might as well also get the Greek doughnuts! The service was great and the staff is very friendly. Lots of space to sit, and service looks easy to follow. (:

Good food, great service. If you want fresh good food come here. The fries were freshly cut and fried. I love when you can taste the freshness even though it is fried. The falafel was nicely seasoned. The vegetables in the wrap were crisp and fresh. Really good, glad I tried it. Theres a lot of things to try on 2nd street- give this place a try or two.

Somewhat healthy fast food where you can get a quick decent meal for a reasonable price. I had the salad with lemon dressing. The gyros are good as well. Economical for the area!

2nd of March 2026 We ordered Greek yogurt with chocolate. It was good. Nice place with good greek music.

** update** received a note from the restaurant (photo attached) about refunding me and I responded accordingly. No response from them after that. Terrible restaurant!! The food was completely cold and the froyo was melted. The chicken screw was so thin and had NO flavor. $6 for that!!!??? Mega rip off!!! The chicken falafel tasted disgusting. The chicken was overcooked and dry (like eating very dry jerky) and the sauce made me gag. Tasted like pure mayonnaise, and it was soooo much. So gross! I would never never recommend this place. The absolute worst Greek food I've ever eaten. The photos speak for themselves.

We saw that Saffron was a good choice, so we made the move. Okay, Pine avenue in Long Beach has experienced some empty locations. This spot is located behind Chipotle where the movie theater used to be. Although it's nestled in the back of a couple of other restaurants, Saffron is easily displayed. I decided on the chicken skewer meal. That will run you about $20. The meat was tender, the hummus was delicious and homemade, the garlic sauce was exquisite, and the rice clearly had saffron in it. The pita bread that they served with the meal was definitely homemade and delicious. All in all it was a $20 well spent. If you're in downtown Long Beach on Pine avenue, I highly recommend going to Saffron for some excellent Mediterranean fare. Give them a try. You will be happy you did.
