We came here to try the viral froyo with baklava and honey, which was refreshing and tart. We tried the loaded fries, which I have to say that the gyro lamb meat was exceptionally tasty. However, the fries itself were quite dry. Otherwise, very nice lunch spot

Been here one time before when it opened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean and nice inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great service and good food. The only downside is the actual prices. It is a bit too pricey for that kind of food. However definitely worth going if you like Greek food. I will come back when I have the cravings for Greek food.

Food -- I've come here a few times and each time convinces me to keep coming back. The meat on all the plates is always super flavorful. I like their salads, gyros, and skewer plates. The falafels are tasty as well. *Can be pricey Service -- they were very friendly here and the food came out pretty quick. Ambiance -- [[HIGHLIGHT]]usually plenty of places to sit, a very beautiful restaurant that's kept very tidy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been sleeping on Nick the Greek and so have you been if your reading this! I've gone maybe 1-2 times prior in college when a nearby Nick the Greek opened up near Cal State Fullerton opened up and they gave one gyro fry away per customer for free on their grand opening. It was a great marketing tactic for local college kids but unfortunately after that, I wasn't hooked just yet. When this spot opened up recently on 2nd Street, I always passed by but never pulled the trigger until I came earlier this year. Inside, its super spacious with high ceilings and plenty of seating. Their menu consists of pita sandwiches, salads, plates, bowls and more. My go-to is their beef/lamb gyro which is decently priced. It's the perfect to-go meal and affordable. It's a hefty meal too with sauce and fries. I've also ordered this online and it's ready in about 10-15 minutes. Recommend if you want to try a greek spot but there are also a lot of other good Mediterranean spots on 2nd Street too.

The steak Mediterranean bowl was ! It's a healthier to go option. Everything was flavorful and fresh.

The baklava and honey froyo is SO good, I crave it all the time. The froyo is very tart and balances the sweetness very well

was exploring 2nd street and decided to stop by for a bite!! steak pita: 5/5 LOVED the food because it was a great portion size and also healthy!! it didn't make me feel too heavy like certain meals do. i love the fries inside the pita. [[HIGHLIGHT]]there is a lot of seating inside and is a decently sized place, and parking around the area isn't too horrible to find.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the service was great - the server quickly checked in when he noticed my friend had just gotten food and i didn't. id eat here again!

This is a solid choice for a quick dinner or lunch! I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with chicken and everything was fresh and the portion is sufficient. The flavors with the hummus and garlic sauce go perfectly together! The fries were crispy and well seasoned with a bit of rosemary which I loved. Check this place out! I have only ordered on DoorDash so can't speak to the dining experience, but the food is delicious.

Nick the Greek in Long Beach is an easy 4 star go to for fast casual Greek. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is spacious, bright, and very clean so you don't feel crammed in like a lot of strip mall spots.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was accommodating and genuinely friendly. I ordered the beef/lamb gyro with fries on the side and it hit the spot it had good flavors and soft pita. The Greek salad was fresh, crisp, and well balanced with plenty of veggies and feta not just a bowl of lettuce. The real sleeper hit was the hummus and pita super creamy, well seasoned hummus and warm fluffy pita that felt way better than you'd expect from a fast casual chain. For a quick, satisfying meal that still feels fresh, this spot absolutely delivers. Pro tip grab the strawberry dragonfruit drink it's fire and pairs perfectly with the salty gyro and fries.

I've never gone wrong with the gyro coming here for the last two years since they opened. Tonight was about the chicken and it was crispy compared to the beefteki pita which is a bit more tender. The service has always been stellar from genuine kindness to helpfulness which is a top down affair. Fortunate to meet one of the owners, this review is at heels of eating a very sweet baklava the size of a slice of pie which I learned comes from their Florida headquarters. The room is always clean and perfect to watch sports events and it will be that much better once they get their beer and wine license approved. Hurry ABC, stop keeping Nick hanging!

The salad, the gyro pita, and the bowls, all sound amazing. Literally the best things in life. (: We only came for the dessert since I was craving Fryo! We might as well also get the Greek doughnuts! The service was great and the staff is very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of space to sit, and service looks easy to follow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (:

Paid attention to every little thing and checked in on everybody constantly in a very warm way. A very great hostess to have at a house party that's for sure. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of those expectations. To begin with the positives, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive throughout our visit. The outdoor patio on Second Street also provides a pleasant atmosphere and remains one of the restaurant's strongest features. Regrettably, the food was consistently disappointing. The gyro was dry and appeared as though it had been sitting for some time before being served. The pita was noticeably soggy, undersized, and lacked the texture and freshness one would expect. The accompanying salad consisted of low-quality greens that did not appear fresh, and it was served with what tasted like bottled dressing rather than a house-made vinaigrette. Having considerable familiarity with food preparation and dressings, the difference was immediately apparent. The calamari was acceptable but entirely unremarkable, and at $17 it did not justify its price. We also ordered a gyro salad, which suffered from the same issues as the sandwich: dry meat, uninspired presentation, and ingredients that lacked freshness. Ironically, the French fries were the most enjoyable item we received--competent, but hardly enough to elevate the overall meal. What made the experience particularly disappointing was not simply the quality of the food, but the imbalance between quality and price. I have no objection to paying premium prices when they are matched by premium ingredients, careful preparation, and attention to detail. In this case, however, the value proposition simply was not there. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend George's Greek Cafe. While the hospitality deserves recognition, the kitchen did not deliver a meal that reflected either the restaurant's reputation or its pricing. I sincerely hope management reexamines its commitment to ingredient quality, consistency, and execution, because the restaurant has the potential to offer a much better dining experience than what we encountered.

The lamb chops were the star of the meal--perfectly seasoned, savory, juicy, and beautifully grilled with that fresh, smoky barbecue flavor. The hummus was a 10/10: silky smooth, topped with whole chickpeas, and full of rich, authentic flavor. The rice deserves its own mention. It was light, fluffy, buttery, and perfectly cooked--not sticky at all. Paired with the fresh salad, it balanced the meal perfectly. For drinks, the sorbet drink was so refreshing, and the pomegranate tea was outstanding with bright, fruity notes that made it the perfect way to end the meal. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. Sitting outside on the sidewalk felt cozy and romantic, and the decor inside genuinely made me feel like I was back in Turkey. The restaurant is spotless (including the restrooms), and the customer service was warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. So glad I finally got to stop by many years later for dinner! Parking was easy (on a weeknight). Plenty of street parking and many open meters but I can see it being very difficult on weekends. I went on a Thursday night and it was slammed. They do not take reservations but they do have a waitlist via toast that you can join while you walk around and wait for your table. Plenty to do and see on 2nd street. We ordered the party platter for 4 people! It was the perfect amount of food with leftovers to take home. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly! It was very packed so it was slow at times but understandably so. They come by and give you orange blossom water for your hands post meal - what a treat! We smelled amazing! NO NOTES FOR OPEN SESAME! I have to come back with more friends! We did have an issue but it was with another patron who had the audacity to yell at my table (while I was in the restroom) for "having too much fun"?!?! This is a public restaurant and it was loud as hell in there because it's tight and everyone talks over each other, not to mention the open kitchen. The energy in the restaurant is exciting and frenetic. We will be back and we will have even MORE FUN, xoxo.
